It was really really boring but its a good film anyway and yes it did scared me a little bit and before you watch it think about this it doesnt contains any gore or anything like that its suspense like the grudge or the haunting.

I found it to be incredibly boring, and once the action finally started I was so distracted that I didn’t even care.

If you are looking for blood and guts this is not for you. If you want a decent story check it out.

Not a bad movie at all. Nothing great, but not bad.

Slow. The films starts off very slow and is more focused on character building than the horror. About half way through is when the film starts getting into the thriller type stuff. Although the film to me is more of a drama/thriller as it’s not scary, but somewhat sad, as you feel for Dahlia. The ending was something I wasn’t expecting, and alot of scenes I was not expecting. The film is rather dark and depressing and to a point, pointless. It is watchable and I did infact like it, but it was too safe for comfort. Not one I’d reccomend for a family evening, but just for a late night watch before bed, definately not deserving of any awards.

The plot was a little too dramatic, and based on character building which was somewhat entertaining to watch. Not scary, but more mysterious.

Jennifer Connelly is great. She was right on the mark when it came to her character Dahlia. The rest of the acting was also quite surprisingly good.

Overall “Dark Water” is a nice watch and is enjoyable. I liked it. and as it’s very very watchable, my rating is 3.5/5

very slow at the start it was a very slow burner! It only got going in the last 20 minutes really which is when it was quite good. Not a very good horror I have to admit because it wasn’t creepy enough!

Very rarely do I say that the remake was better than the original, but here I have to agree with that statement. While Dark Water is by no means horror, it was a very satisfying movie that I feel would have fit better in the drama genre.

My favorite aspect about this movie was the fact that it told a real story. It had real emotion. It centered around Dahlia (I love that name!)and her struggles to come to terms with her past and be a good mother to her daughter Cecy. It wasn’t terribly frightening, but the thrills served to support the inner conflicts of the main character’s mind. I was rooting the entire time for Dahlia to succeed, I was sad for her when things would go wrong. This movie is a character study on the relationship of a mother to her daughter.

I loved this soundtrack as well, and eventually found my way to owning it. Not only does the music serve to heighten the emotion, but it does so in such a brilliantly effective way that it almost seems as if the movie was built around it instead of the other way.

The acting in this movie is also far better than many horror movies released nowadays. Jennifer Connelly is brilliant as the protagonist; able to portray her inner conflicts as well as physical discomfort without the slightest shred of doubt as to her credibility. She’s amazing.

If this film had been marketed correctly, I would have rated it higher, but as a horror film it is less than perfect. It serves better as a drama, one that teaches us about the struggles and fears of parenting and makes us realize that no matter how hard we try, we can never be perfect parents. However, that should never stop us from trying.

This film would be better classed as a drama as the main focus of it is on a woman’s fight to re-build her life following a messy break-up and her struggle to forget the past. The supernatural side of the film mainly helps to nudge Dahlia closer to breaking point.
There are only a couple of creepy parts in this film and at times it is quite depressing but overall I enjoyed it. The characters were played well by a cast of good actors which makes it one of the better quality remakes around. Jennifer Connelly plays a depressed parent very well and Ariel Gade seems very at home in front of the camera as the cute little Ceci.
A happier ending would’ve been nice but I suppose her daughter would probably be better off the way it did end.

I’m a fan of Jennifer Connelly. I’ll watch any movie she’s in. At least this was better than Hulk.

Another boring J-horror remake. Thank god this fad is dying out now. This movie is better than watching the weather channel. Stupid.

I absolutely love this movie. It’s not horror to me, but more suspense than anything. The setting is so depressing, but it makes the movie so much more enjoyable. It’s not gruesome or violent, but it has it’s jumpy moments. It’s a movie that tugs at your heart, especially since a child is envolved. I thought it was amazingly filmed, I even cried a little the first time I saw it. I watch this movie all the time and never get tired of it. Definitely worth the watch.
