This movie was ok. The acting was pretty poor but I was still entertained so much more than I was with the first. Worth a watch!
If you liked the first one, I’d stay away from this….on the other hand…if you hated the first you might enjoy this.
This film is terrible, worthless trash and truly a waste of film that I’d be happy to burn here and now. I am not saying this because it has terrible direction, acting or visuals, because it doesn’t – quite the contrary – but this is NOT a way to follow up such a masterpiece like ‘The Blair Witch Project’. It’s couldn’t possibly be less like the original, and truly is one of the worst, most disrespectful sequels I’ve ever wasted over an hour of my time on.
Better than it’s original, more interesting, less boring and more intellegent than the original and this will always be the lesser known of the two, but in my opinion, it’s ten times as better.
Worthless garbage.
Stupid as fuck! i woudl rate this 0/10 but i cant
The thing that angers me the most about this movie is teh number of people that say it is better than the original. This was an absolute joke, and one of the dumbest sequals of all time.
this was an amazing sequel which was nothing like the first movie which makes it so unique. it has a brilliant plot and in my opinion is better than the first
loved this movie, best sequel ever with a unique plot
This movie wasnt that bad at all. The first one sucked total fucking dog ass and i had to wait an hour in line to see it. God that sucked
wtf?this sucked!
I’m one of those few people who actually liked this more than the original. It’s nothing spectacular but it has some genuine scares a few good ideas. Plus I was introduced to Erica Leerhsen; thank you god.
not a very good movie at all…i liked the first for some reason, and this just didnt work for me…
loved the first didnt really like this one
Blair Witch remains a fascinating myth made up by bored filmmakers. The story of Ellie Kedward is so mysterious, and Book of Shadows doesn’t dare to reveal too much of them. All I can say is, BW2 isn’t Oscar-worthy, but it most certainly isn’t worth it’s Razzie for worst picture. I thoroughly enjoyed it, loved the rich, contrasting characters, the slow build of tension, and the horrible revelation that they have all been touched by the witch long before they even considered her as possibly being real. And finally, what an incredible soundtrack. Give it a try if you’re a Blair Bitch.
I thought this movie was a bloody good sequal to the first film. I mean I loved the first film, for its difference and now this film comes out and I too love this film for its difference also.
It may not have the best acting in the world, but what I look for in a film is difference and this sure as hell brought that difference to screen.
A great film that doesn’t try to emulate part 1, but instead comes up with an original idea all of its own. I was transfixed, but to get the full experience you need to see the special edition with the extra pseudo-documentaries that accompany the film.
The film is a good watch if a you like anything out of the ordinary. It doesn’t keep to the original which is good, ok if your with a girl I suppose.
Loved it! thought it was much better than the original and was actually creepy. Also had a crazy twisful ending.I LOVE KIM DIRECTOR!!! The Peggy grocery store scene was hilarious! Worth a watch right there.
This is a gem of a movie very well crafted. Too me this film got a bad rap because it makes fun of the die hard blair witch fans of the first one. If you dont own this film go out now and buy it now.
I like this one. It was better than the first one.
I really like this movie.
It’s not for everyone, but I love this series. It’s fun and creepy
One of the most ridiculous, most stupid, most superfluous movies ever made. A bunch of unbelievably moronic characters (dumb goth bitch, dumb wannabe-wiccan, dumb I’m-so-cool-and-trendy-guy etc.) who drink, smoke, fuck, film and kill in the woods of the Blair Witch. It has no tension, no suspense, no atmosphere, nothing scary or creepy; the plot is extremely terrible and it’s filled to capacity with horrid dialogue, poor effects and unintentionally funny scenes. Crap.
an interesting premise, not as ridiculous as its made out to be
Quite liked it, as a separate film from the first movie. Bit rubbish, but still liked it.
A steaming pile of shit. Used an interesting concept, where this film became self-reflexive as to the first film, but turned it into a huge stinking shit pile of nonsense. Absolutely nothing enjoyable or redeemable about anything that happens. Even makes you like the first film a little less. More information here:

i think it is really ashame that blair witch 2 gets such a bad rep. I really liked it i thought the writing was very good and the acting was just surperb. i really liked the idea of showing the fans going into burkisvill and trying to discover if the blair witch legened is true. and i really liked the tone of the film as well and the message of how film lies but video tells the truth and how it was a big mystery if the kids did those horrible acts of violence or if the witch made the kids do it. it kept me thinking and guessing. and i really liked the big twist at the end. so i really dont understand why this film gets such a bad rap. i was really glade the director and writers tried to do some thing really diffrent then just rehashing the first film. I loved the first one as well. see it you wont be disappointed in my opinion.
i think this movie IS very underrated and it was going to hard making 2 after huge success from the Blair Witch made in (1999). – But i liked this one much better
The acting here was reasonable as well, and the characters seemed real enough to me. And other thing this movie dose set is a strange atmosphere and you donâe(TM)t know what hell is happening until the closing ten minutes tie things together.
What a twist at end, i never saw that coming and that one of other reason i enjoyed this!
Eh, just didn’t feel this movie. Only thing that made it worth watching was drooling over Kim Director the whole time. Other than that, I would’ve passed had I known what was in store.
i was a teenager when this film was released so i was instantly attracted to the magic and witch element of it. even now when i watch it i still enjoy it, although it completely falls away from the film i still find it entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Very creepy. Very well done. Much different from the first but still keeps the mystique of the Blair Witch alive.
I like this better than the Original! The original was a good film to watch once. After that the novelty wears off. This one has allot of rewatchability. This film was a great mind-f#ck of a movie.Solid acting, pacing, and a better ending than the first one.Worth a watch.Burn Notice fans will recognize a familiar face.
I actually liked this movie. Although I watched it before I’ve ever seen the first one, but I liked it. However, I did NOT like the first one. I bought it on movies on demand one day and I just think I wasted like 4 bucks on that piece of crap. I didn’t even see anything. It didn’t show shit. Just people screaming and running like retards. Anyways, that’s all.
This movie sucks. What else can I say? The first movie is actually creepy, this movie is nonsense.
This movie was so stupid….
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, the sequel to The Blair Witch, takes us back to Burkitsville, Maryland where Jeffrey Patterson (Jeffrey Donovan) has started a blair witch hunt tour to make some cash off the events that happened in the original Blair Witch movie. A group of students decide to
take the tour each with their own agenda. Tristine(Tristine Skyler) and Stephen (Stephen Barker Turner) are writing a book on the blair witch, Erica (Erica Leerhsen) a wicca who hopes to find and learn from the blair witch and Kim (Kim Director) who plays the roll of a goth. They all head into the woods on the tour but wake up the next morning to find their camp in disarray and unable to remember anything that happened the night before. All they have are the tapes from their camcorders. As they try to find out what happened that night, strange things continue to occur and they are unaware of who or what is behind them.
Joe Berlinger tries his hand at directing this sub-par story but didn’t come out on top. I felt detached and only wanting to see the tapes to know what happened, nothing else that happened in the movie really mattered. The story was pretty unoriginal, missing a lot of characterization and actual entertaining scenes. The actors didn’t really do anything to change the downward slide and couldn’t draw me in.
Joe Berlinger didn’t follow the same camera techniques as the original blair witch and it probably saved this film, somewhat. If he would have gone with the first person view I believe the movie would have flopped even more based on how well the original was done.
There are some quick gore scenes throughout the film to satisfy an itch and the plot never made me use my imagination so we are lacking quite a bit of what makes a horror movie, a horror movie.
All in all I couldn’t shake the undying need to know what happened on those tapes. After I found out the action finally started to pick up but a little too late. If interested give this a peek but don’t go out of your way.
