Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival this year is A Horrible Way To Die, which stars AJ Bowen (House of the Devil, Hatchet 2, The Signal), Amy Seimetz (Bitter Feast), and Joe Swanberg. Directed by Adam Wingard (Pop Skull) and written by Simon Barrett (Dead Birds, Red Sands), the film tells the story of an escaped serial killer who goes after his ex-girlfriend, who has fled to a small town to start a new life. Horror People, Dear Reader is a video podcast that features our own BC and screenwriter Simon Barrett (Dead Birds, Frankenfish), and possible guest stars, cracking wise as they watch public domain horror movies, while at the same time you get to enjoy the film (yay technology)! The first in the series is Cathy’s Curse, a 1977 Canadian horror film about a foul-mouthed little girl who is possessed by her dead aunt.
