One of the most bizarre comics released overseas was a Manga adaptation of “The Avengers” that pitted the superheroes against the undead in Japan.
Marvel will be adapting the bestselling “Avengers: Zombies Assemble” manga by Yusaku Komiyama into English for the first time next month with “Zombies Assemble”, reports Flickering Myth.
The publisher unveiled a series of variant covers for the first issue, as well as some preview artwork.
“The original manga was a huge hit when it was originally released in Japan,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “It is very exciting to be able to bring this story to an entirely new audience that may never have gotten to experience it otherwise.”
“Time and again, the Avengers have assembled to save the Earth from destruction. But they’ve never had to face down a threat as gruesome and terrifying as an endless horde of the undead!
