ew
Pretty stupid.
HORRRRIBLE!!!!!
Borrowing from Native lore, this film was not as fresh a take on the topic of shape-shifters as it could have been. Stylish but lacking enough plot to really carry it through to the end, and predictable.
Great to see an almost all Canadian cast thou.
Decent. Had a good story, but not enough action. Decent acting, but not so good werewolf effects.
Decent… Not much else to say. More of an action flick. Not much else to say that hasn’t already been said.
This movie was your, “standard straight to dvd” C horror/action movie. I think that’s what makes it great. From the cheesy werewolves, ridiculous action/fight scenes, horrible script, and to the random casting and the craptastic acting. As long as you don’t take it seriously and can appriciate crappy movies, you’ll be fine. How can you not respect a movie where the writers think they’re so awesome that they don’t have to properly explain anything because they know that we, the viewers, will automatically read their minds and know exactly what’s going on? Classic crap.
So in case you missed it, here’s what they’re not telling you:
The Town: The town that gets shot up and is where some of the “good” werewolves live is made up entirely of werewolves and the werewolf-friendly. What better way to protect this kid and his mother than to surround them with an army of gun toting werewolves? So when that weird guy drinking his coffee on the porch of his store sees the not so scary Jason Behr approaching, he sounds the alarm (again, not sure how that went down, maybe phone tree?) and the town goes deserted for the show-down.
The human mother: She’s just a human that a werewolf fell in love with and married. All was good and happy until they were attacked by some evil werewolves; which btw is a complete FAIL if you have town full of werewolves…When her hubbie gets clipped, she just lives with his family and they help her raise her son.
How she didn’t figure out she was surrounded by werewolves for 13 years: She’s a moron. The crappy writing and lack of imagination leads the writers to allow for a level of idiocy for the story to work (in their minds).
The “Cure”: Apparently the natural born mix of human and werewolf blood, after being cultivated for exactly 13 years, is the cure.
So once again, the fact that someone has to explain what the hell is going on after the movie is a huge FAIL on the part of everyone involved. But if you like to make fun of and laugh at crappy movies, this is for you.
But I will leave this thought for everyone: what kind of messed up kid automatically accepts that he and his whole family are werewolves, there are people coming to kill him, and that he’s their savior? o_O And this is only one of many things to pick at, have fun.
At least Rhona Mitra is in it.But the effects were terrible. Not bad but not goood just bland.
absolutely horrible.
The only thing good about it was the
heavy metal intro and credits…
I liked Jason Behr’s werewolf appeal. However with the bad cast, plot and effects that was the only positive note.
You couldn’t even pay me to watch this again horrible
Great as a movie-of-the-week action flick, but I wouldn’t call it a horror film.
Oh, I just recognized that now I have seen all movies from James Isaac (um, all 4…).
Why? I don’t know. I’m definitely no fan of his work. “Jason X” is fun but mediocre, “House 3″ is lame, “Pig Hunt” is stupid – and “Skinwalkers”… well, it’s undoubtedly the low-point of his career so far.
A tedious and stale kinda-werewolf flick with a completely ridiculous plot, a lousy script full of flaws and holes, laughably bad acting, laughably bad dialogue and a bunch of totally lame-looking wolfmen. 1 point for some nice camera work and 1 point for the fabulous cover artwork, that’s it.
Crap.
