A short animated New Mutants teaser shows Cannibal (played by “Stranger Things” star Charlie Heaton) in a mine where his powers first manifested. In the scene, he must face his worst fears, his nightmares. The video clip contains the text, “Welcome to your nightmare,” which is a spin on one of Freddy Krueger’s infamous lines. This is in line with the entire marketing campaign thus far, which harkens back to Wes Craven’s A Nightmare On Elm Street in both the trailer and on the official poster.
