Argento’s ‘Bird with the Crystal Plumage’ Gets Blu-ray Date

Dario Argento’s classic The Bird with the Crystal Plumage will be arriving on Blu-ray February 24th from Blue Underground, according HiDef Digest. Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with newly-remastered 1080p video and English audio tracks in DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 7.1 Surround and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 Surround. (An Italian track is also set for inclusion, but exact audio specs remain TBA.) Extras include an audio commentary with journalists Alan Jones and Kim Newman, four interview featurettes (“Out Of The Shadows,” “Painting With Darkness,” “The Music Of Murder” “Eva’s Talking”) and theatrical trailers and TV spots. Head back to 1970 and see why Dario Argento was called the “Italian Hitch****” with his feature film The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, which has no been re-released on DVD thanks to Blue Underground. Argento’s break-through film follows a writer who is stalked by a serial killer after witnessing a murder attempt on one woman’s life.
