Not fresh, loses the suspense contained in the first, but the deaths are really cool and the new rules are interesting.
Good job.
worstof the trillogy
Loved it. Great 2nd one to the series. The death scenes were awesome. The best I think is the log to the head on the freeway or the ladder impalement to the eye.
It was alright i didnt really care for this one.
this one was a piece of hot nasty shit!! a car crash…! dnt we see anough of that shit in action movies!!’
ill give it a 2 for trying
Usually sequels aren’t as good but this one was great. Much better than the first one. The deaths were cool and the acting was better. love this movie.
This time we’re following a group of characters who are only alive because of the events in the first film. But it’s only so long before Death catches up with them too. The kills in this one are really cool, and the characters are better written. Actually expands and improves on the original.
of course not as good as the first, but a very well done horror film that definatly follows the first one and has alot to do with the elements of the first and the effects of things changed by the first movie, which was well written and well thought out. i dont understand why devon sawa turned down this sequel when it’s obvious he hasnt had much of a career to brag about
better deaths than the first one
Surprisingly, it’s a whole lot more interesting to watch, much more well acted, has a much deeper and better written plot and set of characters, and is just much better than both the first and the third installments in pretty much every way.
this is one of those times where a sequel is actually better than the first one i thought it was great and the death scenes were great better than the first and third one, but they had a different director so the good thing is that the fourth one will be really violent and Gorey like the second and just as good or better
Great movie..love the whole series.
hilarious fucken movie…the kid blowing up at the end…his arm landing on his mothers plate…BEST PART OF THE MOVIE…XD
Wasnt as good as the first movies, i felt this was just recycled
i loved this movie and in fact i love this whole series… fd and saw are this generations freddy, michael, and jason.
Gorefest. This films is definately better than the original, and alot gorier. The whole premonition is so well made and filmed. A plane crash, yeah is cool, but a car pile-up is way cooler. The film’s oremise is definately not the best, but one scene in the middle where it’s discovered that all the survivors of the car pile-up where all supposed to die a year earlier, but couldn’t because the survivors of the plane crash all died, which somehow connected the pile-up’s survivors. The plot was defintaley complex, but it was good in explaining what was happening so we didn’t get too confused. The ending was also really cool, and creative.
The plot, well the plot was really fun with every death really creative and thought out. The directing in the film would be really hard with the car pile-up and all the crashes throughout the film. No visable plot holes, made the film enjoyable.
The acting was a little sketchy. Ali Larter always seems to have the same tone, which is really irritating in this sort of role. She could never quite crack it for me. A.J Cook, was the standout and really made an impression. Michale Landes was also very good at his role as an officer. He really shone through to make the role more likeable, than what I believe from dialogue, it was supposed to be.
Overall “Final Destination 2″, is a very gory, fast paced film, that doesn’t fail to be enjoyed. My rating is 4/5.
brilliant movie, far surpassed the origin, the kills in this movie are so inventive and creative, i love the original but i think this movie progresses the overall story brilliantly and just everything is far better than the first, much better charachter development an excellent script and a load of gore, what more do you want from a slasher movie, simply brilliant a must must must must see !!!
awsome
cool deaths fun movie
While this is a good movie it is my least favorite final destination movie…It starts off brilliantly has a creepy opening scene and the car crash is awesome and so is the whole movie up until the last minute at the picnic thing when the grill explodes and the hand lands in front of the mom ans she starts screaming..that was stupid…but besides that this movie is good but just not my favorite
Best of the series….
I really enjoyed this horror film, the science, the way things work and the creative and brutal deaths, it’s caught my dream that’s for sure. I quite liked the death were the fence he’s fired and slashes through the druggy, although I feel sorry for the guy for he was sweet with his mother and all.
The problems I found with it though was that the character from the last film died even though I guess she was meant to, still preferred if she lived. I mainly disliked how the main character thought she’d get out of it, just made things confusing really such as she was trying to kill herself yet knew she would still be living afterwards and stuff like that, really made done my head in that’s for sure.
Overall I still say I loved the deaths and the science of it, I say it’s one heck of a good movie.
Meh. Not as good as the first. Just more of the same though.
This, for me, is the best of the series! The deaths are just so creative! And the car crash scene is the best out of the plane crash and rollercoaster crash from the 1st and 3rd. This one is pacey and has a great storyline and even greater deaths!
My least favorite of the trilogy, but still a great movie. Had great gore and very creative deaths. Keeps you in the whole time.
Not better than the original, but better than the third, in my opinion. Great kills and a kick ass opening pile up on the highway. Highly recommended.
Now this is how you do a sequel. To me this movie did everything it possibly could right. It had an insane opening sequence that was built up and when shit hit the fan it HIT THE FAN. It had continuity with ali larter’s character and it had a story that connected everyone from the previous film to this one. So it wasn’t just saying death randomly picked them it was for a reason. I really don’t have any complaints about this movie. It had two leads that you actually wanted to see beat death (though so did part 1) Just a great sequel.
This is totally how you do a sequel! I almost enjoyed this more than the first. I loved the whole pile up scene, it was scarier than the Plane Crash in my opinon. The deaths seemed more grusome, I loved how they brought back Ali Larter, but I wasn’t too impressed when she was killed. I was hoping there wouldn’t be anymore to follow because she died. But they went and did a Third which sucked and now The Final Destination, which I haven’t seen yet and I’m not sure I want to.
I highly recommend this film
8/10
Decently entertaining, but not very imaginative.
very good movie and one of the few great sequels in the world of horror.
The best of the FD movies.
BY FAR THE BEST OF THE SERIES! I love the first one but the up graded here in a major way! Loved all the characters.didn’t want to c any of them die! Unfortunately my favorite got it at the end! But everything about this movie ESPECIALLY the beginning car scene to the crazy deaths works and it is one of them rare movies that beat the 1st and become one of your all time favorites!
I loved the first movie the most but i have to admit there couldn’t be a better follow-up to the original than this. The deaths were done perfect with just enough CGI unlike Part 3 & 4
Even better ways to die
more better ways to die and a much more entertaining disaster scene at the start with the car pile-up, but this movie is really unrealistic.
when Kat and Rory die from impalation by pipe and amputated by barbed wire, everyone just looks at them and then move on.
also, how can a guy like Tim splatter to bits from glass, and if he’s nothing but a puddle of blood and organs, WHY PUT HIM ON A HOSPITAL STRETCHER??
this movie sucked, and i want my money back for renting it!
Only reason to see this movie is the spectacular death scenes. Everything else is boring as hell.
better ways to die… same storyline; horrible acting
This film no where near as good as the first one. I like the idea off a pile up on a Motorway but be realistic. It is not as fun to watch as the Plane blowing up. And the reaction by the girl is not as real as the boys in the first. This film is good but the first is better!! The death scenes get annoying. They always get splatted just like in number 3. But it is a must see!!!
The acting is terrible, all the deaths are the same. I’ve noticed in the sequels they haven’t actually got grim reaper hunting them down. It’s just stupid accidents which is completely obvious.
this was good 2
Some hot looking guys that’s about all this movie
had going for it, Oh plus decent ways of killing
people off & the gore but all in all the movie
pretty much sucked for me so I’ll be nice and give it a 3/10.
not as good as 1.
Haven’t seen the original, but I liked this. Its a true horror film – gory, shocking and uncomfortable.
Its one to be watched for the deaths, not the storyline.
Only downers on this good film would be that the ways to die are a little unrealistic, if not farfetched, and its a little boring inbetween the deaths.
Nonetheless, quite disturbing and entertaining.
8/10
Bad acting mixed with boring kills and even worse storyline.
<3
awesome kils!!!:) good acting, but not so go story but that does not matter:) i cant believe that Ali charater dies:(
pretty good and worthy sequal
Great movie. Death continues with bloody killings. Awesome pile up in the start of the movie and went in a different direction with a completely different story. One to watch for someone who likes blood and people dying in strange ways. 10/10
Alright but nothing special.
best kills are in this one ,more action , premontion of the traffic accident was awsome seeing one guy crush by his motocycle and a guy burning alive in his car and then truck runs into his car finnishing him off
Great movie
Just as awesome as the first!
Of all the series final destination, this is definitely the best. Even better than the 1, bloody deaths, terrible accidents, but credible, entertaining and well acted.
This… barely made any sense. At all. As much as I enjoy seeing fictitious people die in new and interesting ways, making a movie based soley on that is not the best idea. Points for some new ideas, though.
**Mini Review**
FINAL DESTINATION 2 brings your old fears back to the big screen! David R. Ellis makes a fantastic Car pile-up and convincing acting (well sometimes) and a intense storyline!
” FINAL DESTINATION 2 ” is that rarest of creatures , the successful sequel . Along with ” HALLOWEEN II(1981), ” ALIENS ”, ” FRIDAY THE 13thPART 2 ” we can now add this film .AJ COOK( RIPPER:LETTERS FROM HELL )is outstanding as our protaganist , this time viewing a horrific highway accident that has to be seen to be believed . I will go on record without hesitation as saying this is the greatest crash ever captured on film , absolutely stunning , worth the admission alone . ALI LARTER makes a return as Clear Rivers , who has herself in a rubber room , simply for protective purposes . wicked kills , plenty of thrills , ” FINAL DESTINATION 2 ” is proof that sometimes , even Hollywood CAN DO THINGS RIGHT !!
When I first watched Part 2 back in ’04, it totally blew me away. I remember liking it even more than the first part.
Well… after watching it a couple more times, I realize that it’s obviously NOT as good as the original – still, it’s an extremely entertaining, extremely well-made over-the-top sequel that satisfies gore-hounds as well as tension freaks.
The flaws are obvious:
It’s not as thrilling as the original due to a few pacing problems in the middle. Furthermore, the plot is pretty silly, it’s packed with stupid dialogue and at times, it’s a bit too predictable.
Gladly, the deaths here are so fuckin’ kick-ass, it’s easy to forget about the flaws.
I mean, the infamous vehicle pile-up is probably one of the most stunning openings in horror history, and the completely unforeseeable barbecue kill is definitely one of the most hilarious kills of all time.
Other highlights: the stunning death by glass slab, the fabulous death by airbag, the supergory death by barbwire, the elevator beheading and the outstanding, eye-popping kitchen sequence.
The direction is top notch; you can literally feel how Ellis, and everyone else involved in this, really enjoyed shooting it. There’s also plenty of good-looking camera work, another sweeping soundtrack from Shirley Walker and a few brilliant performances from the super-gorgeous Keegan Connor Tracy, the nice A.J. Cook and the cool David Paetkau – plus: 2 more great appearances from Ali Larter and Tony Todd.
A brilliant sequel that totally delivers the goods!
Pretty much as good as the first. Awesome opening pile-up, inventive kills, and a hilarious ending.
Oh, this is getting tiresome already. “Final Destination 2″ is a mediocre, stylish, violent sequel to yet another stylish, violent, but all-around surprisingly good original. “Final Destination” had its idea and its cruel sense of humor to back it up when it got, perhaps intentionally, absurd; but the sequel has even less. It seems to have abandoned the concept of using the premise for comedy, and instead most of the laughter comes from the filmmakers and people behind it. It’s obvious that we’re supposed to laugh when everybody dies a grisly death, but I’m just not seeing it.
I admire ambition in an idea; and the idea at the center of the “Final Destination” franchise is an intriguing one. Each entry is a slasher film; with the killer being the untouchable, un-seeable superstition of the Grim Reaper (AKA Death) himself. The characters are always trying to cheat death so that they can continue to exist as annoying, obnoxious shit-stains on the globe, but they aren’t always so lucky. “Final Destination 2″ is no different from what I expect out of any of the other sequels that I have yet to see, and maybe that’s why I feel that it lacks the consistency and wit to succeed. Oh, but it will continue to do so anyways.
A year after the plane-crash that a young man predicted in a premonition, resulting in the death of any dumbass who refused to believe his claims; Death has set its sights on a new set of morons. Of course, the one who for-tells every disaster and event is not as dumb as her cult-ish followers, but it helps to lack distraction when you are watching a film as dumb as this one.
Instead of a leading man, this time, we have a leading lady. Her name is Kim (A.J. Cook), and her first premonition involves a HUGE pile-up, killing a lot of people including her friends. When it turns out that this was destined to happen, a police officer steps in and saves Kim from dying along with her best mates; which is good, because now that means that the film has somewhere to go.
But she’s not the only survivor. Plenty of others evaded their demise. However, when you cheat death; that just makes the bastard even more intrigued when it comes to getting you killed. The survivors are killed off in spectacularly inventive ways; involving elevator-decapitations, wire-fence deaths, and more. You’ll never guess what’s inside (the film)!
Yes, I just called the film’s death scenes inventive, because they are. However, creating a death scene is not the same as creating a movie. I don’t want to call “Final Destination 2″ a bad movie. It is well-filmed, but I will stop myself from going any further and calling it well-made. David R. Ellis has done nothing but disappoint me with his preposterous choices in his entire career; the first film I saw of his was the lame, supposedly intentionally campy but none-the-less failure “Snakes on a Plane”, which isn’t as cool or funny as it wants to be. I suppose the same goes for this flick. It makes good use of special effects and gore, but that can’t amount to a good movie; especially when it’s pretty much all you’ve got. None of the characters in the movie are remotely worth caring enough, the tone is far too serious for a premise this hilariously awesome, and I kind of miss the first film’s sense of humor. I almost want to watch that one again, and it might not be too bad of an idea. I actually liked it, contrary to this piece of mediocre, unnecessary near-crap.
I don’t despise this movie as much as I should, but it pisses me off. I advise you to skip it, as it does nothing to breathe new life into the series as it goes on. James Wong was a good filmmaker and he made “Final Destination” work, but by giving some no-talent screw-up with access to all the blood and FX money can buy, he’s let someone screw with a good premise that he came up with. This is not David R. Ellis’s story. It’s not James Wong’s story either. In a world where most sequels are just so goddamn unnecessary, this is the King. And it’s bad, bad, bad; or at least it shall be for most people.
killer.
Hold your breath, you’re in for a fun ride! In my opinion, this is just as good if not better than the orginal! The deaths were more gruesome, the crash scene was unbelievably amazing. I actually had to rewind{yes I first saw this on video tape}the movie to view the pile up again, it was truly spectacular. Always great to see Ali Larter as well, she’s one of my favorite actresses. In closing let me say this: after watching this movie for the first time, I ended up running to the gas station/store down the street. There was a tanker truck parked at the station, and such a feeling of dread and paranoia came over me I nearly turned arond and walked away. This movie will mess with your mind, and if you look closely enough at it, it will teach you some valuable lessons: ALWAYS pay attention to your surroundings, and no one can cheat Death.
Just like the first Final Destination, I adore this movie.
