The Agent Venom rumors swirling over the past few days made zero sense, and thankfully Sony put a stop to it with this teaser logo that displays the classic Venom design on what appears to be an early logo.
Collider shared the following image out of CCXP that shows Eddie Brock as Venom, in what looks like Randy Schueller and Todd McFarlane’s iconic design from 1988.
I love that Tom Hardy is playing the title character not only because he’s one of the best actors around, but because he physically encapsulates the Eddie Brock from the comic (unlike the ridiculous casting of Topher Grace in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3).
It’s still unclear who will portray Carnage (read about the character) and his human persona, Cletus Kasady, although Riz Ahmed was rumored for the role.
Targeting a release next October, Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer is directing the film also stars Michelle Williams, Scott Haze and Jenny Slate.
Here’s the art with the tagline “We are Venom,” cause, ya know, both Brock and the alien symbiote are one in the same.
