[Closer to Death] ‘The Divide’ Nukes New York City

Almost nothing is more fatal than the nuclear bomb. Just two of them killed an estimated 225,000 people between Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, and we live our lives with the threat of thousands of them being unleashed over our heads at any given moment. READ MORE

[OMFG] Roland Emmerich’s 1984 Horror Film ‘Making Contact’!

When you become my age, it’s rare when a movie slips by you, which is probably why I’m literally flipping out over this discovery. I’m sure a few Bloody members will scream, “How the hell have you never seen this?” To which I will reply, “I just haven’t.” But my hope is that I point some readers into picking up this lost gem from an A-list Hollywood director… READ MORE

Full International Trailer for Roland Emmerich’s ‘Hell’

Back in early July we reported on a low-budget apocalyptic tale from Roland Emmerich, king of the end-of-the-world subgenre (he directed Independence Day, 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow). Entitled Hell, inside we’ve scored the full international trailer for Tim Fehlbaum’s dusty indie opening in Germany this September. READ MORE

Roland Emmerich’s Creepy Obsession with the Apocalypse Continues in ‘Hell’

I think Roland Emmerich wishes this planet would just die, is hoping to make enough money to buy a place of safety in light of an apocalypse, or is thinking that making movies about the end of the world will score him a sweet invite into the President’s top secret bunker. Whatever the case, Emmerich is obsessed with the apocalypse to an extend that I personally find it creepy. READ MORE

M. Night Shyamalan Thinks It’s ‘Happening’ Over At Fox

M. Night Shyamalan never started on a good foot if you ask me, I’ve always felt he was overrated and after his last two pics (The Village, Lady in the Water) I thought the suits in the studios finally had their eyes opened. Apparently some have as Shyamalan is moving on to yet another studio – 20th Century Fox has pledged a green light for The Happening, a spec script thriller that Shyamalan wrote and will direct in Philadelphia this August. Director(s) Found for Fox’s ‘Alien vs Predator 2′?!

In the past decade or so, the single most disappointing film I’ve seen is easily Paul W.S. Anderson and 20th Century Fox’s Alien vs Predator. When Fox announced they were ready to gun out Alien vs Predator 2 for an August 207 release, my skin crawled. I seriously thought the first AvP would signal the sure death of both franchises, but now the joke is that this one will seal the deal. But good news from the grapevine, as it’s rumored that Anderson will not be returning as director. Read on to see the rumor(more…) READ MORE
