I have to disagree. I either missed to point or am just clueless. What was the deal with the chick and her mother? “How long have you known?” What did I miss? And why did she not want to leave? …And I get where he framed the Buckcherry dude, but he didn’t have an alibi either, and the cops were already watching him? Maybe I need to watch it again…
Great movie. Not a horror movie by any means, rather it follows the trials and tribulations of a young man who WANTS to be involved in horror movies; in the creature feature department in particular.
The film is actually a loose retelling of the writer/director’s own life. This assisted me in feeling for the main character all the more, whilst once again establishing that hicks pretty much disapprove of EVERYTHING.
Lightning bug is a great movie.
This movie was a cool little movie but a 10 out of ten????????? Really??????????
An ok little drama about the woes of getting out of a small town and the stress of an ahole stepfather. Don’t quite get why this movie is on BD–not a horror, thriller, suspense, etc. genre movie in any sense–maybe just as a nod to Hall as a horror effects man. If you are looking for a horror movie then steer clear of this because this is very much a drama about coming of age teen life in a poor home. I found it to be watchable as a good story, but nothing to get too excited about.
I can’t even begin to wonder how this was classified as horror….It was ok to watch…fun..but horror? come on really.
An impressive coming of age story that will not disappoint!
Just watched this earlier tonight and felt incredibly disappointed and bored by the end. It was more of an underdeveloped pointless drama than a horror movie. The characters were dull and predictable with the plot lacking any real substance or anything to hold my attention. I was, however, entertained by how the impoverished food stamp dependent teenage main character was somehow able to afford thousands of dollars worth of special makeup FX supplies in order to make $250 so he could purchase a ticket to L.A.
