Best movie of 2001
f****k you frank
garbage. The movie is intricate and overly complicated and in the end we are left with a feeling of no real resolution.
WOW! To Good to be TRUE!
I really enjoyed this movie but I thought it was going to be gory I was surprised and I enjoy the whole movie….especially the actors and I could see why this will be a cult following….I was vey surprised a must see.
richard kelly is like one of those kids with low level down syndrome, that thinks that hes way smarter than the valadictorian. He shoves his stupid films in your face and makes you feel ( if your an idiot) that his movies are on a plain beyond what you (the viewer) can understand, when in fact his movies are just muddled satyrical parodies that make no sense. This movie was mind blowingly retarted, it wasnt unique, it wasnt smart, it wasnt anything but a baaad movie. He insults your intelligence. This and southland tales are some of the worst movies ive ever seen
Could have been really good if it wasn’t so hard to follow.
I rented this movie last week and brought it yesterday and to me is one of the greatest movies ever made…It is hard to understand and you do have too watch it more than once to get it.
The first thing about this movie is that the story is so original…Everything about this movie is shown in a different way and is really interesting.
The second thing I love about this movie is that the actors were amazing, the best performances coming from Jake Gyllenhall and Jena Malone. Those were the 2 characters I cared for the most and I loved the love story between them and found that to be one of the best things about this movie.
The third thing I love about this movie is the score. All the music in this move just fits in so well and is so amazing.
The fourth thing I like about this movie is I know I will never get bored with it because not one part of the entire movie is boring all of it is so good.
The final thing I liked about this movie was how emotional the movie can get to you. When the characters laugh you will laugh, when the characters are afraid you are afraid, and when the characters are sad you are sad and, when the characters are in love you are in love. If a movie manages to make you fell many emotions in the right places where there supposed to you know the movie was successful.
This movie also has one of the saddest endings I have seen and the music really brings out the sadness in the final scene.
While not really a horror movie this movie is still one of the best movies ever made and I will always love it and it will always have a place in movie history as one of the weirdest tales ever told.
Greatest film ever made. plain and simple. — well, i must say that you have to be smart, or not a complete moron to understandthis film. I hear alot of people asking what it was about…
this movie is the shit! a little hard to follow, but you want to watch ten times to get the story straight
This is the best film ever created…period.
My all time favorite movie. Too bad Richard Kelly hasn’t put out a good movie since.
One of my top favorite movies of all time. The first time I watched this movie i didn’t get it, but then i got the directors cut and understood it more. I decided to view the film with the directors commentary which also has Kevin Smith on the track. The movie now makes total sense and anybody who doesn’t understand the superhero concept to the movie should view it with the Commentary on, after you have already watched it of course.
I liked it first and foremost because it was highly enjoyable, it was great seeing this when it was re-released. I liked the soundtrack and the actors were all pretty good. It had a surreal atmosphere which I also liked. Frank the bunny was a scary SOB.
Wayyyy better than ‘The Box’ – that movie plain sucked.
Liked this version even more
one of the greatest movies ever
Ah, the poster child of the emo generation. One of the most over-rated pieces of crap ever. An extremely pretentious film that fails in almost every way. I was bored throughout and the only thing that affected me at all was donnies’ death, to which i gave a loud cheer. Only the stupid or the foolish will like this film, everybody else avoid.
person under me is a braindead douchbag, CLASSIC HORROR DRAMA. And dont rate a movie 1 just because you are too stupid to understand what its about.
Loved it.
Absolutely Brilliant! A top notch story that fully engages you from beginning to end. Will remain a cult classic for years to come! I actually prefer the original version over this awesome directors cut, just my opinion.
Fucking loved the original to death, one of my absolute favorite films! But this director cut sucked balls. I find it funny by changing a few scenes and substituting different songs how it, to me, had a different feel that just sucked balls. Weird. It’s just not the same.
Best. Movie. Ever.
Not a gory horror film, but a creepy, atmospheric masterpiece.
This movie is timeless and highly re-watchable.
Yes, it’s hard to follow at times, but it all makes sense if you take the time to put the pieces together. An absolute classic.
To the people that hate this movie you just don’t get it so don’t try
This Movie is one of my favourite Cult Movie of the Millennium, its intelligent, spooky, Creepy, dark & Mysteries, body language of the character are amazing and the acting of the whole cast and Directions is just outstanding work and the way the storyline and Movie go’s is brilliant it psychology freaky and out of the normal which is my thing and has made a mark in cinema history (I Think).
Good movie and all – but NOT horror. Not scary, not spooky, not deserving of a 10 on a horror review site. And I was excited to watch a kick ass scary flick. What a let down. For that reason it only gets half a score. If I look under O am I going to find “Ordinary People” with Mary Tyler Moore on this horror review site too?
