Kind of torn on this one. I firmly believe the ‘good’ outweighs the ‘bad’ here… but there’s enough ‘bad’ to irk me enough to not like this film. I think one of the biggest problems here is ‘H20′ (terrible title) was birthed out of success brought on by the ‘Scream’ films. I mean, look at the damn poster. Now look at the ‘Scream’ poster. Questions? Believe me, I will take my Michael Myers in any fashion, even if I hate what materializes (‘Revenge of M. Myers’;'Resurrection’; ‘Rob Zombie’s'), as long as they keep making the films… maybe someone can get it right. Steve Miner came close. He went back to the roots of the franchise and brought back Laurie Strode’s story to give it some closure. With that said, here’s what irked me: Josh Hartnett as baby Strode who can’t comb his fucking hair; Michael Myers’ mask changing its look every other shot; moving the story from Haddonfield to California; LL Cool J (wtf?!); The lack of an Alan Howarth score; ALL of the characters/actors with the exception of Jamie Lee Curtis. Couple that with the amount of fake ‘jump-scares’ and you have one annoyed Halloween fan. I did love most of the climax/showdown of the film, though I found its conclusion to be too definitive for a Halloween movie. It’s a valiant effort, but ultimately only a cut above the ‘Halloween 6′ (yeah, I said it).

I didn’t think H20 was a bad movie it had a decent story line I just didn’t like the conclusion to the film at all and I really didn’t like it getting the Scream Treatment either and I honsetly have to say I like the scream series but, I don’t want my halloween resembling scream hell there even some parts of the scream score in H20! It also was lame the Loomis wasn’t in it even though that couldn’t be helped because he passed away and I just don’t think Laurie is that great of a protagnist for the film it would of been better off tying 4,5,and 6 together and beleive you could have done that it’s possible than just egnoring 4 whitch was one of the sequels or you could of abdoned the story in 5 and 6 and tyed 4 with 7 it could of been done.

I really enjoyed this film I thought the reuniting between Michael and Laurie was done great. It did seem a lot like the scream movies but I still really enjoyed this. For me it’s the third best in the series. I liked the ending and thought that was the perfect way to end the series overall this was a great sequel thank god no more thorn. This is the type which you rather liked it or didn’t and I really liked it.

Very good sequel. Definitely the best, in my opinion, since Halloween 2. However, it had too much in common with the ‘Scream’ brand of horror to be really thrilling or scary, which I found to be slightly irritating.

not as good as I was hoping it to be but fun overall seeing jamie lee curtis return, i dont like that they discount the sequels and the jamie loyd character, but i understand why they did it. also, not being in haddonfield was a bit different too, casting was okay other than jamie lee curtis, i ddint feel much sympathy for any of the characters aside from her.
not bad, but could have beeen a real masterpiece sequel to the original 2

This movie is cool just for bringing back Laurie. And it has an awesome ending even if it turns out not to be what you think in the next movie.

Definitely suffers from Dawson’s Creek-syndrome, with too many adults playing teenagers spouting dialogue that teenagers don’t say. The only cool thing about the movie is the return of Laurie Strode, but seeing her back is SO wonderful I can completely forgive everything else. When Laurie locks herself inside the school, grabs an axe, screams her brother’s name and the Halloween theme starts, I got chills and misty eyes. I even CRIED at the ending, it was powerful and beautiful.

As far as I’m concerned, this was the last Halloween film ever made. After the last two, I will never watch any new Halloween film ever again. The series ended on the *perfect* note with this one.

The return of Jamie Lee! I quite enjoy H20 as it does reunite the ultimate villian/victim for another round 20 years later. I liked what the writer did with the Laurie character by making her fake her own death and placed her living in California under an assumed name thinking that the nightmare to be over. Liked how they also made her a closet drunk , using alcohol to calm her constant jangling nerves. This film had to compete with the ‘Scream’ movies when being made and it shows , thanks to the young Dawson Creek -esqe cast and the school setting but Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams aren’t that grating thank god. Some OK kills, especially the leg breaking but not over gory and I love the fact that Laurie takes a stand and decided to go one on one with her brother and end his reign of terror for good. Putting her mother Janet Leigh in a cameo role is nothing but a stroke a genuis. As far as i’m concerned the series ended on a high with this one. Sister finally kills brother and that’s that.

I think they just wanted to do what new line done with freddy and jason… and finally defeat Michael Myers it wasn’t the best portrayal of Laurie Strode but it was a good sequel

I only wish that they’d have done it sooner. It would have been great to see Dr.Loomis & Laurie Strode together again. It was nice to see the nurse from the first two films back on screen. Not all bad, but could have been better!!! I hate that they show his eyes through the mask. He looks more menacing with just the black & abysmal eye sockets!!!

huge michael myers fan.. this movie was not great but it had its moments. by far the best scene in the movie was when jamie lee curtis slams the door shut and sees her brother for the first time in 20 years through the little circular window.. it gave me chills.. the build up to that scene was great..

Here’s what bugs me: they take the fact that Laurie Strode is supposed to be dead from H4 and H5, but acknowledge nothing else from those two movies. Other than that, I dug this movie for what it was. LL Cool J I could have done without, but this was a whole lot better than RESURRECTION.

I am rating this as a seperate movie as I have not seen any of the Halloween’s other than the Rob Zombie Remake yet. I do not know how the other ones go, but I was a little disappointed with the death scenes. The ones at the begininning of the movie don’t seem necessary as you show the antagonist before any thing even really gets going, nor do you get to see the ice skate death which could have been the best one in the movie. At least make the character uniform throughtout, if he is going to go through the trouble of offing them, why let the mother and daughter live at the secluded rest stop. Yes i know its faux paux to kill the little kid but come on. The background story was overall done well, with the school and everything. It seems like the movie did try to stretch a little bit. I could see the non death of LL Cool J coming, but it’s not like he mattered after he comes back so why not just let him die. I really like the idea of Laurie coming back to try and take care of Michael after she sends the kids off. It was a nice plot change since everyone told her she had to get over him. What I do have a problem is it didn’t seem like she thought it over to well as she just runs down hallways screaming his name. Wjhat was with the knife throwing in the kitchen?? Like I stated I am basing the review on this movie alone until I see the others. Not a bad movie by any means. The story was decent, made sense and the acting was alright. The deaths were pretty bad if all two of the ones you actually get to see and it just seems like Michael wasn’t that into killing that day for whatever reason. If you a psycho serial killer you need to puit some joy into it, even with a mask the body language just was not there. With just a tad more suspense and build-up and maybe seeing the kid from 3rd Rock take the skate to the face I would have given this a 7, but as it stands this will probably just go down as a 1 time watch.

Halloween H2O now isn’t this a blast from the past this movie was not bad. It is a movie that has the original Laurie Strode in it one Ms Jamie Lee Curtis. Im Canadian so the movie was not restricted but rated 14a. This movie was not to shabby. It had the then rising Josh Hartnett in it. I was fourteen when this movie came out I have not watched it lately but still I remember it being a neet little film not a fantastic film. But I loved finding some of the mutalated corpses. “LL Cool J” James Todd Smith was amusing as the security guard talking on the phone. It was not that bad had some bumps but a cool film none the less

Great sequel, its kind of like a part 3 to Halloween 2 as it ignores the storylines from parts 4-6. I like the fact that Laurie finally grew some balls and stood up to her big brother and she won! But the monster that is Hollywood will NEVER let Michael die.

Im not much into sequels from great movies, especially ones that are number 3-8 in the franchise, but I heard good things about this one. Jamie Lee Curtis and a good cast lead this one to being a better sequel than most could ever be. It wasn’t a cheap movie and it kept my interest. This was a good one, but nothing special. I give it a 6/10!

Despite cheap and needless jump scares and an occasional pointless scene, a respectful and faithful (true) follow-up with dignity. Friday the 13th-director Steve Miner brings well-paced and focused suspense, some characters and a good final. And just like American Psycho II: All American Girl, the following Halloween: Resurrection doesn’t exist…

This is what killed the series. This horrible excuse of a Halloween movie. Horrible, teenage acting, a stupid version of Myers, some stupid script one liners and a terrible plot. God, why did I even watch this? It isn’t at all scary, and all the spark from previous movies has just been lost. This is the worst Halloween movie by far!

    2/10

Ok to review this Money, you have to take it and put into 3 Catagories! The GOOD, The BAD, and The Ugly! The Good being Jamie Lee Curtis’s return as Laurie Strode, we missed you, the Bad being it was alittle too late for Donald Pleasance who played Dr.Sam Loomis has passed away following pt 6, and a reunion between their Characters would have been wonderful to say the least! Now the Ugly, Josh Hartlett?? I didn’t care for his Performance in this Film nor did I care for LL Cool J and “Comedic” Turn as a security Guard.. It took away from the chills and spills that could have made this Movie! The Story obviously picks up 20 Years Later from the Events of the first Halloween and we find out Laurie is not only alive after faking her Death, shes also the Head Mistress at some Elite Boarding School in California, is a “Functioning” Alcholic and also has a Teenage Son! Meanwhile, Michael has “Finally” found her and decides to pay her a Visit for some Family Bonding time! Her Son and his Friends decide to Party more or less and Ditch a School Field Trip and stay behind without anyone knowing. Needless to say, Michael decides to get an early start on Thankgiving and Carve these Kids Up! All this leads to a Final Showdown between Laurie and her Brother and Family Reunions have never been the same since! Ok, I can buy into the faking ones own Death, but WHERE IN THE HELL HAS MICHAEL BEEN FOR 20 YEARS? I also take it that we are to forget the events of Halloweens 4-6, since Laurie, when explaining to her “Lover” she faked her Death never mentions she also had a Daughter that she put up for Adoption. Nothing from these films are mentioned. So are we to disregard these Movies like they don’t excist and if thats the case, then I want to know what did I spend my Money on when went and Saw these the First Time, and since they never happened, can I get my Money Back? Anyways, I sat through the Teen Angst and the “Funny” Security Guard and everything in between to Finally get to the last 10-15 minutes of this Movie and man, what a Climax it was! Laurie Takes Michael knowing he’ll “Rise again”, runs him down, pinning Him to a Tree, and with Tears in her Eyes, gets an Ax and Beheads that Bastard!!! Wow, this was probably the best part of this Whole Movie and a fitting end to the Legacy of Michael, Although, by Halloween Resurrection, this too never “Happened”! This isn’t a Bad Movie, it is alittle more intelligent than most Sequels, and the Kills are relatively few “like the original” compared to other Outings and basically you could watch Halloween 1, 2 and H2o back to back and get a pretty decent ‘Trillogy” so overall, it’s worth a Look, if anything, just for the last few Minutes…

The magnificent Jamie Lee Curtis is back on board and Michael Myers is as impressive as in Part 1. This is a worthy sequel to the first two films and would’ve made a satisfying finale to the series. It caters to the wants of the fans and delivers some great thrills, in the second half. The buildup was a little weak, but the payoff more than makes up for it. One of the best out of the sequels.

I don’t think this movie gets the credit it deserves. It’s the best Halloween since the first one. All the sequels sucked (especially part 3) and this brought Halloween back to life, only to be followed by THE worst Halloween movie behind part 3; Halloween Resurrection. Anyway, back to H20, if you haven’t seen it, go see it. I really wish that this was the last in the series because it had a good finale. Laurie Strode is back, but she changed her name to avoid Michael ever coming back for her, and now she is the head of a private school in California. It has been twenty years since that Halloween night in 1978 and she now has a son (Josh Hartnett) Good movie, go check it out if you like Halloween.
