‘Amityville’ Wraps Production (Exclusive)

Who says houses don’t have memories?

Filming wrapped May 9 on TWC-Dimension’s Amityville, their sequel to the 1979 The Amityville Horror, Bloody Disgusting learned.

We also exclusively confirmed the full cast, which include Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann and Jennifer Morrison.

Leigh will be playing Joan, a single mother raising three kids all on her own. The family move into the infamous “Amityville” house, only to learn that it has a very dark history. Grace will play Juliet, the youngest daughter of Leigh’s character. Thorne plays “Belle”, Monaghan is “James”, Spreitler is “Marissa”, Mann is “Terrance” and Morrison is “Candice”.

In addition, this Facebook fan snuck onto the El Dorado Park, Long Beach set and snapped a bunch of exterior shots of the new house! Much of Amityille was filmed on sets.

Maniac and P2‘s Franck Khalfoun will be directing the new Amityville Horror, haunting theaters January 2, 2015.

Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala co-wrote the script and produced with Jason Blum.

Well they did a good job matching the original house from the 1979 film. So since this is a direct sequel from the first film, does it have any relation to the original sequel? I’m not referring to the Amityville 2: Possession, since that was a prequel, but Amityville 3 is technically the true sequel.

I think they would fit this one in between 1 and 3…not after 3 since they destroyed the house.

Unless they totally disregard Amityville 3D. It all comes down to the time period this takes place in.

Good crew there thats for sure.

I’m actually kinda interested in this. I didn’t think I would be. I’m loving this latest trend of making a sequel to the original rather than doing another remake. People writing Halloween 3, take notes. 😛

I gathered these photos from other users on Instagram, cropped them then posted them on FB Amityville Horror page and even more on the Amityville truth forum. I didnt want to take credit for the photos but will for sharing with others on other social media sites. All these were taken in El Dorado park in Long Beach, California. Most of these photos were taken on a Sunday when the park is the busiest. They built the prop leaving the inside empty. The only finished areas were by the dining room and by the front door. They filmed for 5 days and immediately dismantled the house. I call Blumhouse productions in regards to the prop and they then directed me to call David Lazan who is the production designer and is the guy that created this replica to the original movie house which still stands in Toms River, NJ. I asked him what the plans were with the prop after it is taken down because I have read from someone where I had gotten one of these photos that they were just going to junk it. David told me that it will be predominately safe in his own words. I would expect to see this again after a while!
