I’m here in New York on the set of Caliber Media’s Condemned, which has taken over a four story building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. While I can’t share much until the film is closer to release, I can say that what I’ve seen is gory, gooey and looks like a ton of fun. The movie seems to have a sense of humor, but at the same time doesn’t pull any punches.
I can also exclusively report that Stake Land and Late Phases star Nick Damici (pictured above from the set) and Michael Gill (pictured below; “House Of Cards”) have been added to the cast of the film. Damici plays “Hoobler”, a reclusive squatter who tries to help the group of kids escape from the building alive. Gill will portray a CDC agent trying to contain the infection plaguing the film.
Dylan Penn plays the lead role of Maya “the youngest member of a group of kids who live in a condemned, filthy squat in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. After an infection originating from their own waste hits the building’s residents, the people inside lose their mind and go on murderous rampages.”
Johnny Messner, Ronen Rubinstein, Shawn Christensen, Jon Abrahams, Jordan Gelber, Genevieve Hudson-Price, Anthony Chisholm, Kevin Kirkwood, Kea Ho, Michael Drayer, Lydia Hearst and Honor Titus also star.
Eli Morgan Gesner is directing the film, based on his original screenplay. Caliber Media’s Dallas Sonnier, Jack Heller and Jason Sokoloff are producing.
