This is a decent follow-up to the phenomenal 2000 film Ginger Snaps. This movie has considerably darker tones, and all of the locations look gritty and dirty. The story is okay (it has a horrifying twist at the end that I never saw coming), but it is the sound that stands out. This movie has some of the best sound that I’ve ever heard, from stress-inducing electronica to the sound of grinding machines whenever our heroin (no pun intended) injects her Wolfsbane.
On the other hand, Emily Perkins looks completely different than she did in 2000, almost to the point of being unrecognizable as Bridget. My other gripe is the fact that the gorgeous Katherine Isabelle isn’t in this movie except for a few flashbacks and various sequences.
That being said, fans of the first one will probably enjoy the second one, but it is still the weakest entry in the series.

Very good sequal to a fantastic first. Emily perkins shines on screen as always and keeps you feeling her character through the whole movie. I liked the snow and ice setting in this film, the ending i never expected, I wish the series of ginger snaps got more hype then that garbage movie called twilight i cant stand movies like twilight that belong on the disney channel for kids

I really liked this one, even better than the third one. It’s really dark and the way she reacts fits perfectly to Brigitte’s character from the first movie. And of course even thought it’s been 4 years since the original movie, Emily Perkins is still completely in character, her acting is flawless.
    8/10

This sequel is just as good as the original & in some ways better (in my opinion), better werewolf fx. Picks up right after the original, so see the first one!

I honestly felt that this was a very inferrior follow-up. They changed the rules, handled the characters in a way I didn’t find appropriate, and overall just kinda made another so-so-sequel. Granted, it is better than a lot of other sequels, but that isn’t saying much. I guess I just can’t get over how fundamentally flawed the film’s premise is- Briggite was the sole survivor from movie one. She was the one who learned the moral lessons of family and loyalty, made the ultimate sacrafice, and came out alive in the end. Why spoil that with a single line of dialogue in the beginning that changes the rules of the series, by saying her Monkshood salvation no longer works, all for the sake of milking out a sequel?

When it comes down to the details, I liked the new characters, but they just weren’t as fleshed out or as interesting as Karen Walton’s from the original film. Brett Sulivan does a fairly good job directing, and has some nice visuals, and the script is pretty creative at times.

Creature and gore effects were nice, and I found them a little more compelling that the third film’s effects, mainly just because of the way in which they were shot.

Overall story… Meh. Like I said, I felt betrayed by having what I believed from the first movie stripped away. This was a very common feeling I’ve shared with the five other people I watched it with. Nobody just really thought any of it was neccesary or appropriate.

Overall, fans of the first should give it a shot, but that’s about it.

Surprisingly brilliant and nearly as good as Part 1. The story goes into a completely different but interesting direction with a fabulously intelligent and twisted script. Not as humorous and emotional, but darker, creepier and more fast-paced, again with fantastic camera work, brilliant settings and awesome effects. Emily Perkins’ performance is even better than in the original and her new partner in crime Tatiana Maslany is also pretty amazing.
Why can’t all sequels be as good as this one?

Not as good as the original but still a really great sequel. The finale was extremely tense and exciting and I also loved the twisted ending. It takes a new direction from the firt film and i suppose that’s why it works so well because we’re not just watching the first film all over again. If you enjoyed the first, you will probably enjoy this one.

Great sequel! The whole series is wonderful. This movie was filled with action. And its setting is utterly disturbing. And the surprise twist ending is awesome! Love this movie! Love the Ginger Snaps movies! Dont miss it!
