Netflix Allegedly Delays “The Punisher” in Wake of Vegas Shooting

This shouldn’t come as a surprise but Netflix has allegedly delayed the launch of their new “The Punisher” series after the horrific Las Vegas shooting earlier this week. A reporter out of the New York Comic-Con tweeted out the news that a surprise launch was actually planned for tonight and that it will now be delayed until a later, deep fall release.

Here’s star Jon Berthal as Frank Castle on a brand new poster.

In the series…

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson also star.

“The Punisher” was created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

This is so ridiculous to stop a TV show from starting because some psychopath side to kill people this happens all the time it’s gets ridiculous Punisher is fiction why don’t people understand that pisses me off really does the only one that feels this way.

So what’s going to happen next well this will be news of course of course until the next big story happens in the move on and so on and so on people seem to forget the old news instead and concentrate on the new stuff which is really disgusting

It’s always been like this. After 911 Jimmy Eat World was forced to change the name of Bleed American to Self Titled. The band Burning Airlines broke up because they could no longer book shows. Our country is so worried about people being triggered. We have become a nation full of sensitive cunts.

        its not like its important

        • jackstark211

Never said it was you fucking jackass. I don’t give a fuck one way of another because I don’t plan on watching the show. I was just pointing out the facts you fuck tard.

          • Garbageface

CLEARLY you don’t give a fuck. You can tell by how furious you are

          • jackstark211

        • Twiztidsoldier

Yeah, no shit it’s a fucking tv show, ya fucking moron. I hate this argument. Like OH MY GOD, NO WAY? IS IT REALLY?

          • Garbageface

OHMYGOODNESS SUCH AN ANGRY LITTLE KID!

          • Twiztidsoldier

Hardly lol, just tired of hearing that stupid argument. It’s as annoying as an upbeat complete stranger telling you to smile as you pass them on the sidewalk. “It’s just a tv show”. Thanks, stranger. Yeah, no shit. How does saying that contribute anything? And fuck off lol, I wasn’t even talking to you.

        Amen

    • WondrousPoop

Totally! I know. It’s almost as ridiculous as someone being able to purchase a weapon that can kill and severely injure hundreds in mere minutes.

      • Hank_Scorpio

Right, let’s blame the inanimate object for the actions of criminals and the mentally disturbed, that’s not irrational at all….

      • Ocelot006 .

If you can’t change guns laws, changing release dates of fantasy action shows will help….

  • UnsafeSafeSpace

    So silly…

  • The chicken man

It was going to suck anyway…

  • Hank_Scorpio

FFS this is ridiculous. They have nothing to do with each other….

  • Sky Commander

    Oh for fuck sake.

  • Damn…

  • Ocelot006 .

God damn it. Yeah, it’s the pretend violence that could offend people….Jesus lord.

  • zob rombie

Like killing all those people wasn’t bad enough…

    • Ocelot006 .

The Punisher delay is def the bigger tragedy.

If I lived somewhere else I would think America is filled with pussies.

Are peoples lives so meaningless that we can’t wait awhile longer for another TV show? This world has got bigger problems when something as trivial as pushing back a release date (To show some respect) pisses people off. Yes it is sad that this has to happen, but I have a lot of other stuff to fill my time (like being a compassionate human being) than worrying about seeing another TV show. To all those who say they weren’t going to watch it anyways, really must have no lives. And if they are going to make ignorant comments on something they supposedly don’t care about anyway, thats what’s really sad.

    • Ocelot006 .

Tragedy happens everyday. Why not just never release anything so as not to ‘offend’?

And good job patting yourself on the back with your self declared ‘I’m a compassionate human being.’

  • MeeGhoulz

As much as I respect the grief of the families that lost their loved ones, any fiction that depicts violence is not the reason for tragic episodes like these. Netflix aired an episode of Bojack Horseman that talks about this exact problem. A movie kept being pushed in face of shootings that occured near its release date… dark humor, but it invites us to reflection. “Thoughts and prayers.”

  • Meatwad

They’re ‘playing it safe’. I get it. I don’t like it, but I get it.

  • Dave

If you’re offended then don’t watch. It’s that fucking easy. fuck!

  • Gower Cox

    More pussyfaction of America, SMH

  • Travis_Bickle

Makes sense. The show is about a gun toting vigilante….so…..

People can’t get mad because they didn’t even realize when the show was supposed to air. It was going to be a surprise but unfortunately a tragedy happened. This is like when Buffy had to push back the Earshot episode because of the Columbine shooting. People should be more upset at mass murder than shows getting delayed.
