Oh my god..the first one sucked so why make another??? why?
why waste the film?
The first one was great. I’ve loved Sarah Michelle Gellar since I watched Buffy, and the first Grudge was decent enough. But I can’t even figure out what the fuck was going on in this film. It switched from Japan, to America, and between so many damn characters I couldn’t help but laughing when (SPOILERS)
They all died.
the first one was decent and scary at times this wasnt scary all the flipping through characters got on my nevers and now they might make a grudge 3? come on already stop trying to make money off crapie movies and on top of that why would i want a grudge 3(spoilers)
when the only person so far that they say is in it is that annoying little kid from this one god he should have just died
So damn boreing.
As perfect as the first.
Not the greatest, but I wouldn’t say it’s one of the worst ever. I really like Arielle Kebbell, so she kept my movie-watching experience somewhat tolerable, but aside from that it was nothing special.
This movie was, boring …
and the best part was when the blonde chick pissed herself…
Why didn’t BD write a review, I want to read what they think XD
In a word…… ridiculous.
The old guy on the bus was the best part of this entire movie. Nani Nani Naaa! Total crap, besides that.
WOAH! THis film is way too under rated! The first was brilliant, creepy and it actually scared me. This one is just as good! It is no better or worse than the first one, the atmosphere is still as creepy and eerie as ever and at night I found myself not going to sleep because i was frightened of the grudge lady coming for me! The only fault with this movie is the acting! But apart from that a fantastic horror!

Wow, horrorking95, your review of this steaming pile of monkey crap was actually enough to make me register onto the site. I have gotta know what you were smoking when you saw this movie, I might need some later. I was an actual fan of the original movie, but the story on this one was so jacked, by the end of the movie I could only scratch my head and wonder why I’d sat through the whole thing. The only thing scary about The Grudge 2 is that a studio put up money to get it made and that they actually got Jennifer Beals to lower herself (okay, maybe that’s too strong a word considering she hasn’t had much of a career lately) to starring in this stinker. Half a skull merely for the hotties in it. NEXT!!!
i didnt think it was possible but they made a better movie than the first!!! everyone else apparently has a problem with getting into the movie and whatching it for what it is not what you expected it to be… why would you rate a movie that you are going to tear appart? i dont like sesame street but that doesnt mean i go to their website and rag on them the whole time!
The first Grudge movie was good, but the Grudge 2 was pretty terrible. Not really sure how it could’ve been worse. Bad story line and bad acting. Thumbs down.
good sequel, gave me chills
I watched The grudge 2 in theaters and I loved it. When I saw the DVD I immediately turned off my DVD player because it was so boring. I think I liked the sequel in theaters because I was with friends and we were goofing around, but when I watched it alone it was crap. The scares go nowhere and the whole project is so cheesy and corny I laughed at everything. I admit The grudge 2 has it’s moments, but in the finale it never goes anywhere. Overall, The grudge 2 is an unnecessary sequel that shouldn’t have been remade just like the original.
Its okay but i number 1 is better
Holy hell this is horrible.
Most of the scarescenes were taken from Ju-on: The Curse (which was a made for tv movie in Japan that eventually spawned Ju-on: The Grudge).
I’ve seen better turds wrapped in a horror movie.
One of the most underrated films I’ve ever seen. It’s just a different method of horror, that just doesn’t appeal to American Audiences. It’s all based on Japanese mythology and fears.
Shimizu still is able to tap into all those primal fears with The Grudge 2, and trill the viewer. Also, Chistopher Young’s music score is fantastic. Personally, I loved it, also because it was a new kind of approach to horror (that most american audiences don’t appreciate, but that’s expected), was loaded with tributes to the original Ju-On films, and still kept me on the edge of my seat. Creeped me out not as much as the first, but still got under my skin so much it made me question if there really was nothing there in the dark.
The Grudge 2 is a simple ghost story, with a unsettling atmosphere and creepy scares if you go into this in a different mindset than most americans. Bring on the best of J-Horror: The Ju-On/Grudge series.
Well… I’m re-watching it right now, since it’s randomly on TV haha and it’s not that scary. I like the cute asian reporter, but everyone’s acting is really lame. The first time I watched it my dad wanted to see it too, but he fell asleep five mintues into the movie.
It scared the hell outta me so it did its job.
not that good, the first was better
I thought this was a pretty well done sequel.
the first was better
not as bad as the first
The Grudge wasn’t that great to start with, so to spoil an alright film with a terrible sequel is absurd! The Grudge 2 is a basic, scary movie with horrible acting, and a plot that will make you laugh. I still have to admit though, this is a scary movie, with some good scary scenes, and the CGI is awesome, but that’s still not enough to pick this movie up and bring it to the top. Is it too hard to make a good sequel you damn film makers? This movie is a massive dissapointment to fans of the first.
3/10
This is rather funny that scary. It’s really stupid.
its good first one was better tho the scarest part of this movie is when the dude is in the red room that part scared the shit out of me.
This film is horrible, the first one wasn’t anything special either, but this was just garbage. Most of the time all you see is that dead girl with her mouth open making that stupid sound and then it cuts to a black screen, so lame. These asian remakes are repetetive and predictable. Girl dies, girl haunts and pops out at you whoop dee fuckin doo. For the love of God hollywood, get some new writers to make ORIGINAL material.
You had to have watched this in a cinema full of screaming girls to appreciate it as much as the first. Watched it on DVD by myself later, the effect just wasn’t there anymore. Still solid to me though, just lacks that sheer horror of the first.
This was alot scaryier than the first 1 but still not great
It was scary, but not good..
This wasen’t scary, but it wasen’t bad either! The plot is confusing, but the movie still have some good scenes! Acting is decent and so is the rest of the movie, just decent.
pretty good
Not as good as the frist on but is amzin film scary as hell nd why such bad crities silly ppl
i actually prefer this one to the original. its ever so slightly scarier, though only if you watch it in the dark.
this is a good movie not realy scary but fun
Nowhere near as good as the first, or the original Japanese versions for that matter. I saw this only because I heard Gellar would reprise her role, to be honest.
The story makes absolutely no sense. Amber Tamblyn comes in as Gellar’s sister, and there is absolutely no indication that Gellar even had a family in the first film, let alone a sibling.
This can be confusing at times, jumping from story to story, character to character at random times. The events have no correlation or effect on one another.
It’s the exact same movie almost. Very shitty sequel.
VERY BAD.
not scary or gory, a complete waste of time
Not as good as the first but still offers a few creepy moments.
It was an okay on and off movie but…Not scary. Not good acting. Not entertaining. Not a good movie.
The Grudge 2 was pretty scary, and I like it. Sam Raimi knows how to make some scary movies, this one was better than the first one, because The Grudge was a pretty good movie, but this one was better.
Bad.
I liked The Grudge 2 is very scary but the cast was okay I do not no why people did not like it.
This is my favorite Grudge film, Just because it’s a remake doesn’t mean its bad Geez. How about you watch it again and maybe you will like it.
An amazing sequel to a great film.
Even better than the first, that little girl seriously creeps me out.
I think that The Grudge 2 was better than the first one because I was more creeped out and interested in this one.
