Posted By Skratchy on May 30, 2009 @ 5:19 pm Log in to Reply ★★★★☆ Obviously crappier than the original, but it’s really good in the over the top cheesy gross sort of way. Highly recommended for a mindless gory sequel. Posted By LuJr81 on October 25, 2009 @ 1:05 pm Log in to Reply ★★★★★ People don’t give this movie the credit it deserves. I mean yeah, its not better than the original,BUT its a great sequel. I think they picked a great lead in Edward Furlong, he was in his “hey-day” at the time, still going of his “John Connor” fame. I like that it kept its dark tone from the original. Recommended. Posted By Rusted on October 25, 2009 @ 1:14 pm Log in to Reply ★☆☆☆☆ Awful movie. I wonder how could Mary Lambert go from directing a good original movie to a downright shit sequel. This movie has good ideas and set pieces but are all executed by someone who clearly doesn’t give a fuck how it turns out. Yes, there is more gore and blood but violence and sfx don’t make a good movie. A wasted opportunity. Posted By ParanoidAndy on July 11, 2010 @ 4:15 am Log in to Reply ★★★★☆ This is a cool sequal. The story isn’t nearly as compelling as the original, but the violence is taken up a notch. Also, there is an awesome zombie dog in this thing. Sure, it’s bizare at times, and a bit cheesy, but a lot of fun. More based around the kids makes it a little different and not just the same story being told twice. Part 2 is so unbelievably bad, it’s incredible. Lots of extremely annoying and/or unlikeable actors, unimpressive-looking settings, a boring soundtrack (of course not from Elliot Goldenthal) and poor dialogue. The pacing is terribly tedious, the plot is beyond stupid and I totally hate the fact that they wanted to turn this into some weird kind of horror-comedy. Apart from 2-3 nice gore scenes and an ok ending, this is an insult to Stephen King and all of his fans.
