I only got this because I needed a fourth movie at Blockbuster for “4 for $20.” I was kinda expecting something similar to “The Children” (which I hear is being remade this year or next), but it was more like “Coma” meets….um…”Village of the Damned.” Or something Stepford-ish. Sorta.
It was out there, even for Barker. Although, I gotta admit it was watchable enough for a second viewing, just to see what the hell I’d missed the first time. Turns out it’s just weird, not a thinker like “Undead,” not a fun WTF? like “Feast 3,” just weird. I think it was supposed to be an apocalyptic variation, but I’d also imagine that if Clive had been more involved, the film wouldn’t have felt so…
…random.
Ok Im screaming out loud, can you hear me? What was this? Im plagued with nore questions then Thrills. This movie starts with such awesome creepy potential, then just goes nuts. how Clive Barker would ever put his name on this I will never understand. There is no explanation, it seems to try and go biblical I think. Hell who knows! Really good idea, awesome creepy idea, not played out with a great strory though. You should advoid this movie like the Plague.
i thought this movie was pretty damn good….CLive Barker and teenagers is a very dangerous combination!!!
I thought it was pretty decent however it could’ve used more blood, guts & gore for God sakes its Clive Barker! Unfortunately I’ve gotta
give this one a 7/10.
so-so.
The film makes no sense
I liked so much that I bought it, but I wasted my money. I bought it so I could try to figure it out. i liked but the last part is so hard to understand.
I don’t understand people’s problems or lack of understanding with this film?!! First of all, it wasn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be (except for the music in some spots) and then what it’s about *spoiler* It’s just Barkers take on “the Rapture”, but as opposed to people just dropping dead and going to heaven, he uses children as a vessel and if you’re scared or “not ready yet” then you’re soul is not truly with God so it’s not saved! It does explain this through the ex-priests note book, you just have to pay attention to what it says.
Overall a good film with an interesting story, definitely not your average killer kids film.
