It doesn’t get much worse than this, folks. Unless of course, you’re watching ‘Rob Zombie’s Halloween’. Where do you begin with a shit-fest like this? Um, taking an iconic horror figure like Michael Myers and blending his storyline with the Internet Age is like putting orange juice in milk. The idea that this film would be shot like that awful MTV show, ‘Fear’ was the first strike. The second was a complete disregard for the end of Steve Miner’s entry (H20). While that film isn’t much better, at least it was trying to stay classy. Upon the opening moments of Rick Rosenthal’s second entry in the series, we find out that the whole climax of Miner’s film is phony. Therefore, the next time you watch ‘H20′, if you should so choose to do so, is essentially ruined for all-time. If I was Miner, I would be one pissed director. The cast is beyond bad. The inclusion of Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks is unforgiveable. There are moments in the film where you can’t believe what you’re seeing because it’s so moronic and poorly directed/acted. The only saving grace is Myers himself. Brad Loree gives a fine performance in a crap film. The mask also looks great. Shame on director Rick Rosenthal, the same man who gave us the decent follow-up, ‘Halloween II’. I can’t imagine he isn’t completely embarassed by this film. Horrible.

This is the WORST in the series, and one of the worst movies ever made!!! But I totally disagree that Rob Zombie’s Halloween was worse. That’s just an ignorant statement to make! Especially since this is supposed to be a review about Halloween: Resurrection, not another spot for you to post your negative thoughts on Rob Zombie.

Truly awful. I turned it off as soon as (Spoilers ahead)

Laurie Strode died. Why would they even let her character die? It’s stupid.

Dimension Films Should be Ashamed of themselves for making this movie. Halloween movies are suppossed to be good!!!

Halloween Resurrection is really goood because it haves what halloween fans want,Michael Myers killing teenagers on halloween night. This movie haves everything a halloween movie should have scary and long chase scenes,Michael being scary, blood, gore, sex and drugs and Laurie Strode returning for the last time.

Halloween Resurrection is one of favorite Halloween movies! I love it! It’s awesome that Busta Rhymes starts a web show in Michael Myers’ house and some young adults are locked in until the show is over. Little do they know, Michael is in the house with them and he hates un-invited guests, so he starts killing them. Some people hate that Busta Rhymes is karate chopping Michael, but I have no problem at all with it! I love the ending when Busta says “Ttick or treat, mother fu#ker!”

Whoever wrote did must really hate John Carpenter and all the Halloween fans why would someone like Busta Rhymes be in this film and why why one earth have him kung-fu fight Michael Myers. I fell bad for Jamie Lee for being in this film and had to actually die. Have Busta Rhymes die not Laurie Strode. My God if the next movie hadn’t been a remake we might have ended up seeing Mr. T and Hulk Hogan Boxing a Wrestling Michael Myers. I am disgusted with Rick Rosenthal and still hate him for letting a rapper Kung-fu fight Michael Myers.

The first ten minutes of the movie killed it with its own knife..literally. the only thing that could have saved the movie was killed off before anything. The only thing good about this film was the fact that it seemed as if it was better funded then the other ones even though H2O was way better.

Alright, people. There is no way this is one of the worst films ever made. A good film, no, but this makes Zombies Gone Wild, Hillside Cannibals, and House of the Dead look like Gone With the Wind.

Although i didnt hate this movie as much as everybody else did, the title resurrection is completely silly and has no meaning when they explain things at the beginning of this film.
ims urprised that jamie lee curtis would be in short a short length part of the movie, they try to advertise her like she’s the star of this one again like she was h20, that’s not the case, although i admit i had a blast watching the movie, it didnt have alot of clever script writing.

Pure garbage from concept to execution. What a horrible shame.

I personally believe that this film is what terminated the further creation of classically structured stylized symbolic slashers for several years.

Laurie Strode was the genre’s key symbol of purity. Killing her, just to shove her aside with pure disrespect, in the first ten minutes of the film especially, was not only horrible storytelling, it was the most irresponsible thing that had ever happened to the classic horror genre.

Theres things I hate about this film, and there are things I like about this film.
Hate: Mainly, this film did not need to happen. The fact that they made up this huge bullshit story on how Michael survived H20 is just simply put — retarded. Okay, with that said, why did they have to have Jamie Lee Curtis’ character in it? Let her character be for God’s sake. There was no reason for her to die. It basically ruines the series. As you’re watching the original, you’re going to be thinking “OH NO SHE DIES IN 22 YEARS!”
Why I like it: Now, I thought the whole story wasn’t all that bad. I liked the idea of Michael going back to the house to come across a slew of teenagers who are all participating in a reality show. I thought when the kills started coming, it was good old fun.
So bascially, the first 10-15 minutes of the film didn’t need to happen. Honestly, I’d literally rather a copy-cat psycho dressed as Michael, other than the bullshit they did with ruining H20 and the Laurie Strode character.

Resurrection had many problems but it also had some really good things about it:

    Good;
    1) You get to see Tyra Banks die.
    2) Busta Rhymes round house kicks Michael
    3) You get to see Tyra Banks die.
    4) The ending in a way makes you want more.
& 5) You get to see Tyra Banks die.

    Bad;
    1) The acting at most parts was horrendous.
    2) Tyra Banks death is too fast.
    3) The death scenes were ok…
    4) Tyra Banks was in this movie..
    5) Busta Rhymes knows karate?
    6) The dialouge was dreadful.

But, in all honesty. I really liked this movie. Even though it sucked. In the end, I got to see Tyra Banks die! :]

People moan and groan about Zombie’s redo. Come on the franchise took a wrong turn with this piece of crap. Other than what was a fairly strong opening with Jamie Lee, this movie went down hill fast and needed some help. Like Zombie’s redo or not, it brought Michael back and on the right track. The 2 rating is pushing it extremely.

The worst Halloween movie ever. First mistake, killing off Laurie Strode. Second mistake, the awful z grade cast. Busta Rhymes enough said. Third mistake , the plot. Myers on a web reality show , bloody hell. Even the kill scenes were a snore fest and don’t get me started on the explanation at the start of the film of how Myers survived H20, where this series should have really ended. Everybody involved in the making of this steaming pile should be ashamed, especially Rick Rosenthal considering he directed part 2.

Why oh Why…..this film is so bad on so many levels….it’s boring, no plot and when horror films get rappers in to play “stereotypical “clown-around” characters with stupid one line gags which are so predictable you know you have a major problem….Everyone goes on about how bad Halloween III (cos Michael Myers was not in it)..well he’s in this rubbish…explain? this has to be the worse Halloween in the franchise. Even my brother whose a massive Halloween fan fell asleep 20mins into the film and has refused to watch it since…it think he burnt the DVD.

The one thing that this movie did have was a good mask. The many masks that were used in H20 just didn’t have the same feel as any of the other films. That is one negative I had with H20 but the Myers mask in Resurrection just looked sweet. I do agree that after the opening of the film, which was actually not a worthy end for “you know who” in my opinion, the movie dropped several cool points. Its sad too cause they got the guy who directed the 2nd film, its the first time someone has come back to the series as director. It could have been so much better…without the computer shite and without the dumb empty characters. Damn.

The kills were better than in the first one that’s for sure, and the whole idea of the movie was EXCELLENT! It was a big step up from H20.H20 didnt have enough kills. Reasons to hate this movie:

    1. They kill off Laurie Strode.
    2. It makes the end of H20 make no sense.
    3. It’s revealed that Michael Myers just hangs out under his house until he feels like killing something.
    4. The asinine reality show plot.
    5. The cops don’t believe the kids when they call. Seriously? “Hey, cops, some people are being murdered!” “Fuck you kids, it’s Halloween. You must be pulling a prank.” Goddammit.
    6. The annoying and consistent “check out this shot from all these different shitty camcorder angles” way of filming.
    7. Tyra Banks.
    8. Busta Rhymes.
    9. The dozen one liners Busta has in the last five minutes of the movie. “Trick or treat mutha fucka”, “burn mutha fucka”, “hey Mikey, happy Halloween” etc etc
    10. A thoroughly disappointing and anti-climactic finale.

Easily the worst Halloween movie that features Michael Myers. Cept maybe Rob Zombie’s remake.

Well you would think bringing Jamie Lee back it had hope buuuut no.In fact the only time this movie is worth watching is the 12 minutes in the beginning she is in it.This is by far the weakest entry in the series ESPECIALLY (and i know some don’t agree) after the great sequel that was H20! Even part 6 was stupid with its plot but offerd some suspense from the start til the end! This thing just got thrown around it seems and the shacky camera thing wasn’t working! Michael is my favorite villain of all time and I love them all(besides 3,8,and the remake was just o.k.) but this one was the worst! Still I can’t hate it because its a Michael movie and its opening with heroin legend Curtis was good(although…spoiler……her death was weak!another thing i hated) So being part of one of my favorite series’ ever saves this weakest link.

The title of the movie makes it sound incredible but the movie is far fro brilliant. It’s a ok to watch because it brings michael into the new generation, but the house thing is stupid because another family lived in there after the myers family. Btw in H2 (1981) michael got burned, but after H5 michael had no burns on his hands? you can tell Dimension films just ask & pay any random guy to write the scripts. Once Laurie’s dead there’s no plot so she should’ve died in H20. I’ve got a plot for Dimenson, Lyndsey wallace is still alive & lives in haddonfield michael kills her but dr loomis’s has moved to haddonfield 2 months before with his 17 year old son, so he can be portrayed as laurie & dr loomis’s son will end up being like his father. H20 did such a good job of creating atmosphere, suspense, and respected the stalker aspect of Michael. I was hyped, even after the date was pushed back for re-shoots for Resurrection. I haven’t seen that steaming pile of shit since opening night. Busta Rhymes going Bruce Lee on Michael was goofy- and to a nerd like me, pretty fucking blasphemous. I remember expecting Laurie’s character to pop up at any moment, like maybe she had escaped, and tracked Michael down to have some final epic fight to the death. This movie was disrespectful to fans of the series. To sum up everything that was wrong with this garbage, isn’t it the only film in the Halloween series to credit Michael Myers as Michael Myers rather than “The Shape”?
This movie made Zombie’s remake and sequel a breath of fresh air. Anything continued off of Resurrection would have been a disaster. I’m an avid completest, and still refuse to own this movie. My personal collection ends with H20 and starts off again with the remake. Pretend this abortion of a slasher film in a respected genre series never fucking happened.

After the first 5 minutes, this film has no point. *SPOILER ALERT* Once he finally succeeds in offing the sister he’s been chasing since part one, why is he still killing a bunch of strangers?! And who the hell told Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks they could act?! Yikes!!!
To sum it up: this movie is stupid and has no point….but what do you expect? It’s the 8th installment to the Halloween franchise, so it should be no shocker that this sucks! Still bloody fun, though.

I must admit that I was pissed off when I heard about this. H20 ended on such a perfect note and the idea for keeping Michael alive just makes no sense. I recognise that this is a cliche ridden sequel, designed to just pump more money out of the series but I suppose htis is a guilty pleasure. I am a sucker for slashers and I just found this fun, I’ve seen a hell of a lot worse! The deaths were so-so, the acting was bad and there was no need for this but in the end it is an entertaining flick and is designed for the sleepover generation just getting into horror.

**THIS COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS** See the problem with this and any slasher film series , Yes Friday The 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street included there is NOTHING linking one film to the next For this Franchise they lost it in Part 3 (Season Of The Witch) , Laurie goes away after part 2 and doesn’t reappear until H20 there was nothing linking the films after that there was a cult that “controlled” Michael ? come on Michael was killing Cousins , nieces , nephews , ect .. Then he FINALLY kills Laurie in the first scene of This film , which killed it for me . I really enjoyed Zombie’s Halloween reimagining and Sequal . They were very well made and added something unique to Michael and the telling of the Story as well , I know Zombie gets alot of s**t for his writting style (the over use of swearing) but I think that is how these people would really talk in these situations I really enjoyed the more vocal Laurie Strode as aposed to JLC more quiet , confused silent Laurie Strode , Scout was able to bring a newer more modern stronger Laurie to the film and I think it lent itself well to the first film , In H2 you really see the effects of Halloween on Laurie and slowly as the film progresses you see how it is slowly driving Laurie crazy ,where as in the original H2 there is no time to see the effects on Laurie because it takes place literally minutes after the first film ended I enjoyed Zombies H2 for the effect of you get to see more of the mental aspect of the events of Halloween as it flashes forward 1 year (2 in the director’s cut) when she finds out she is Michael’s sister and it all makes sense to her she finally snaps mentally the end of that film is amazing I must say the ending of the Theatrical film screams sequal but the directors cut leaves no room for a sequal . I have written a script for H3 (continuing Zombie’s series) however after watching both The theatrical and Director’s cuts of both films he was trying to end his series in two films and to me that was genius he did what all the other directors couldn’t do he told the complete story in 2 films . After watching both films about 12 times each I can’t see any “questions” that I need awnsered to the point where there needs to be an H3 . I know H3 is set to be made (A mistake in my opinion) but I think they need to reboot it and not make a 3rd movie in Zombie’s series because he’s not directing and Scout said she might not do it and let’s be honest how damaging would it be to recast Laurie Strode / Angel Myers at this point ? Tyler Mane has said he might not do it and to me he’s the best (Scariest) Michael Myers EVER ! They can’t have a normal sized guy play Michael that was one of my big issues with the original series they had all these short guys playing Michael and to me that’s not scary to see Tyler Mane stalking Annie or Laurie was scary just based on his size in relation to the girls . The biggest problem with the original series was Season Of The Witch .
Getting back to what I was saying about slasher films not having any links from film to film here are some examples in the Friday series at one point there had an imposter Jason going around and killing people at Camp Blood Awnser me this if Jason Drowned and was afraid of the water why does he hold onto the ships chain in part 8 Jason Takes A Vacation I mean Jason Takes Manhattan see there’s a great example After that Jason goes to Hell and then into space the dumbest idea in slasher film history . In the Nightmare Series they were all over the place they ran out of good ideas after I would say part 3 as well . So IHC ( Internet Horror Community) There are issues with all the great slasher film series but most (Not all) have some good stuff in them the kills are usually pretty cool even if the stories don’t have much behind them . We all love slasher films I have all the Friday The 13th films , All the Nightmare films and all (except Season of the Witch) the Halloween films and the remakes . I will check out H3 when it is released just to see how it stacks up against my script to see where they take the story my script for H3 fallows Zombies H2 pretty well I think Enjoy your slasher they won’t be around forever .

I dont know why everyone hates on this movie, its better than 5,6,h20,and the remakes.I thought they should have left Busta Rhymes out of it but other than that it was pretty good.

Probably the most hated of the series, besides ‘Curse’. However, I find this film to be more entertaining than part 6 and actually watchable. I agree that it is an inferior sequel to H2O and it has many problems, but I found some things to like here including a great deal of camp. Call it a guilty pleasure. Also, you have to give the writers some credit for actually coming up with a legitimately clever (albeit inferior) reason as to why Michael has returned.

This was a horrid-movie, not a horror movie. Saw it once in the theater…wish I could get a refund. Putrid story, putrid characters, and the atmosphere was so phoney I could almost hear the crew members yelling “action” just beyond the television boundaries. Jamie Lee Curtis should truthfully be slightly ashamed for involving herself in this one, especially considering when she let happen to her original “debut” film-role character. A sheer insult to fans of the original, and horror fans in general. I’d vote this a negative 3 if I could.

Horrible movie! How they made Michael Myers survive from Halloween H20 makes no sense. There was really no need to make this movie.

As terrible as this film is, I can’t help but revisit it now and then just for Busta Rhymes one- liners. “trick r treat, mutha fuc*a” “lookin’ crispy there Mikey, you look like chicken- fried mutha fuc*ka”. As much as I dislike Zombie’s Halloween (really dug H2 though) it certainly wasn’t any worse than the direction this series was headed. I mean, who really thought this was a good idea? If you have yet to see this one, it’s kind of a must see just for the hilarity of the whole thing. “LET THE DANGERTAINMENT BEGIN OUT THIS MUTHA FUC*KA!”
