It wasn’t a great movie but I always liked the ending.
I saw this movie on the sci-fi channel and that’s where it belongs. If I saw the dude from seinfeld one more time look out his window and see something I was going to swear off Seinfeld. Just an ok movie. Nothing special.
A extremely fun monster movie, but see it on dvd not on the sci-fi channel. Edited horror movies with no blood or t&a just suck.
ONE OF THE BEST DTVS IN YEARS!!!!!!
oooh this is a very sub par movie. not allot of fun to watch. I would strongly suggest you avoid
This is a fun movie with plenty of cameos. It is a pleasent surprise where it succeeds in the bigfoot genre as so many others have failed. It is a fun movie, not big on scares or gore (although there is a cool head biting scene), but it is worth a watch for true horror fans who aren’t expecting a masterpiece, but are just looking for something to keep them entertained. Also, I obviously recommend the movie version vs. the sci-fi version which is straight lame.
‘Abominable’ is quite good for a lower budget horror film, and has a great assortment of cameos, including Dee Wallace Stone and a hilarious one by Jeffrey Combs. The acting is top-notch, especially for the protagonist. The movie is, simply put, a very solid, good horror film that smartly mixes creature feature elements with a Secret Window-esque plot line and an epic ending.
I only had three quips with it. 1) The movie has a slow start. You don’t even see the snowman for the first half of the film. 2) The snowman is very fake; so much so that you’ll probably laugh whenever you see it. 3) There is barely any gore in the movie, except for a brilliant head chomping scene (get the uncut version).
All in all, the movie is good for its type, and has a good mix of psychological horror, plot, and acting.
Not a bad movie, the cast and gore is solid enough, if you are into your creature feature then this might be up your street, personally ive always been intrigued by bigfoot, sasquatch and when he has a attitude as in this film it makes you curious to see it.
Weak remake. Even the cool cameos and one really nice kill can’t change the fact that the original “night of the demon” is superior in every way.
This is one of those train wreck movies, its so bad you cant help but watch…. But once you get in to it(bad acting a side)it was fun ….And the gore works well with the monster and the dumb ass girls…
“Hey, assmonkey!” what a great line. not a bad little flick. but, any movie with jeffery combs of lance henricksen cant be too bad. good gore, monster looks cool.some scenes toward the end were reminiscent of rear window, with the addition of the whole bigfoot killing everyone deal. not bad
OK. A little cheesey. You can tell it’s a sci-fi channel original movie by the effects and acting. Still waiting for the ultimate bigfoot movie.
Not that bad of a film but I couldnt stop laughing through the thing. Every time the Yeti thing would attack it just looked like a giant muppet running around killing people.
Pretty bad ass for a pissed off muppet movie
this made me laugh.
A really fun monster in the woods flick with an attractive cast and some fun execution. A little generic and unoriginal but entertaining nonetheless.
This was funny kinda cheesy i have to give it a 6 and a half
Don’t know if they intended laughs with this one, but it was a hoot. The monster is straight outta MST3000 send-ups, but is so unintentionally hilarious that you forget how silly it looks. Plus, the size of the monster is ever-changing. Sometimes it is two stories tall, and sometimes fits right through an open doorway–lol. There are a couple nice kills, and one great kill—-plus, a couple nice cameos: Lance Henriksen (Aliens), always a horror movie highlight, Paul Gleason (Breakfast Club) as a local smartass cop, and Jeffrey Combs (Re-animator). The overacting by the main character gets annoying sometimes, and the film is not very good or scary by any means–but it was fun to watch, regardless. I think I liked it somehow because the Yeti monster was kinda old schoolish, so in a way gave the movie a vintage monster feel.
I was really surprised by this one. I caught the last thirty minutes on Sci-Fi. I was so intrigued that I went to a local store & bought it. It’s a simple creature feature that has a little of the old school vibe. That’s why this flick works for me. No CGI bullshit!!! Great cast with some old horror faces we all love. Lots of gore & atmosphere. It’s just a really fun popcorn flick that has quickly become one of my favs. If you like those old creature flicks of the 70′s & 80′s, you’ll love this one. Check it out!!!
Have too agree with quints machete, this movie is very good. Some of scenes are funny but overall a good monster flick…..
Boring! Horrible!
this film was a good time. Good cheesy creature fun. There is also some good eye candy (T.Shepis too name one)for you who have a sugar tooth.
Funny. a good atempt at a movie that worked out well. funny creature effects and funny people. for a Sci Fi original it’s good
This was a pretty fun film. Great popcorn horror film.
Not bad for a scifi original. Not good, but it’s worth a rent.
For a film that I believe debuted on the Sci-fi channel, this is a pretty good production. We get no crappy CGI effects or horrendous acting and instead are given a legitimate film that beats most of the crap they show on that channel. To make this even cooler, we get a full fledged live-action Bigfoot in this flick that delivers some pretty cool kills and comes with some campy mannerisms as well. He was not a scary looking Bigfoot, but came of a bit comical to me, which I enjoyed. Think Hatchet’s Victor Crowley but in Bigfoot form. Now, to make THAT even cooler, we get some small roles from horror legends Jeffrey Combes and Lance Henriksen. Personally I would have preferred it if they themselves were the stars of this film, but that was not the case. Bummer.
Story-wise this film is the usual creature feature, but with a twist I have never seen in a creature feature film…a Rear Window-esque element. Because Preston is bound to a wheelchair he heavily resembles Jimmy Stewart’s character in Rear Window in which he is witnessing horrible things taking place but can do little about it. We also got this in the Shia-starring knockoff of Rear Window titled Disturbia a few years back. While this immobility element is not a new idea, it is a new idea in the realm of creature features, so I found that enjoyable and unique in its own right.
Director Ryan Schifrin did a fine job setting up a creepy atmosphere for the film, and secured a positive feel from me thanks to him settling for a live-action creature and some live-action gore scenes as well. He definitely put all seriousness aside and simply made this a fun film. It does not come off as overly cheezy like Peter Jackson’s early works like Dead Alive, but Hatchet-esque in the form of a creature feature. Nicely done.
Overall, this is a cool watch that does not deliver anything genre bending or overly praise worthy but does enough to be a fun-to-watch creature feature once things get going. If you like these creature oriented films with a little dash of campy fun then give this one a shot.
Abominable is a campy, fun little creature feature. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching this movie. It was just so cheesy, it was hard not to like. All In All, Abominable is a very fun, campy movie.
“Abominable” is one of the better bigfoot movies out there. It is a throwback to the killer/mutant animal movies of the late 70′s and early 80′s. No crappy CGI, surprisingly competent acting, and some fun kills. There is nothing flashy about it, and the monster looks a bit like a rabid muppet, but I absolutely love this movie! It’s fun, plain and simple. There’s nothing wrong with that!
Fun, exciting, silly and cheesy, but very good!
I have also seen this shop and I never pick up, I thought it sound like really bad b-movie.
I found B-movie really enjoyable, the acting is not that good, however it fit in with the rest of this b-movie.
There really good scare moments in this movie, that worked really well, I did not expect from this movie.
I wish they showed the Bigfoot a bit less, the parts of the movie see parts of him, found it be little scary, when we finally see the whole Bigfoot.
It’s was too bad, i found it little to goofy and not scary. they could of made him look a lot more scary.
Harry looks more scary this Bigfoot and I love Harry Hendderson 6 out of 10 good b-movie
