I had high hopes for this. It could of gone either way it could have been good or it could have sucked…it sucked. It was just way too slow and they didnt show the man-thing that much at all. Big letdown.

An absolutely horrible farce with no love for the source material. 1. Filmed with Australians faking Florida redneck talk badly. 2. Bogus indian mythology w/out respect to real Seminole Indian beliefs. 3. Shotguns that fire w/out bucking and the hero can shoot w/ 100% accuracy until he misses the bad guy ten feet away near the end while still standing after taking a shotgun blast to the torso. If your gonna feature gunplay in a film, study it at least. 4. grips visible in the background 5. stupid set ups for atmosphere that have no payoff like randomly burning cars at the Indian’s house which by the way is an open aired shack in an area known for mosquito hordes. 6. The plot has nothing to do with the super soldier serum from which Man-Thing is spawned. There’s hope, the everglades facility is shown in The Hulk.

Agreed completely with capecep. No respect to the source material at all, and even if judged as a separate entity, a lousy film. Man-Thing looks VERY cool, but only shows up in the last five minutes of the damn movie. A Marvel comic adaptation that manages to be worse than Ghost Rider.

I admit that I love to watch crappy horror films. It’s my guilty pleasure, and I have seen quite a few. Got this on my netflix because I knew that it was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel which is the greatest station to show that true crappy horror films are abundant. Yes this movie is bad. I am not familiar with the source material except that I knew it was a comic book that I had skimmed through a couple of times because it reminded me of Swamp Thing. I did like the look of the creature, but that couldn’t save the rest of the film that was true horror poop. I had to give a loud sigh when the sheriff and the lead female decided that after they met the indian at his home that they were going to get it on. I mean really! That kind of junk that is poured on in these cheese films is what makes me scratch my head and wonder who in production or before the script was okayed thought that stuff like that would be good in the film. I am sorry that it didn’t stay with the material because it would have been cool to see a kick ass creature wreak some havoc.

Not as terrible as everyone say it is, but I do admit, it was a little disappointing.

Really there’s not much in the way of redeeming qualities for this one. Avoid it.

A lame story, but with good actors and a decent ending. It’s not worth watching, but it wasn’t terrible.

Official Score: 1.5 / 5
