Update: Apparently the press release for ‘Burning Palms’ and IMDB were wrong in listing Landon as a writer. Official update forthcoming. Christopher B. Landon (Disturbia, Blood and Chocolate – and director of the forthcoming Burning Palms) and Michael R. Perry are both responsible for penning Paranormal Activity 3 for Room 101, Paramount Pictures and producer Oren Peli, writes IMDB and the Burning Palms press release. Doing a little research, while Perry is listed on IMDB as the writer of Paranormal Activity 2, Landon is now also listed as a participant. I guess you can say they’re reteaming for the trilogy? I’m all for remakes, I really am, but if you’re going to do it, can you at least take it seriously? While Ehren Kruger stumbled his way into the writing job of The Ring remake (a film turned into a gem by director Gore Verbinski) and slightly entertained me with The Skeleton Key, his credentials don’t make me smile, especially after the painstaking garbage that was Blood and Chocolate (oh jeez, don’t remind me). Now the genre vet is putting his fingers all over one of my all-time favorite movies, David Cronenberg’s Videodrome. I won’t be eating that anymore. (more…) READ MORE
While we’re convinced this sucker is going to go right to DVD here in the States, B-D reader Joey M. is more excited than anyone should be more this Lionsgate title arriving in Russian cinemas next month. Thanks to Joey, we got our hands on 11 stills and a Russian poster for Kill Theory, which stars genre fav Agnes Bruckner (Blood and Chocolate, The Woods, Vacancy 2, Venom). Chris Moore’s film, which also has gone under the monikers KILLERS and LAST RESORT, revolves around a group of close friends who visit a remote vacation home to celebrate their college graduation. Today we scored over a dozen new images from MGM’s Blood and Chocolate, which hits theaters everywhere January 26th. The story takes place in modern day Bucharest and tells the tale of nineteen year old Vivian Gandillon (Bruckner), who has spent her life on the run from the truth…. that she is a werewolf. When her affections for a visiting American artist threaten to expose her family’s secret society, she must choose between her love for an outsider and betraying the secret vows of her family.
