this movie was awesome.. it has a little bit of everything and delivered quality gore, laughs, and suspense the whole way through. i had it in my netflix queue forever and am glad i finally got a chance to watch it.
Great movie…hard to place in a genre as they cross between a few during the film, but definitely an effective an successful combination of horror and comedy. I am surprised that I haven’t heard more about it because it is definitely a must see. Watch this and enjoy~
This movie wasnt to bad but there was just something about it that I didnt really like. I just cant stand that damn British accent. But the movie was pretty funny, but could have used more gore.
this film is brilliant and very witty. Between this, shaun of the dead, and the cottage the british are on to something
boring. couldn’t finish it
dyer is superb. a british horror with everything. laughter, gore and suspense.
Best Film of 2007, Hands Down.
the start was funnny but once the killler wwas revieled and the motives it was eeeh
Once this movie got further into it, it became easier to watch. It could have used a little more gore. Worth watching but definitely missing something.
once you bring the army into it (minus the 28 days/weeks later movies) it becomes LAME. this movie was not good, it was ok, but not good
Cool movie…
If your British you will understand the humour a bit better, overall a good film.
this movie is a mix of every thing good!
i love this movie
to be it’s worth buying but for sure check this movie out!
I guess it got hyped up for me. It had some laughs, but I guess I was expecting more kills. Still decent though.
Loved the first half, then it went downhill. I really wanted it to be a straight-up slasher comedy w/ a Jason Voorhees-type character stalking. Instead, we’re revealed the villain and it’s kind of lame. I thought the humor was fairly spot-on and I swear the Brits have that market cornered. ‘Shaun of the Dead’ had perfect humor cues, and this is a close second. Enough gore here to satisfy the horror hounds.
it was ok….it tried to be funny and horror movie but it didn;t work for me.
not terrible. kinda funny
Danny dyer makes this movie.Sadly he`s just one man and can`t save it from being average.
But in saying that the bazooka scene was brilliant.
Even though I hate Danny Dyer I still LOVED this movie. I laughed my ass off… the entire premis of this film is funny. OMS I really liked Severance… I recomed it to EVERYONE even if your not into comedy horror it’s worth watching. Ton’s of gore, violence and comedy. It’s a perfect mess of the two… as with Shaun of the Dead. I give Severance 8 Crazy war criminals out of 10 Crazy war criminals
Seeverance starts off slow but once the killings start this film is notched up a gear! It’s brutal and funny at the same time! Worth a watch definitlely
Funny! Once the movie picks up its a fun ride. Good mix of comedy and horror.
Could’ve been so much better. I was really stoked for this one too. It’s just… nothing totally original or exciting and it just got a little annoying after a while.
It was cool that Laura Harris is in it though. I think she was the only non-Brit in the movie. Which is weird, but she’s hot and it was nice to see her in something else besides The Faculty.
This is the sort of movie that could use an American interpretation I think. Maybe then it wouldn’t feel so cheap and half-assed and contrived.
Like I said, I really wanted to like it though.
this is the butter to the tasty hot and steamy biscuit,
hilarious hot faced fun, horror comedys rule the coolest of schoo’ and this is one sex of a horror comedy.
I’m all for this.
The escort girls is all I’m sayin’!
its okay. 7.5
funny+gore=good movie
Ive decide that British horror and British horror-comedies are the perfect compliment to the month of October. Add this one to the list. Funny with smart kills. Got more than I expected with this one.
I really enjoyed this film a lot sure it isn’t a gore fest but its still a great movie
Muy bien!
Solid movie with some good one-liners.
This film doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. The gore and comedy work great together IMO. And you can tell the writers actually sat down and tried to make something original, which in Hollywood is very rare nowadays. Its in my DVD collection, I recommend it be in yours as well.
Absolutely fantastic movie, funny and scary in all the right places!
Passable British film that shows real promise in spots, but as a hole it’s far from scary and the humor and bloodletting don’t gel as well as they should (though the rocket launcher gag almost made want to give the movie another half skull). It’s certainly not bad but besides a couple standout moments and occasional cleverness you wont be missing a whole lot by skipping Severance.
Ok… Severance is marketed as comedy-horror but it’s not really funny with the exception of like one or two good jokes and it’s far from scary. Ok there was some good gore but it’s not enough to be truly enjoyable. Acting was ok but I didn’t really liked any of the characters nor did I like the antagonists. And what truly pisses me off is that I’m in the middle of my fucking final exams and I really don’t have time to fuck around. The only things I do are studying and get my fucking brains examinated by some extra hard tests and there I was wanting to take a break and have some good time seeing a horror movie and I get this… What a waste.
Decent film few laughs not really a full on horror but good none the less
it could have did better!!
Not really a good movie, not really bad either. Over the top stupid quite often, but pretty entertaining through most of it. It really wasn’t as funny as it was trying to be. Don’t expect a coherant plot, any shred of seriousness, or to be totally satisfied. If you just want to chill out watch a no brainer, you could do worse than this one.
Making a film and branding it a horror/comedy is a tricky proposition. When done right, you have gems like Shaun of the Dead and the Cottage. When done improperly you end up with a movie a bit like Severance.
One of my mains issues with Severance is that it just never really seems to handle or approach the comedy portion of the equation. The cast is certainly talented enough, but the writing and the dialog just don’t really lend themselves to real comedy. There were a few amusing bits where one character was tripping on mushrooms and the other had an oddly violent dream, but outside if this, the comedy was just never really present.
The big theme of people on a retreat getting picked off one by one doesn’t even work as it ends up being some type of back-door anti-defense contractor story regarding armed war criminals hiding out in the woods. Really once the action really starts occurring, I found myself caring less and less about what was actually happening. The violence was decent and there were a few solid death scenes, but again nothing special.
Ultimately I am guessing this one will enter the mileage may vary category. For me, it just didn’t really work out.
very……..odd.
Severance was good it was very fun to watch.
