Real Killers (aka Killers)

Two killers who’ve escaped from prison face a larger challenge than the police- a family crazier than they are.

One of these movies where the premise sounds better than it actually is. Sure, it’s has a pretty original story, a bunch of nice actors, great dialogue and some gorgeous sex’n'violence, it’s funny, brutal and entertaining – nevertheless there are 2 major problems with this film:
    (1) it totally looks like director Mendez wanted to create a cult movie in the vein of Tarantino or Oliver Stone. Well, it’s (a) impossible to “create” a cult movie and (b) you can only fail by copying from “Natural Born Killers”.
    (2) there’s hardly any atmosphere, tension or suspense which makes it often pretty tedious to watch.
