Dark Castle has brought us something better than return to house on haunted hill, ghost ship etc. but not as good as house of wax. this movie had a god story, was freaky and had a shocking ending. this is a movie that is worth watching once but not again. if you know how everything ends the movie is pointless. this movie is only good for the 1st viewing.

I am still torn about this movie, when I saw the first trailers for it, it made my list of movies to look for. Be it fate or not I was not able to get out and see it the first two weeks of it’s release then it was hard to find and was killed by most film critics (not that that has stopped me from going to see a film). Anyway I had a chance to catch it on cable recently expecting it to be a painful event. I was pleasantly surprise by the film. Don’t get me wrong the film had some major flaws but I was expecting worse. I loved Swank in her role. I was not as impressed with the whole wrath of God thing though, I thought that could have had a little more punch to it. Not bad to view it once.

Mixing religion into horror/sci fi movies are a tricky thing, because everybody has different emotions and feelings on it, what one person finds scary about some religious things, another person might not care one bit, these are always tricky films to play with, at the end of the film, it ends up being an average thriller with a cheap twist

Not the best film ever made but I enjoyed it I guess… it lacked in most things that make a horror movie good but I erally like the kid from Willy Wonka in this she’s creepy, and she dose a fairly good job.

It’s worth a watch but only if it’s on tv

I knew from the trailer this movie would not be good but lucky for me I saw it at my local library so I watched it for free and my first thought when it ended this sucked totally.

Pretty original, better than some of this other crap we’ve been getting. Hilary Swank = HOT. Creepy kids that attract locusts = NOT HOT.

Interesting premise but thats not enough to save this movie from the shithouse. Some parts were good but overall it dragged on and was very boring.

An ok storyline to start with, and Swank starring is a definite plus….but the body is slow and uninteresting, and the parts just don’t end up turning into a good film. Did not like the effects—came off a bit hokey—and the ending was overdone and silly. Not a totally unwatchable movie, but certainly nothing memorable.

‘The Reaping’ is a 2007 Horror & Thriller movie, which the film backstory dose specializes on about a southern christian twon about a young girls bring upon the ten connandment & as known the devil child by twon folk (in the film), which I didn’t thing the movie was a brilliant Horror film, but it’s a watchable Horror movie. The genre Horror & Thiller were both chilling & had some jump/scary moment in the film, the style, theme, element & texture were pretty well creative in this movie and I found the sound/muisc to be creepy & chilling towards most of the film.

The storyline/plot was better than expected & having some good backstory on the charcters in this movie, the acting was great by Hilary Swank, Idris Elba & aspecial by AnnaSophia Robb (even know she didn’t say much, but the way she portrayed her charcter was excllent), while the rest of the cast & unkown cast were average in the movie, with some of the visuals effects in this film I found to be really beliveable & really well capurted which was ace, the movie give your mind a split down in either beliving in god, the devil or religion or the facts in the science is what the movie shows & make the audinecs belive in either one or the other or maybe both of the facts in the film.

The Reaping was a pretty scary, I was going to give it 10/10, but it was too religious, but it’s still a great movie to watch.

An awesome mix of plagues, biblical implications and a small town with a sinister side, a flick worth checking out.

This movie had it’s pros and cons, like anything. I think the best part was the scene when Hilary Swank goes into the scientific explanation for all 10 plagues and how they connected. It was very interesting. Unfortunately, the movie as a whole just wasn’t there as a horror. It was just okay.

Not bad, not good… but it had its moments.

Watch it if you get the chance but don’t go out of your way to see it.

Some interesting visuals, and the concept of religion vs. science was done pretty well, but kind of lost steam towards the end. Had more potential to be better than it was, but it seemed as though no one really capitalized on that and instead chose an arbitrary villain and explanation. More information here:

You don’t have to be religious to like this movie, although I’m sure it helps. That’s probably why it gets a bad rap, it’s geared towards the religious.

I personally found it very enjoyable. The effects were good, the story was interesting, I really really liked it. Don’t be so hard on this one.

Stephen Hopkins has done nothing but torture his audience throughout his lackluster career of achingly bad potboilers. He’s the guy who made “Predator 2″, “A Nightmare on Elm Street 5″; and on significantly better days, he’s also the guy who directed “The Life and Deaths of Peter Sellers”. But now, he’s nearly outdone himself, as he has made “The Reaping”; a boring, stupid ship-wreck of a horror film that treats some good ideas and themes with extreme disrespect. Look, if it’s a religious horror film I’m getting; I want something smart. And I want something that deals with the clichÃ
