JUST BRILLIANT!
I was on the edge of my seat and I really felt dredd in this film. I felt for the doctor was was captured. And was creeped out by the games.
Visually stunning and so macarbe. I look away but need to see what will happen. I’m not sure if it was the alcohol i was drinking but i was upset when the doctor tried to set himself free. And the twist at the end had me shouting “OH MY GOD NO WAY!!”
BUT-the other films had nothing on this one, should of stuck to 1.
It’ll be a classic…i think it is! Horror fans go see now!
When you imagine that you know it all… Jigsaw arrives… One of the most brilliant movies made by man!
This was one of the most twisted movies I have ever seen. I watch alot of horror movies but this scared the hell out of me. The best part was Jigsaw was in the room the whole time, how freaky is that. I tell everyone you need to experience watching this movie. It makes you wonder whos watching what you do. This movie freaks me right out. I believe that horror movies are created to scare the audiences and this one does the trick.
The biggest horror franchise of 00′s.
The best horror movie I`ve ever seen
I have all three of the 2 disc Director’s Cut’s dvd’s and out of all three of them the only thing that’s uncut in the first DC is the Jawtrap scene.
I thought that the main shoker would be the scene in which Dr.Gordon takes self-mutilation to the extreme by sawing off his foot… Until we learn that the dead man set in the middle of the room isnt exactly dead… I remember when i saw it EVERYBODY in the room was freaking out as Dr.Gordon sawed off his own foot, but practically had a panic attack as the true Jigsaw was revealed…
I know this will be a horror classic within 20 years…
This movie was amazing..I honestly thought the horror genre was officially failing..but I guess I was wrong..
‘It’s just begun..’
Amazing movie. One of the best twists ive seen in awhile.
Ok Im nOt here to tlk about Saw1
im here to talk about
Saw V
What the hell was up the traps!!!
C’mon
Being torched=No Blood Or Gore
Be Shocked=No blood or gore
Being dround=No Blood Or Gore
It was just like Saw III
The Freezer Room
and The Trap were the Judge was
had no blood or gore.
Does Anyone Agree With ME???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The original Saw is the best. Good creepy atmosphere and seeing the traps , like the jaw tap for the first time was a delight. Most of the action takes place between 2 guys in a dirty bathroom and when one decides to finally pick up that saw and start hackin’ OMG!!! Nice and twisty but my jaw hit the floor when Jigsaw revealed himself when he got up from the bathroom floor. Pure brilliance. And to think 2 young guys from my homeland in Australia went on to create one the most successful movie franchises of all time makes it a whole lot sweeter.
I thought saw was one of the best movies I have ever seen and was the best one by far out of the series.
Storyline: People getting captured placed in rooms and having to play sick games of torture in order to survive. The story mainly revolves around two people who are captured and placed in an abandoned bathroom, each set with a different task in order to survive. There are also numerous clues in the room to help them. 10/10
Acting: The acting in this movie was amazing, truly believeable. The emotions were realistic and not over the top. 10/10
Special Effects: The effects in this movie were awesome. The deaths were extremely realistic and there wasn’t huge amounts of over the top gore. 10/10
Best Scene: The best scene was the twist at the end. 10/10
Ending: The movie ending was one of the best endigs to a movie I have ever seen. It was the best twist I have ever seen in a movie aswell. 10/10
Overall I give this movie 10/10 it was just pure awesomeness and kicked ass through start to finish. If you like movies with a good storyline and incredible twists then you cannot miss saw.
The sequals are a lot better! A lot gorier! In fact in this hardly any blood is used at all! But that dosn’t make this movie bad at all.
The plot takes place with 2 people in a bathroom talking and letting the plot unfold more and more which is very interesting, however the whole film is not just 2 people talking in a crappy bathroom, there is flashbacks to keep you entertained.
But the thing that makes this movie heart poundng and shocking is the ending! The best ending I have ever seen in a movie (apart from sweeney todd) my jaw was hanging as I watched the ending! Seriously you might as well just watch this film for the ending evn if you don’t like the sound of it!

The original is way better than 2,3,4 and 5 even though they are good the story is amazing and the ending is fantastic it really makes the viewer think WHO IS THE KILLER!
loved it
Great film. Definitely a great reboot of the horror film genre. It makes you think, and it’s definitely has the gore we all love!
the one that started it all i guess, wasnt the greatest thing on earth but better than most of the latter efforts.
i thought this was really good,
the ending is awesome
In my books, SAW is one of the best horror movies I’ve ever seen. I feel the idea of a person obsessed with torturing people because they don’t appreciate being alive is brill! The main thing that got me is how gory and sadist it is, but in a way, Jigsaw has a point. I mean if I had terminal brain cancer and there were people walking around the place cutting themselves and taking drugs I’d be pretty mad to. My fav trap in the movie was probably the reverse bear trap.
Nicely done. Better than its sequels.
First time watching it it was really nice when you could guess what is going on and who is guilty for that etc. The movie was really suspenseful.
One word – masterpiece
This was very good and origanal. Great!
Great movie with one of the most suprising endings I’ve ever seen!
Saw is a great movie. it has a great story and jigsaws motive is pretty cool. the pacing is good and the ending is amazing. great twist that you dont see coming at all. i love how he is trying to teach people the value of life, just in a sick and twisted way. the acting isnt bad, but toward the end with cary elwes character, i dont know what he was thinking when he acted those last few scenes. i love the score and it adds to the whole experience, this one is highly recommended as it is the one that kickstarted the whole franchise.
Good movie.
This may have turned out to be a pop culture phenomeone but it started out as a new and very scary film for the genre and will always be ranked along the lines of films like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Alien.
A very great movie that has been bombarded with unecessary sequels that focus on providing more gore and stupid plot twists that are quite dumb
Cool little indie flick, but sadly it could have been so much better if the main leads were cast differently. Some of the worst acting I have seen capture on film. Besides that everything else was pretty much perfect. Definitely should be seen, if only so you can get caught up for Saw 2 (a far better movie).
the first one of a series which will someday become bigger than friday the 13th and halloween series combined and even if it hasnt happened yet i think this is a thousand times better then those for me is the third greatest of the sixth(soon to be 7 or 10)series of movies it has gore, suspense,a twist ending at the time no one suspected, great acting, great direction and a story that is still expanding withour ridicule situations
This was a good indie film that came out of no where , had a great little puzzles and twists. To bad the copycats(hostel, etc.)forgot about story and just became torture porn.
SAW is the most overrated horror film of the 2000′s. Not only does it have unbelivably terrible leads, but it has awful Saw editing. The plot is actually kind of interesting, and the ending is kick-ass, but the film’s flaws just bring it down so much. Considering the fact that most of the movie involves these two actors, most of the movie has terrible acting. Many of the scenes are laughable from this, taking away from intensity of the film. Then there is the terrible MTV acting during the torture scenes, which honestly just gives me a headache.
So yes, Saw is ridiculously overrated. It’s acting is horrendous, and its editing its very bad. I do not see the love for this film, because it does not even have that much gore to make it loved by gore fans.
A very well made horror/torture film. I didn’t feel depressed or disgusted watching it like I did watching something like Hostel. Saw 2 is one of my fav horror movies. I love the psychological aspects of the “games,” etc. and the complexity of the traps. Very smart horror movie…as far as horror movies go. Admittedly, though, the later movies seemed about gorn than anything else.
GREAT GORE.
Great film
This may not be the best horror movie ever made, but it’s one of MY favorites!! First of all, let me say that I am not a fan of the endless franchise it has become, but the first film was just amazing. I avoided it for a long time because it was supposed to be so so gory. Even though it did start the whole “the more gore the better” trend, it wasn’t as bad as I had been lead to believe. It had several things that a lot of horror movies lack these days. A solid and interesting story, just the right amount of blood and gore, and the perfect…I mean the PERFECT ending. For me, it was like a beautiful present wrapped up in a razor-wire bow with a tag that said “just for you”. Opening it for the first time was a bloody dream come true. FAVORITE SCENE: Final scene…game over.
Not the gorefest it is made out to be, but a beautifully executed movie. The way everything comes together at the end is what makes this such an amazing film. Watch the others if you want gore.
I love this movie
Saw is one of my favorite horror films. I love everthing about it. Saw offers plenty of twist and turns to keep you guessing till the final twist that is perfect and spot on. The twist is one of the greatest plot twist of all time. This is a ture masterpiece.
this movie is truly inventive, imaginative, and well made. the acting is spot on. #1 is definately the best in the series.
I am sure by now everybody has seen the original film if not you are really missing out on one of the great horror films of 2004. and really it was just a good film in general. it has everything you could want in a horror film awsome story, great directing and especialy great acting. One really great thing is that with so many movies are using so much CGI now it was great to see a movie especially horror useing practical effects. anyway do yourself a favor and go out and buy this film.
One of the best films of recent times, a perfect combination of suspense, horror, bloody massacres, great story, clever, and so on. Very impressive. Everything in this movie is great. No waste from start to finish, everyone has already seen and continue to see for years to come. A true classic. A film that set a precedent and created a wave of imitations. Will never forget this movie.
One of the birthplaces of torture porn right here… it’s damn good. Keeps you guessing right up to the very end.
Highly Recommended for the 5 peopel on planet earth that have not already seen this film.
Hobo Approved(TM)
A scary little Psycho Thriller, but up to this day I can’t understand how this flick managed to spawn so many sequels, one dumber than the other.
TOTALLY EPIC.
EASILY the best of the saw series. Saw 1 has it all, and it doesn’t go over-the-top (which I know a lot of folks here like, but too much is too much, and most Saw films ARE too much), and the plot is the best.
The film builds and builds to the ultimate horror climax, this film goes where no film has gone before in terms of morality, the question of self worth, and the ability of humans to completely jump out of their comfort zone when pushed to the brink of a complete mental breakdown.
Also, has one of the best film twists I’ve ever seen. An absolute jaw-dropper if you haven’t already seen it. Never saw it coming.
Hello Zepp!
Very good! Saw has a reputation for being extremely gory, but it’s actually not that gory, it’s still gory though. Anyways, it’s much better than it’s sequels.
We go back to the start in the year 2004 before the later on sequels. The original Saw is a great film to say the least. The first Saw is the best in the Saw movies since Saw III, Saw VI and Saw 3D. This is a great introduction about the famous serial killer Jigsaw before in the later on sequels the traps starts to come to life. Oh and this is also the introduction of the first characters in Saw we got Dr Gordon who later on appeared in the last Saw film and we even have Detective Kerry who dies later on in Saw 3. The original Saw film has lots of great moments and it even has some of the best sequences from start to finish. The plot in the original Saw is incredibly well paced and it was really well made and intriguing as well. The plot here isn’t slow paced at all it really moves quick and fast like the later on Saw sequels. Much like the sequels the original Saw is somewhat done in a different way. And I said that because this film has a couple of differences over the later on Saw sequels so far. Despite that this film lacks the blood, gore and graphic violence it’s still an excellent movie. What I did like about the original Saw is that the movie itself focus not only as a horror film but more of a psychological thriller done in a really dark style. This film is probably similar to David Fincher’s Se7en due to the tone of the film from start to finish so far. The movie is lacking of traps so far and from what I can tell some of the traps in the original Saw were just a few plus the traps aren’t as disgusting and violent as Saw 3D although I still like it. The other great thing about the original Saw is that the film is really suspenceful and it also has some tense moments and the original Saw is the most suspenceful Saw film in the Saw movies while Saw 3D is the most violent Saw film in the Saw franchise Now the acting in the original Saw was great Cary Elwes and the rest of the cast did a good job with their performances in the original Saw so far. The screenplay by Director James Wan and Writer Leigh Whannell was really well made plus the directing by James Wan was really impressive so far. This is beyond a great Saw movie and it is incredibly unique and well paced as well. Overall Saw gets a 10/10 like some of the later on Saw sequels.
