It goes without question that 2007 has been a fairly decent year for horror releases.
Thanks to such films as 28 Weeks Later, Hatchet, and last but definitely not least, Joe Lynch’s long awaited sequel to Rob Shmidt’s 2003 grisly tale of a family of deformed, cannibalistic mountain men, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End. In most cases, I’m highly against sequels–mainly because they always seem to disappoint and often ruin something that was once a masterpiece on it’s own. For example, The Ring (based on Japanese director Hideo Nakada’s acclaimed horror-thriller Ringu) was, without a doubt, one of the scariest and most suspenseful films of the decade. Of course all of the glory behind such a well-crafted film was completely demolished by the follow up, The Ring 2. The most difficult fact about this to accept is that director Hideo Nakada was responsible for ambushing Gore Verbinski’s admirable re-creation of the original Japanese version of the film.
However, every so often someone has the guts to take on the intricate task of re-creating the same prominence that can be found in the first addition of what could possibly result in a series of horror films–better known as a franchise (I.E. Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Etc…) On very rare occasions, we are given the gift of an exemplary re-creation of one of our most cherished originals. Joe Lynch’s praiseworthy follow up to the popular 2003 film, Wrong Turn, is, without a doubt, destined to be known as one of the greatest horror sequels of the decade–possibly even of all time.
The film begins as we are introduced to a group of six very different individuals who have been chosen to star in a new reality television series hosted by retired Marine Captain, Dale Murphy. The simulated game of survival in the woods takes place in the backcountry of West Virginia, which just so happens to be inhabited by the same grotesque family of cannibalistic mountain mutants we were introduced to in the first Wrong Turn film. But wait–I forgot to give credit to the opening seen which features a catty and rather irritating blonde attempting to revive one of the mutants after running him down with her car. Seconds into the movie we see the girl literally getting split down the middle with an axe. I have to say, I’ve seen some pretty impressive opening scenes in horror films before, but none of them have ever blown me away to such an extreme degree as this one. The opening scene to Joe Lynch’s Wrong Turn 2: Dead End definitely deserves a standing ovation. After watching the first five minutes of the film, I knew I was in for a treat.
During the first half hour of the film, we are given a brief biography of each of the characters. The first, an artistic Vegan chick, followed by a dim-witted skateboarder, an athletic football star, a bodybuilding army girl, the quiet girlfriend of one of the members of the equipment crew, and a ditzy brunette. Each character contrasts the next, but they all have one thing in common: The desire to win the game and earn some cash. Progressively the movie starts to focus more on each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Now as a devoted fan of the genre I tend to watch a lot of horror films, which, over time, has strengthened my ability to predict the fate of the characters. But in this case I ended up failing–several times–to foresee where each of the characters would end up. In fact, I’d have to say that Joe Lynch did an outstanding job of keeping the audience guessing until the very end.
As a sequel to a movie that was humorous and full of gratuitous gore, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, really outdoes itself at being a picture perfect follow up to it’s predecessor. The characters are better developed to an extent where the audience knows which ones they want to win or lose, live or die. On top of that, Joe Lynch and Al Stein got much more creative with the splatter factor–which we all know is essential element of a good horror movie. Compared to Wrong Turn, the death scenes in the sequel are outrageous in terms of how far Bill Terezekis and his crew went with the special FX. The kill scenes in the first film were all pretty straightforward–with exceptions such as a hatchet to the mouth and an arrow through the eye. In the sequel however, with death scenes featuring disembowelments, severed torsos, and bodies being fed through meat grinders, Bill Terezekis’ makeup work did an amazing job of justifying just how grotesque these mountain mutants truly are. I can’t even begin to describe how much of a relief it is to watch a horror movie with only one CGI enhanced kill scene in it.
Somewhere in the midst of all the hype about horror remakes and on screen adaptations of graphic novels there lies the “dreaded sequels”. But truthfully, some of these sequels deserve a lot more recognition that they are given. Is it because they are considered nothing more than a half-assed follow up to the first of what could possibly turn into many? Or is it because there are already so many disappointing sequels to good horror movies that the fan base is beginning to lose all hope? We the audience must keep in mind that as loyal fans of horror cinema, it is up to us to keep the industry thriving, and the only way that’s going to happen is if we give any and all horror films (including sequels) a chance. Sure we’ve been let down in the past–sequels such as A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2, The Ring 2 and hundreds of others have given us good reason to lose hope that maybe someday we will be presented with a creditable follow up to the predecessor. Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is a prime example of why horror fans should continue to hold on to some anticipation for future sequels, it’s a definite must see of 2007.
some good gore effects. terrible story. terrible acting. terrible everything besides gore.
some good gore effects. terrible story. terrible acting. What a horrible movie compared to the First one,the writers need to be kicked out of Hollywood.all i can say is GLAD i did not buy this one..WTF. if i could give a -3 rating i would. Tales from the crapper was a much better movie then this
Interesting enough starting point, but it all goes downhill from there. Horrible acting, horrible scripting… you name it. There are a few great gore effects and a couple of funny situations but that’s it. Too bad considering that I loved the first movie. The rave reviews it is getting in many places do not help this movie at all, as you indeed expect a good movie which is not. Beware!
I wasn’t expecting much from a straight to DVD sequel to a Hollywood movie, but this one actually surprised me and entertained more than the original. The addition of plenty of physical props and special effects compared to the originals CG effects made this one stand over its predecessor. Overall a very fun film with gore aplenty and enough laughs to keep it gripping in between the action. I think I’d almost go as far as saying that this sequel tops the original in terms of overall quality.
eh, this movie was as good as halloween resurection. The movie did finally get good after the whole “REALITY TV” thing, which was pretty much after everyone was dead.
but the last few ending scenes were quite good..
Amusing gore effects, very bad casting (Henry Rollins is in it), even worse plot, and unoriginal hollywood gore. Rent it, don’t buy it
Almost better than the first.
This movie was just bad. I figured it was gonna be great considering how good the first one was. But, I was dissapointed. Very disgusting some parts. I didn’t even watch all of the movie. Just not good.
So much better than the first hands down!
loved the first movie and I hate this one.
total bullcrap and bad acting !
I did not like this as much as the first (that one gets a 5/5 from me!) but it’s easily the best DTV movie I’ve ever seen. The directing and gore are top-notch… some of the acting was a little flawed but nothing too serious. However, the comedic tone gets old. Comedy-horror movies aren’t so great — bring back good, old-fashioned serious horror.
The first movie wasnt to bad. At lease the acting was good in that one. The acting is really bad in this movie, and what is worse is that the best actres (crystal lowe) was killed off after about 20 minutes. It was good but for all the wrong reasons. I found myself laughing at the action, dialogue and acting. It was really predictable and boring! The gore (which is the best part about the move) sometimes looked fake (the pink insides, what were they supposed to be? intestines?)
Overall i would say dont watch this movie unless you want to watch a really un-scary, crappy movie that you can make sit and laugh at.
Bad acting but fun movie…
Ignore all bad reviews for this movie. TRUST ME. This movie is just pure fun from start to finish. Good gore, good acting, and Henry Rollins running around as a tattooed Rambo make this a decent film worthy of praise.
Horrible acting still Henry Rollins best performance especially his death scene! Movie is a lot of Fun and a lot of Gore!
Well well another sequel to a movie that was not very good at all! When will hollywood learn to stop making the direct to dvd movies??? I bearly enjoyed the first one with it’s HILLS HAVE EYES in the woods idea. I mean who need s another movie with inbred cannibals trying to kill you??? The gore was great in both of these movies but the acting was so bad it was funny. The cast walked around eating up the sceanery with over BAD acting!!! The opening scean with the blondes death sets a high bar for this movie that does not live up to!!! Not scary kinda sick and disturbing especally when the brother and sister of the inbred cannibals start to get it on!!! The main carictors were unlikeable and the premis of the reality show is retarded!!! Nothing about this movie it redeeming or worth the 5 dollers to rent! I give WRONG TURN 2 Two inbred cannibals humping out of ten inbred cannibals humping!
“Honestly, this movie was terrible. It wasn’t even good in a charming sort of bad way. It was just bad.
It reminded me of those VHS DTV movies from the 80′s & 90′s (see: Lunch Meat) that I only watched to torture my little brother. But even those had their kitsch. WT2 is just unwatchable.
What really steams me is the reviews on this site. All of the 10-star reviews are absurd! Are you people out there really falling for this ploy? I mean, just the fact that each one is espousing the director as a “Master of Horror” is a dead enough giveaway that something is fishy… This is his FIRST FILM!!! That is quite the meteoric rise to mastery! I sickened by all of you marketing worms who ruin this site for the rest of us. You should be ashamed.
Back to the movie itself: The plot was so contrived, It bordered on postmodern genius. Wait… No it didn’t. It was just contrived. The acting… Well, the other honest reviews on IMDb said all that needed to be said on this front. The cinematography looked like is was shot on VHS. Not even S-VHS. (See above). And to top it all off… Henry Rollins. Oh, sad sad Henry Rollins. Why hast thou forsaken us? More importantly, how can I possible take you seriously in IFC from now on?
My advice, should you choose to accept it: Avoid at all costs.” –obscurecinema, imdb.com
fun movie
Not as good as the first one. The first one was very orginal, and this one seem’s dated.
It was good
Soooooooooooo much better than the craptacular original… Loved this movie!
Watch the first 10 minutes then ff 30 minutes until the next kill scene. For the rest of the movie you’ll see some of the goriest kills out there. I almost turned it off 20 to 30 minutes into it. Yea it’s like the hills have eyes in the woods but thats not a bad comparison. The last 45 minutes are a gore fans movie.
THE BEST STV MOVIE I”VE EVER SEEN!
Everything about this movie was absolutely fantastic, the gore, the campyness, the acting, the kills, HENREY FUCKIN ROLLINS!!!
This movie gets a 9/10 because the dynamite scene literally made my entire living room light up red from all the blood.
more giblets than you are ever going to see in a movie. a great opening scene, not very scary but a decent suspense/gore film.
Not as good as the original, but if your looking for a blood soaked gory ass sequel with crazy imbred hillbillies, this is for you, however ive had quite my share of this particular type of movie, and seen it quite alot lately, and feel this doesnt differ to much in terms of originality or acting, but there was some fun elements to the movie and a few funny things about it and overall it was just pretty average to me, i didnt love it but i didnt hate it either.
“Wrong Turn 2″ makes a bloody right turn in this amazingly fun and entartaining direct-to-video sequel.
The plot is overused, but it worked really well in this movie. The gore and violence are on high levels and I have no reasong to brag about that.
Overall, it was an extremely fun horror movie that delivered the goods, literally.
8/10
After four years of anxiously awaiting Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, I was not only incredibly surprised, but it ended up as one of my favorite films ever. Lightyears better than the first movie, Wrong Turn 2 is legions ahead of most movie sequels and is not just intelligent, but nasty, strange, funny, and wholly unpredictable. The whole movie is one non-stop thrill ride, and the ending is simply perfect.
So does the movie tie in well with the original? Yes, it definitely does! Besides a few inconsistencies with the two surviving characters from the first film, this sequel brings back two of the cannibals and introduces a vast family of creepy disgusting inbreeding freakshows.
And let’s talk about scares and gross-out factor. Was this movie incredibly disturbing? You bet your sweet ass it was! The acting was not just amazing for direct-to-video fare, but the directing and cinematography are stunning. For once, we have a highly original plot slightly in the vein of Halloween: Resurrection, but far superior.
The characters were all incredibly likable, and I love how there were several scenes that really give you an idea of personalities, character traits, and utilizes fantastic dialogue and some of the best and most creative gore sequences on film.
Overall, Wrong Turn 2 is not simply some crappy direct-to-video waste of time–once again, this sequel is so far superior to the original, and a new horror masterpiece. For the horror fan, Wrong Turn 2 absolutely CANNOT be missed.
After the first ten minutes I knew I was in for a treat. A great movie in almost every way. Just, for your sake, don’t watch it while eating, before eating, after eating, or if planning to eat sometime in the near future.
i cant remember the last time i had had so much fun with a movie. it far surpasses the original, witch was also great by itself, in terms of gore, sex, and humor. my only problem with the first film, was you never really got to see the cannibals for much time. i was happily surprised to see the sequel made up for the tiny error. another point of interest is the preformance by the great henry rollins. he adds a little something the first had very little of. humor. the man is hilarious. this is a great movie that you will have alot of fun with. great effects and makeup.
It was fun… nothing new but it’s ok to watch if you have nothing to do
It was a very entertaining movie. Henry Rollins does a good job as the hero.
This movie was bad ass! I honestly thought that it would be a waste of time. But after the first 15 minutes I knew that this was no crappy b-grade horror fest. The acting was extremely well done and all the characters had their own unique and special charm about them. None of them were annoying or just plain stupid like in some horror movies where your waiting out for the lame characters to meet a gory, vicious end. The humour in this movie was awesome, it didn’t go over the top and there was enough to keep you laughing until the end. The storyline was simple and wicked, apocalyptic survival reality TV show filmed out in the woods, group of people trying to survive in the game but realise this is no game anymore when they are soon attacked by brutal, filthy hillbillies. The special effects were suprisingly realistic and looked very nice, the hillbillies looked kick ass and freaky. The gore in this movie was insane, as soon as the first death happened on screen I knew that this was going to be one hell of a gore soaked thrill ride. The blood and gore looked real and some of the deaths were creative and sometimes even funny. Yes I know I’m sick. The ending was brilliant. I was so happy when the mummy and daddy hillbillies finally got what they deserved. It would have sucked if none of the normal characters survived. Overall wrong turn 2 was just perfect in every way, it was miles better than the original and was a unexpected treat. I give it a 9/10.
Henry f*cking Rollins — all that really needs to be said and you should already want to see this movie. very entertaining movie with some great death scenes and well mixed-in comedy. The BD review is bang-on on almost every point. could it even be possible this was better then the original (which i loved…) ??
Excellent movie this should have been in cinemas the only bad point i can find with this film is the fact that they rewrite the history of the monsters in the first one they were inbreeds in this one they’re mutated by toxic waste but apart from that this movie is great
Erica Leerhsen thats all i have to say
Being a fan of the first film, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the second. I’m not a fan of Rollins, but I even enjoyed his performance. Blood-a-plenty in this one. Not a bad way to kill an evening. It is a little slow after the first kill, but give it time. You’ll be up to your eyeballs in entrails in no time!!!
Twice as diabolical. Twice as gory. Twice as fun. And Henry Rollins is a badass! He may die, but he dies like a badass! The one things that kept me from completely enjoying this film as much as the first one were the crappy TV acting (which they needed anyway) and the immaturish ways of the contestant who was paired up with the army chick. Either way, this movie was gloriously gory and more disturbing than the first, especially the baby birth scene, the masturbation scene, and the scene where the two hillbilly kids get it on. This film was awesome!
this movie was alright… the death scenes were brutal though
great sequel with good actors
Good actresses and actors. Brutal. Amazing gore. The plot was ok though. I just love watching people explode though. That’s just me.
This is an amazing movie, have blood, great actors, decent plot, blood. A must see for every horror fan.
Wrong Turn 2 had a good plot to it and I think the acting was good for a lower budget film. The movie was able to incorporate enough gore and it reminded me of The Hills Have Eyes in a way with the deformed canibals. I’d recommend this for anyone who likes gory films.
Twisted and sick! Kicked the first ones ass! Rollins rules!
CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!!!. Wrong Turn is my favourite movie of all time and when i heard about this sequel i was hoping for the aftermath of Chris and Jessie. This was just plainly made for gore scenes. As Wrong Turn had a complex storyline and wasn’t mainly focused on the gore, i was in hope this would be the same. This was just basically a rip off of what Rob Schmidt and Stan Winston (R.I.P) had created. These mutants were just so fake and weren’t what i had hoped for. I am so glad this didn’t go theatrical because then I would think from it’s income from rentals that it would out do the perfect original.
The plot was basically just based on the Gore and Mutants. What it didn’t live up to was originality. The original i think is so original and this is just a soppy sequel. In real life it couldn’t happen because before reality shows are filmed the whole location is searched before filming. What this sequel as many do is fail to out do the original.
The cast were all young and familiar, and alot of them were from other horror films. Erica Leerson (Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) was cast as the main charactor and she done well. Texas Battle (Final Destination 3) was also a main character that was great. Daniella Alonso (The Hills Have Eyes 2) lived up to her tough chick image. Crystal Lowe (Snakes On A Plane, Final Destination 3, Black Christmas) seems to always play the part in any movie of the slut. The acting was great but without great directing and a average plot it didn’t work.
Overall Wrong Turn 2: Dead End has gore it didn’t have a solid plot. My rating is 2.5/5
not as good as the original..the only thing i liked about this was the faces the guy made when the girl was giving him a blowjob…
not as good as 1 but a fun ride cool kills and rollins! for a straight to dvd i thought was gunna blow it was pretty good.
great flick, i loved it. much better than “hills have eyes 2″ and half the other shit that makes it to theaters nowadays.
I cant believe anyone liked this horrible movie. A mutant jerking off and his wife beating him? A baby mutant being nursed with a human finger? Atrocious acting and terrible storyline? WoW! The only enjoyable part of this movie was that hot naked girl. I thought this was one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen.
Very enjoyable and filled with suspense. Not as great as the first but still better than The Hills Have Eyes 1 or 2!Love Erica too and the rest of the cast were great! And Damn CRYSTAL LOWE!
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is a sequel to 2003′s Wrong Turn it was released directly to DVD on October 9,2007 the expectations for the film were low considering it has a 4 million dollar budget and went DTV.
The film premise is about a gruop of reality show contestants filming a show in west virginia, the contetants get lost and must face a family of cannibal inbreds. For a DTV film it was great definetly one of the better ones out there the gore effects were descent, acting descent, character development SHIT!, and the cannibals make up pretty good.
I always think that when ever theres more freaks or monsters in movies it helps the story, there are 6 freaks in this film including a fefomed baby only apperaing in 2 short scenes we see the return of the awesome three finger this time portrayed by jeff scrutton. The make up for them is ok not is good as the first movie but i didnt think the 1st movie was that great eather the brother and sister and ma are the best looking ones i think but still there inbreds and drink chemicals come on.
The characters are ok Dale is the best!! but the rest are pretty shitty no good charcter devolpment like the 1st film
overall ot was really good im really exited for part 3 just hope theres more than 6 and they look more deformed
This movie was good for a straight to dvd film. its been a while since ive seen it so i wont go into to much detail about specific scenes that i like and didnt like. i do remember that The deaths were amazing and where else can you see two mutant family members having sex on a stump. priceless. i also love the obvious shout out to Battle Royal. I actually own the battle royal shirt that one of the characters is wearing. bought it off the internet after i watched this movie.
7/10
About a dozen times better than the first. The characters are all shallow and derivative but it’s not about the idiot teens trying to survive like every other horror movie. It focuses more on the fucked up, homicidal family.
Just straight up more demented and bad ass than the first; not to mention more fun and creative. The effects are flipping sweet and the first death alone is worth the price of admission.
Sometimes I think people miss the point entirely; that’s how I feel about people who enjoy the first one more. It’s so plain and unimaginative.
Also, I worry that some people here may be too young to comprehend the significance of Henry Rollins’ character. Hello, an ex-member of Black Flag turned actor; his role as the Rambo type character is just sheer Bruce Campbell as Ash-esque genius.
what the fuck was that ? realy Psychokinesis!!!!
Ok, so let me first off express how much I enjoyed Wrong Turn 2. On point acting, good plotline, AWESOME special effects and was actually genuinely disturbing due to the fact that i’ve driven through West Virginia before and there are backroads that will have barbed wire across the roaad hidden and shit like that. Carry a gun with you in West Virginia!!
So, I went into this movie thinking its just another cheap horror b movie sequel.
Boy was I wrong. This movie is INSANELY CRAZY. BIZARRE.
There was atleast one point where I almost gagged (I wont give it away but its not even because of gore)
If you enjoyed the 1st movie, you will LOVE the sequel.
Just get past that campiness of the reality tv show participants (which is actually some of the fun in watching them die) and you will enjoy. 10 / 10 stars from ZombieJasonVorhees just because it caught me off guard with the level of care and love that went into creating this sequel!
Great movie, i really enjoyed it alot, great amount of gore, freaky fucking family, and henry rollins wat more could you ask for!
I’m surprised! Much better than Part 1!
This movie was not as good as the 1st one the 1st one was way better then the 2nd one the 2nd one was way better but it was a good movie I liked it but it didn’t creep me out like the 1st one I liked cause the black guy survived
Wrong Turn 2 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed Wrong Turn. The movie is set in the same area, which features American teenagers setting foot in the jungle, to take part in a gameshow for TV. As with every horror movie like this, there are corny acters, big breasted women and the serious ones. But, that doesn’t stop Wrong Turn 2 to deliver what it does best, create horror! I found the movie really slow to begin with, except the amazing begining, which I won’t spoil for you, but it will literally have you splitting! Anyway, putting aside the jokes, Wrong Turn 2 offers a good mix of horror, and a slight mix of comedy, which ruined it in my opinion. Unlike the first, you actually see these cannibals let loose, you see there faces, you learn who they are and what they are doing, which the first one lacked. But, Wrong Turn 2 doesn’t offer what the first one did. It has alot more gore that the first, which is great for any horror lover, but the over-the-top acting, and cheesey script pulled this film down to the ground. I admit, the gore was great, the horror was suspensful, but again, there wasn’t enough here to make you want more. The plot was also very crunchy, some plot holes where left open and some bizarre things happened, which wouldn’t in reality. The make-up and special effects were done perfectly, but it didn’t manage a overall better score that Wrong Turn.
Overall, a worthy rent for a laugh, but don’t expect much. This is no big time blockbuster, but will make horror fans smile in delight.
5/10
A great sequel and one of the best horror film sequels on the DTV market. The first is a tad better, but this is still a great flick nonetheless.
Wrong Turn 2 is no masterpiece and it’s rather predictable but damn, it’s fun ride. IMO, as good as the first one and Rollins kicks ass!
Definitely recommended.
it was quite boring but entertaining at the same time.
another cliched movie about contestants of a game show under attack by killers, but goddam, is this movie awesome???
much better than the first, more violent, more graphic and the Uglies look much better, especially the daughter!
and unlike the first ‘Wrong Turn’ or any other cannibal movie, you actually see the Uglies cook and eat people. damn good movie!
The Hills Have Eyes 2 was not that good but I can’t believe most people would choose this over it. There was nothing new here: just another mutant monster movie killing a bunch of people in a forest. Get real guys.
I actually thought this was better than the first film. I had a blast watching it. Rollins kicked major ass. Good times.
These movies remind me of the hills have eyes gone woods but this was pretty good
Very good Gorey DVD Sequel I Lv it!!
While I really liked Wrong Turn, I just couldn’t get over the silliness of this movie. The acting was so bad that I had a hard time getting to the movie itself. Henry Rollins is a god when it comes to music – but man he should give up acting. They should just have skipped this movie.
Wrong Turn 2
Is one of the best straight to video horror movies and especially sequels I have seen.
The gore is abundant and the effects are very well done.
Henry Rollins is the stand out in the cast of good actors..
I loved wrong Turn and had reservations about liking this one but it did not disappoint in the least. The characters were likeable and the mutants were taken to a new level by adding female monstrosities and incestuous siblings.
I have watched it about 4 times already and will watch it many more times .
When I find a slasher movie especially a slasher in the woods movie I like from this era I’m so pleased because I’m a big fan of the early 80′s slashers but every once in awhile a new movie comes out that satisfies me like Wrong Turn and wrong Turn 2.
Don’t listen to the haters ..It’s a great slasher flick.
I actually like this one better than the first because it’s unapologetically politically incorrect and oozes in your face gore and carnage.
More fun than the original (if that means anything). Still, the major problem in both are the villians. They are such ridiculous caricatures of hillbilly inbreds that they just end up being unintentionally funny more than frightening. Good gore is not enough, at least for me.
This movie is as dumb as the people who enjoy it. I guess if enjoy wasting your time watching shit movies than by all means be my guest. The acting is… well I’ve seen worse but it’s not great. This movie’s attempt at humor is super weak, I didn’t even smirk once throughout this entire turd.
Visually it’s… meh :/ The shaky cam stuff in this film looks super cheap. If it was thier intention to make some of the gore unrealistic and cheasy then they succeeded; case in point the scene where one character recieves an ax to the head and and a stream of blood seams to stream from her skull like a water hose : Really?
I mean I guess I’m just surprised at the glowing reviews this movie is garnishing on this site O.o Some people need to seriously raise their standards this movie is okay if you simply have absolutely nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon but otherwise don’t waste your time.
A Good Sequeal. Set in the same woods but this time the family is bigger. And more gross. More Guts, Blood and Gore. And some nudity. This more Violent then the first and is just as good. There is a scene in this movie that reminds you of a Classic seventies horror. The dinner table scene in this is more or less like the one in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There is one exception. The women is bound in metal that is cutting into her skin. Still one of the best Sequeals ever made!!!!
Not as god as the fist one. Still entertaining.some moments shine.
If you can get over the fact that this one is way more over the top, you’re in for a good ride.
If you’re looking for a direct sequel to Wrong Turn 1 in terms of style and mood, then you may be dissapointed.
I had a blast with this film. And to the people tat rated this movie so low, you may be on the wrong website. This is a website for avid horror / slasher fans. If you didn’t enjoy this movie, you’re not a true fan of those genres, period.
YES it’s a B movie, YES it’s got some corny acting, if you can’t get over that then just move on to something else.
If you wanna sit down and laugh your ass off and be grossed out, this is the movie for you.
great gore.
This is right up there in my list of all time favourite horror films. I don’t care what anyone says sure the gore is overdone and the storyline isn’t unique one bit but at the same time for a low budget straight to DVD sequel it exceeds everyone’s expectations. And who doesn’t want to watch HANK kick some inbreed hillbilly ass all over the woods haha.
I haven’t seen Wrong Turn 3 because it sold anywhere in New Zealand but it has to be one hell of a movie to beat this film.
sweet movie and awsum sequal
Freaking awesome. I loved it as much as the first. Amped up gore and kills it’s like the first gorrified. Less scares than the first but makes up for in just collateral damage. i loved it
Very Very nice. I think the plot should have used some more thinking. Considering the whole REALITY TV thing has been used a lot! But all in all this movie is so worth watching!
this is way better than the first by far, good kill, good actors , and good story, i loved the crampa death it was so funny:) hopefully number 3 is good
not being a fan of the first one, i never saw this until a year ago. the secong one directed very well by joe lynch completely over shadows the first one. the kills are good and pretty brutal, the reality tv premise is fun, and henry rollins! what more do you need? watch it
Great!!
The best of the Wrong Turn saga.
Three thumbs up!!
Well I thought that it was probably better than the first one but the first one had more likeable characters. This Wrong Turn is much gorier though which is better and the first kill is one of the best i’ve seen in a while, but that’s the only good kill. The finale was exciting and tense and some parts were pretty sick. I’d definitely recommend it.
This is the pits. Henry Rollins cannot act…somebody needs to tell him that. He’d make a great Grandpa Munster if Hollywood does a re-make of The Munsters. Kyra Sedgwick has that Grandpa Munster “look” too.
this film is pathetic and shit the first one was much better and that wasnt even good the hills have eyes are much better than this crap, would also like to know whether there is going to be a third hills have eyes?
Fawesome!
Much much much better than 1 & 3
Be good if 3 had of exceeded like this one did
NOT TOO SHABBY FOR A REMAKE. I enjoyed the whole “reality show” idea behind the story of this movie. If not for that new element, this movie would have been exactly the same as the first Wrong Turn. It’s always funny watching Henry Rollins try to be a professional actor. If nothing else, some of the death scenes are pretty fun to watch (I love seeing the American Idol chick get chewed & ripped up at the beginning of the movie!)
So, to sum it up: it’s not too bad as long as there’s nothing else on TV.
not bad. nothing too shocking in this one a little redundant if you ask me. but not a complete waste of time has some good kill scene and a decent story line. and henery rollins is always fun to watch.
Really?
Good movie, but the Creature at the end was creepy looking it was a baby.
People need to relax this film is not meant to be taken seriously! Great little film and who can look past old hank kicking some inbreed hillbilly ass?
This movie was great! Hilarious! This movie was way over the top and I loved every second of it, besides the acting being silly at times.
A very good and fun, gory sequel to the awesome original.
Pretty awesome slasher flick. Maybe not the sequel you’d expect, but great none the less.

The film isn’t meant to be taken seriously and I can tell why when i watch it. I personally found myself laughing at more scenes than being scared of, or jumping at e.c.t, It’s pretty gruesome in parts but the effects just look so fake that it’s laughable as well. The characters were more developed in this than what they were in the first, we got to know a bit more about them throughout. I liked the whole TV show thing they had with this movie. Way Better than the first, very good re make. I rate it 7.
Took a relatively simple concept and thought they could reinvent the wheel by making it more complicated and stupid. The effects weren’t bad, but having to put up with terrible acting and dialogue for a few scecnes of gore wasn’t really worth it. We’re also supposed to know who the actress is in the beginning because she is “playing herself”? Who the fuck is she? Even Rollins couldn’t save this movie. More information here:

Bad movie. Stick to part 1 if you want a good movie.
How could you not love this movie? I am a fan of slashers and I didnt like the first film that much but this film is easily the best in the series.
Yes the acting still sucks but the kills were good and the plot was oddly more enjoyable this time around. I am giving this film an 8 out of 10, Very good slasher film.
I meant to rate wrong turn 4/5.
Wrong Turn 2 is a pretty good sequel though.
At first you expect “Wrong Turn 2″ to be some terrible d-grade piece of sh*t that there hundred’s, even thousand’s of swimming around in the horror world. But that was not the case.
I can honestly say i was pleasantly suprised, getting into the Wrong Turn francise was one of the best slasher decision’s of my life.
“Wrong Turn 2″ follow’s a basic plot of a group of young adult’s with drasticly mixed background’s mushed together to compete in a reality set in the backwood’s of west virginia. The cast and crew soon discover that they are being stalked and devoured by a family of inbred cannibalistic mutant’s.
Yes, i know.
The plot has been done to death over the year’s but the film is strangely refreshing.
As seen in the special feature’s you discover that the mutant’s production crew based the apperance of the family on real possible mutation’s & diasese’s giving the film’s slasher scene’s a spooky reality to them.
I highley recomend anybody who enjoyed film’s like “Hill’s Have Eye’s”, “Lake Dead” or “Backwood’s” to check out this movie.
Thank you & goodnight my fellow horror monkey’s.

I just didnt like it. And it had one scene just like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre the dinner scene.
Another great Wrong Turn; one of the best movies of the series.
ONE OF THE BEST STRAIGHT TO DVD HORROR MOVIES EVER. Its actually pretty good for a b monster movie. Its not nearly as good as the first one. But its a fun horror movie. And if you thought the 1st movie didn’t have enough gore than this one takes care of that.
THE BEST STRAIGHT TO DVD HORROR MOVIES EVER. Its actually really good for a b monster movie. Its not nearly as good as the first one. But its a really fun horror movie. With clever deaths, plenty of sick moments, and good acting. And it spreads the scope of the first movie, saying their are other family of mutants in the woods. And if you thought the 1st movie didn’t have enough gore than this one takes care of that.
Very few movies have been able to do what Wrong Turn 2 has done for me. The shock factor is extremely high and the sequel surpasses it’s predecessor. Filled with gruesome detail, the cannibalistic inbred family delivers.
