It blows me away that I have not seen or heard of this film earlier. This screams for a much higher cult following…and Anthony Hopkins? Directed by Richard Attenborough(John Hammond, Jurassic Park)? …and of course, the man with “all the time in the world” Burgess Meredith. Flawlessly and suspensefully eases into the plot, with a great performance done by (a very young) Anthony Hopkins. Screw “Dead Silence.” If you can find a copy, check this out!
This film is a true gem. It is packed with great actors and actresses and has a great plot. I heard about Magic because of my former interest in ventriloquism and I loved it. I wish I owned the Fats dummy haha. It’s only flaw that I can think of is that it left out some parts that the book had like the back story of Corky. In the words of Fats, this movie is fanfuckingtastic!
