Suprisingly really funny. I rented it last night on pay per view and loved it. It has a scooby doo feel to it with guts, nudity, and of course swearing. Also has a ton of cameos. Overall worth a watch.
Great Saturday Morning Cartoon!
Liked the violence and the cartoons, but didnt found it funny… honestly, i was bored the whole movie.
Wasn’t to crazy about it. I don’t know who was more annoying Sheri Moon Zombie or Rosario Dawson. If Velvet Von Black was voiced by someone other than Rosario Dawson it would have been better. The movie wasn’t even funny. I would have liked to see more of Captain Spaulding & Otis. Seeing Michael Myers as a toon was awesome as well as Dr. Satan. I liked the blood & nudity, but that was about it.
I gotta say I didn’t expect much from this movie because I barely heard about it and then I just saw it at wal-mart. So skeptically I bought it and boy was I surprised. The humor is great, the animation is beautiful, the voice acting is all wonderfully done by some top-notch actors and the songs are catchy. All in all as far as cartoons go this one is a must see in my opinion.
Even if I wanted to like this, I can’t just because Rob Zombie made it so it automatically sucks. Fuck U Rob Zombie!!!
I was waiting in anticipation for this film to be released because I’m huge on horror and still love cartoons; plus I am fond of Rob Zombie and feel that he has an excellent eye and sense of imagination for this type of project.
Rob- you dropped the ball.
The animation was excellent as well as the voice overs (except maybe Rosario Dawson) but after is where it all falls apart. The movie was not terribly funny and there was way too much nudity. Complain all you want, sex and nudity can not save a film unless its porn- and El Superbeasto was never mentioned as a full on porno. I really thought Zombie was going to give the audience something special with this flick. In a way he does, but he sacrifices the story to do so.
I liked this, but it could have been better. The animation is good and the voices are well acted. I loved the voilence and dirtyness of the film. It just get a little too crazy and starts jumping from one joke to the next and losses focus. Good, but has room for improvement. Check it out on demand if your bored.
Has its moments and is very well made visualy but the story is lacking and should have been devoloped more. It was nice to see Otis&Spaulding again even though it was brief. Worth a rental.
My favorite thing about Rob Zombie’s film work is that he’s creating stuff that you’ll almost never see anywhere else. Say what you want, but most American film is pretty cut an dry. Seeing something like this is refreshing and fun. Do I want all films to be like this one? Hell no! It’s a guilty pleasure, like fetish porno. But it’s a hell of a ride.
This movie was gonna be my make or break in the interest in Rob Zombies film making career. I had given up on his music a while back and his movies had gone from solids to diarhea so this was his last chance of impressing me. And i’ll be honest this was a very entertaining movie. Adult and childish at the same time. If your a fan of Ren and Stimpy cartoons, such as myself this movie is a must see. The only major down-fall in this movie is the same in all of his movies and it goes by the name of Sheri Moon. If he ever gets a divorce his movies will get that much better.
It’s a perfectly grotesque mix of Ren and Stimpy with Fritz the Cat.
This was a great throwback to the Fritz the cat meets Heavy Metal style of animated films.Zombie didn’t direct this you fucktards he wrote the comics that this was based on and helped with the script. The cast was great, and yes Sheri was the weakest character voice but she was still passable. The music was hilarious and smart. The story was original and fun.I recommend mind enhancers to get the full effect or at least alcohol.
This was bad! Funny at parts and way to much nudity for a cartoon!
Unfortunately I’m not at all into lousy cartoon
rubbish no matter who’s behind it so this I gotta
say looks like just that….RUBBISH!
I was not entertained at all. The story line was pretty bad. The only good part was seeing Michael Myers get hit by Dr. Satan’s car and the cat fight. Who doesn’t love a cat fight
it was fairly good..little boobage..so what i didn’t mind!! something alittle diffrent from rob zombie.
I thought this film was fun. I really liked the spirit of it. And what’s not love about horny cartoon characters, not to mention all of the violence. I also like the many horror references. I heard something about a sequal. I would be into that.
Very funny, violent, sexy, and overall slapstick. Tons of gratuitous nudity and gore… a generally entertaining movie.
A massively entertaining, energetic and raunchy through back to the adult animation flicks of the 70′s and 80′s. Chock full of film references, over the top violence and nudity and moving along with the speed of a bullet train, El Superbeasto makes for excellent late-night viewing.
Excruciatingly offensive, and funny as hell.
Remember when you were younger and you’d sneak staying up late to watch cartoons on adult swim and other programs like that because all the older kids were watching them and you wanted to see them as well? You’d watch it and as a kid be excited because there was profanity and drawings of boobs and violence. It was cool. The key word is “was”.
The Haunted World of El Super Beasto is director Rob Zombie’s first animated film and it’s based on his comic of the same name. I have never read his comic but I can assure you that after sitting though this piece of shit, I won’t be rushing out to find it any time soon. Now, if it’s any consolation, I like Zombie’s other films. I mean, I really like Zombie’s other films. Yes, his work has its faults but nonetheless, I am a huge fan. El Super Beasto? Not at all. I literally had to force myself to sit though the whole 77 minute running time. This, by the way, felt so much longer than it actually was.
The story follows the perverted/sex crazed Super Beasto (voiced by Tom Papa) who is a wrestler of sorts and his sidekick/sister Suzi X (voiced by Zombie’s wife, naturally). The overall plot is that Beasto kind of falls for a stripper named Velvet Von Black (Rosario Dawson doing an extremely irritating accent but doing it so well, I had no idea it was her) and then Dr. Satan (Paul Giamatti) wants her so he sends his gorilla servant to take her and then Beasto goes on an adventure to get her back and calls Suzi away from her battle with Nazi zombies so she can assist him. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
It’s immature, boring, unfunny, and just plain childish. I’d heard it was extremely messed up and sick and it even starts out with a “warning” about the content which was completely unnecessary. There was nothing here that I even batted an eye at and the only semi amusing aspect of the film is an old man who operates an elevator who has a laugh that made me smile. That’s all this flick got out of me, a smile.
If you’re a fan of cartoon nudity, painfully unfunny jokes, Drawn Together style animation, and/or are one of the youngins I mentioned above, you’ll love it. All I can say is that it is just plain bad and I honestly hate saying that. I expect low brow humor and an overabundance of profanity/gore/sex in Zombie’s films but this was painfully bad.
As much as I disliked this, I have extremely high hopes for his upcoming film The Lord’s of Salem. Looks to be dark and nasty, the way I like my Zombie. Until then, I’ll just pretend this never happened.
