Damon Lindelof, Marc Forster And Paramount Discuss The “Insane” $200M Shoot Of ‘World War Z’

Imagine that’s not Brad Pitt up there, but a Paramount Pictures exec – surveying the scorched earth that resulted from the shoot of World War Z and wondering what the future holds. Just a few days ago director Marc Forster claimed that they hadn’t done that much re-shooting saying, “No, seven weeks is not correct. We shot for about four-and-a-half. Reshooting was always normal! …Our reshoots were a little more exposed in the press because we had a different ending. We felt a different ending would serve the movie better. It’s the same if you’re buying a house and you roll out a nice Persian carpet for your living room and you realize it doesn’t really fit.READ MORE

Now, director Marc Forster is aiming to clarify reports about the length of the re-shoots telling Empire, “No, seven weeks is not correct. We shot for about four-and-a-half. Reshooting was always normal! …Our reshoots were a little more exposed in the press because we had a different ending. We felt a different ending would serve the movie better. On the heels of the US one-sheets we now have the French poster Paramount has issued for Marc Forster’s World War Z, their zombie movie raising the dead on June 21. While the design isn’t as cool as the US one, I do like the epic sweep and use of color here. READ MORE

‘World War Z’ Footage Preview! Director Marc Forster Addresses Reshoots, The Size Of The Film In Relation To The Book And The PG-13 Rating!

Last Friday, Paramount Pictures invited a group of journalists to the lot to check out about 20 minutes of footage from World War Z, which is out on June 21st. After a quick hello from Brad Pitt, we saw the 3D version of the trailer that’s hitting theaters today (it hit the web earlier this week), which actually looked pretty good for a post-conversion. Following the trailer we saw about 20 minutes of footage culled together from the first two acts of the film. Then we were given a group interview with director Marc Forster, during which he fielded the questions that have been on a lot of our minds during this film’s lengthy production process. READ MORE

Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for Marc Forster’s World War Z, their action packed zombie movie raising the dead on June 21st. The Super Bowl Spot For ‘World War Z’ Basically Just A Shorter Version Of The Trailer

I didn’t hate the World War Z trailer, but I was sort of underwhelmed by it despite how huge it looks. I just don’t like the zombie hordes all that much. This Super Bowl spot doesn’t change much about that, in fact I’m not sure if I saw any new shots. Let me know if you catch any! READ MORE

‘World War Z’ Apparently Still Shooting, New Pics From Set

Last week we got a look at the epic (and somehow underwhelming) trailer for World War Z. But that doesn’t mean they’re done shooting! I know that there were some rewrites done on the film’s third act by Drew Goddard, but for some reason I was under the impression that the six or seven weeks of re-shoots those pages required had come and gone (they started shooting those in late August/early September). But Just Jared has snapped some pics they claim are from the set in London today – November 15th. So perhaps this is an additional couple of days? Anyway – Brad Pitt looks fairly bloodied up in them. The Apocalypse Is Here! The Full Trailer For ‘World War Z’!!!

This whole week we’ve been gearing up for war. Now we finally have the World War Z trailer. And, true to the footage we saw earlier, it looks huge. Definitely a very, very, very loose adaptation of the book. Back when running zombies were introduced to the horror vernacular I had no idea they’d eventually run so fast in film they’d look like cascading flood water. It almost feels like a Roland Emmerich touch. As for the rest of the trailer – it looks good, but nothing that I haven’t seen before in one way or another. READ MORE

Brad Pitt On ‘World War Z’ Reshoots

So when Prometheus and “Lost” scribe Damon Lindelof broke a new ending to the Marc Forster-directed Brad Pitt-starrer World War Z, he didn’t actually have time to revise the script. Those duties fell to The Cabin In The Woods co-writer/helmer Drew Goddard (who also adapted the upcoming Steven Spielberg film Robopocalypse). And now? The film has entered its 7 week long reshooting stage. HeyUGuys caught up with Pitt in London – and he kind of shrugs it off as being a natural part of a “massive movie”. READ MORE

Marc Forster’s ‘World War Z’ Cut Only 52-Minutes Long?!

The trouble behind Paramount Pictures’ Marc Forster-directed World War Z is no secret. The stories ranged from onset issues forcing reshoots to a feud with star Brad Pitt. In fact, it was reportedly so bad that “Lost” and Prometheus writer Damon Lindelof was brought in to do a third act, but after figuring out how much additional work was needed, he handed the project off to collaborator Drew Goddard. Drew Goddard Talks About His Work On ‘World War Z’

If you weren’t aware of how bad the project’s troubles are, word is that the situation is pretty severe. So much so that it’s not entirely clear if Forster will even be returning for the 3 weeks of re-shoots that are apparently required. READ MORE
