Barker’s ‘Dread’ Gains Director at Fox
Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan (‘Race with the Devil’ remake) talked a little bit today to Fangoria about their adaptation of Clive Barker’s Dread, which they scripted for 20th Century Fox. So what’s the status of that project? “20th Century Fox still owns it,” McWeeny reports. “Clive was completely behind us and I couldn’t have had a better experience with him, so we’ll see if Fox eventually comes back to it. There’s a director attached who has a very different vision of the picture than we do, but we’ll see.” That filmmaker is Eduardo Rodriguez, whose occult thriller Curandero is still awaiting release from Dimension. Finally an upcoming horror movie with some old school appeal- a remake of the horror thriller Race with the Devil is coming your way courtesy of Regency Enterprises and your good friend Moriarty from Aint it Cool News! The premise sounds cool, the original revolved around two couples that head off to Colorado for skiing and dirt biking.
