Leatherface Arrested For Suspicion Of Animal Cruelty

Actor Andrew Bryniarski (who played the new Leatherface in the 2003 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and its sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and his girlfriend, Jennifer Abram, were arrested Saturday on suspicion of animal cruelty for allegedly hoarding 25 dogs in their Santa Monica mobile home, reports Laist. Update: ‘Texas Chainsaw’ Director Thanks the Gods for Possible ‘Clash’ Directing Gig

Update: Dan Mazeau, who worked for Warners on “The Flash”, is being paired with David Leslie Johnson, writer of “The Girl with the Red Riding Hood,” the studio’s horror thriller starring Amanda Seyfried that is in pre-production, to write “Clash of the Titans 2.”” With the fake 3-D remake of Clash of the Titans nearing $500 million worldwide at the box office, Warner Bros. Pictures is fast-tracking a sequel with plans on shooting as early at January, reports the LA Times. It was already revealed that Louis Leterrier would not be returning to the director’s chair (thank the Gods (pun intended)), not the LA Times is writing that the frontrunner replacement is none other than Jonathan Liebesman, the man behind Darkness Falls, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and the forthcoming Battle: Los Angeles. Shooting in early 2011 is also a priority because the studio needs to make sure star Sam Worthington, who is committed to shoot Avatar 2 (likely later in the year), is free and clear. Milla Jovovich Has ‘Bad Luck’ With David Ellis

In an interview over at Moviehole director David R. Ellis reveals that Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich will be starring in his $30 million dollar horror Bad Luck, a pic that tells of a group of friends find their lives changed when the superstitions they don’t believe in begin to come true. The screenplay was penned by David Schow (The Crow, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning). No word on a start date. ‘Mother’s Day’ Lands Another Genre Vet

Andrew Bryniarski, who is the only actor to play Leatherface twice (in the two Platinum Dunes’ incarnations of the Texas Chainsaw saga) has been added to the ever-expanding cast of Darren Bousman’s remake of Mother’s Day, which has just begun shooting in Canada. His role is said to be a “dark and mysterious” one – maybe he plays Queenie? (Fans of the original will get that.) The Test Begins in ‘The Killing Room’ Trailer, DVD Cover Art

Still looking for a distributor after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this past January is Jonathan Liebesman’s (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Darkness Falls) thriller The Killing Room (review), a pretty solid mystery that follows four individuals sign up for a psychological research study only to discover that they are now subjects of a brutal, classified government program. Beyond the break you can check out the first trailer for the film that is said to be based on true events. Liebesman is set to direct the major alien war film Battle: Los Angeles for Sony. Some pretty incredible news came our way this morning as we were informed that Diora Baird (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), Shannon Elizabeth (Scary Movie, Thir13en Ghosts, Cursed) and Monica Keena (Freddy vs Jason) have all officially joined the cast of Adam Gierasch’s remake of Night of the Demons, which was co-written by Gierasch and Jace Anderson.
