Bloody Disgusting has learned that Teach Grant (“Fringe,” “The Dead Zone,” Hard Ride to Hell ), William B. Davis (The X-Files, The Thaw, “Fear Itself”), Samantha Ferris (Grace, “Supernatural”) and a grown up Jodelle Ferland (Eclipse, Silent Hill, Case 39) will all be joining Jessica Beil in The Tall Man, a long time dream project for Martyrs director Pascal Laugier. Tall Man is a suspenseful thriller in the vein of the early films of M. Night Shyamalan, said an early statement. Consumer online voting is now under way for the Second Annual Reaper Awards, honoring the best horror/thriller titles on DVD and Blu-ray. Horror fans can vote for their favorite discs from the past year, as well as vote on which titles they are most looking forward to in the coming months, through October 1st at the official Home Media Magazine website or on the official Reaper Awards website. Bloody Disgusting learned today that J. LaRose will be joining Deborah Ann Woll, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, Matt O’Leary, Lyriq Bent, Lisa Marcos, Patrick Flueger and AJ Cook in Darren Lynn Bousman’s Mother’s Day. Filming begins today. This will be the fifth time LaRose has been in one of Bousman’s projects as he starred in Repo! The Genetic Opera, Saw III, Saw IV and the “Fear Itself” episode New Year’s Day. In the remake written by Scott Milam, three brothers on the run from the law head for home, only to discover that their mother lost the house in a foreclosure. Update: EVEN MORE casting inside! Two of Darren Lynn Bousman’s proteges have rejoined him for his forthcoming remake of Mother’s Day. Alexa Vega, who played Shilo in Bousman’s Repo! The Genetic Opera, and Briana Evigan, who starred in his Fear Itself episode “New Year’s Day”, have both joined the previously announced Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) in the remake of the classic Troma movie from 1980, reports Dread Central. Shooting begins this month in Winnipeg, Canada. Evigan can be seen in Summit’s Sorority Row later this month. Today we were provided with a special look at the next episode of Fear Itself entitled “Spooked”, which was directed by Brad Anderson and premieres tonight on NBC. “Spooked” is directed by Brad Anderson (“The Machinist”) and written by Matt Venne (“White Noise 2: The Light”). While on a stake out in a haunted house, a private eye (Eric Roberts) is made to confront the demons of his past. We learned today via the IMDB that the awesome Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy), along with Chris Pratt (Wanted), Juno Ruddell, Kyle Gallner (The Haunting in Connecticut, Red), Aman Johal (Juno), Nicole Leduc (“Fear Itself”), Josh Emerson, Michael Brock, Megan Danso, Ryan Levine, Sal Cortez and Megan Charpentier have all joined Johnny Simmons, Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody and J.K. Simmons in Fox Atomic’s Jennifer’s Body, which is currently lensing in Vancouver, Canada. Watch for SpookyDan’s report from the set in the coming months. The film is the story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town.
