Haha this movie was sweet. The clown guy I thought was badass looking and ya gotta love the one liners he throws out all the time. Ya the plot was pretty much a rip off of Freddy but I still thougt it was a great movie. The acting wasnt terrible and the gore was nice even though it could have used more. Good movie all around and it made it even better when I saw Morgan Spurlock from Super Size Me pop up out of no where and starts selling fast food lol.
If you get a chance watch this decent piece of crap. This was actually pretty good. Not a big budget but still worth watching.
loved it
i thought a lot of parts of the movie were really funny and some decent gore effects
it loses 1 star for, in my opinion, a poor soundtrack.
the gore was really interesting to say the least, but overallthe gore was good… the acting was superb… the clown was insane and did not know when to stop slashing dead bodies… to me that says masterpiece!
Stupid as all hell and loved every minute!
The movie is about a man who, wearing the mascot costume of a fictional fast food chain, goes around offing people with a big, overstylized meat cleaver. The movie itself was decent; some of the kills were really creative, but the CGI got a little sloppy at points, and when you start the movie off with a bunch of painfully annoying wiggers who are bigger clowns than the clown-themed mascot, your expectations just plummet… not to say they don’t pick up again once the movie actually gets started.
“Do you wanna die fat ass?!”
Great. Pure and simple. You don’t come across slashers like this anymore. It’s like Freddy meets Ronald McDonald.
Detective Crackers is hilarious also. “Chase is such a bitch. I’d do her though.”
i thought it was pretty funny, but what can i say? i liked it.
I really liked this movie,I’m so glad I got to watch it on FEARnet before they cancelled it
.
One of my favorites. I loved everything about it, the acting, the story.. Horny The Clown is awesome.. He uses a meat cleaver which is pretty cool.
Well, the only reason why I ever saw this movie was because it caught my interest by the name of the clown: Horny the Clown. It had an interesting plot and the face on the DVD cover reminded me of S.I.C.K., and because of the experience I had with that movie, I was about to stay away from this film. Well I didn’t. However, sadly enough, this movie was better than S.I.C.K. for all the wrong reasons. It essentially tells of the tale of a madman who is brutally killing young teenagers while dressed as Horny the Clown. The catch is: this madman may not be human and his revenge spreads farther than just the teens that he is stalking. First off, the acting was really bad in this movie, the scares were not there and they were childish, it was really funny and the plot was so predictable. The main thing that bugged me was that it had nothing to do with a drive-thru.
Let’s get started. The acting. There was some good acting but other than that, the acting was really bad. Even at some of the most horrible scenes, where the dialogue had an exception of being bad, the dialogue and the acting was just plain bad. Not only where some of the performances pretty bad, the dialogue seemed so scripted and unnatural. Even movies of this caliber, despite there bad plot and really cheesy scares, usually have some pretty descent acting, however, this movie was horrible. They just seemed to not care about emotions or driving forces and were there just to be there. It was very wooden.
What about the scares? First off, there was no real scares, and the when there were “hauntings,” they were horrible. It’s not scary when somebody gets there head microwaved, or deep fried, it’s really quite funny and stupid. Killing somebody in a child’s play pen isn’t scary, it’s just plain stupid. I will give credit to the costume designer for attempting a reasonable outfit for the killer clown, because it was kind of cool and had its weird looking gadgets (i.e. the “flame” butcher knife). Some of the scares were so cliché and very predictable, like you know who was going to die and the “jump out factor” was next to nothing when it came to surprises. There was some blood and gore, but it was wasn’t anything to be grossed out about. Because it was accompanied by bad scares and really awful clichés, the gore had absolutely no real effect on me and just looked like red jam slathered on the walls or floor.
As for the plot, well, like I said, it really did not have anything to do with an actual drive-thru and should have better off named “Restaurant” or “Horny the Clown.” The plot could have been way better and should have just stayed a psychopathic killer hunting down beautiful girls with a predictable or semi-predictable twist, rather than something stupid and supernatural. The plot has some holes in it and evolves random visitations and a completely irrelevant Ouija board that says something that could have been told in a scarier manner. Plus, I never thought that I would see another movie where it was so predictable down to the point where I knew who was going to die, based on the music and the quiet and eerie silence. It was just an altogether thing liquidly plot.
Overall, this was hardly a horror movie, however, if it was labeled comedy, then I would have a completely different review. There were a lot of funny parts and most of them were very unintentional. This movie just has really bad acting, no real scares and a stale plot with predictable endings to add to it. To me, it was a half-baked idea that could have had a good chance of being something else, but they peppered it with clichés and, what looks like, a last minute casting call. I would recommend this movie to anybody who does enjoy B-movies, as well as college height movies, however, for those who enjoy a thicker palette, then you may want to avoid this movie. Though, you may want to rent if it you are looking for a good cheese filled laugh. I, on the other hand, did not enjoy it and that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Pretty damn entertaining NOES inspired slasher. Cool kills, and a pretty funny one-liner spewing killer make this one worth checkin out.
i thought it was a fun movie
Eh, I’m not really one for clown movies, but it’s probably the best one I’ve seen. Actually kept my attention “thru” the whole movie. There were some inconsistencies through out the movie which were irritating. But over all a decent movie. Liked the theme song ;p
The movie has the next generation feel to it and does it in a fun way. The acting was good, gore was done well, and todays teen culture was all over this movie. The up tempo killer was a great touch from his costume, mask, voice, and meat cleaver. I just think this was a really fun movie to watch, if you have an open mind and can except it for what it is I suggest you watch this movie.
I agree with most other reviews. This is a fun teenage horror movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Also, don’t let the fact that it is a Lionsgate project dissuade you. It is much better than their usual crap.
Highly amusing fun-slasher that takes itself not too seriously. The story is pretty stupid and full of plot holes, but that’s not important here. It’s all about ‘Horny, the clown’ who works at the fast food restaurant ‘Hella-Burger’ and loves to slaughter off teenagers. I know how that sounds, but actually it is really great: the killer clown looks breathtakingly awesome and knows how to kill. There’s some nice tension and atmosphere, a bunch of ok actors, a cool soundtrack and some funny dialogue.
I highly recommend this flick!
I am deathly afraid of clowns and yet I love this movie. It is just a fun slasher that isn’t meant to be taken too seriously.
This simply put, was trash.
A smartass Jack-in-the-Boxish killer in a Ghost Rider suit out to take some revenge on the paying customers–lol. A tongue in cheek slasher with a few crappy effects, a handful of fun kills and thrills, and some actual funny ass one-liners from “Horny the Clown”. The double-timed speed of Horny’s kills with the ever present punk metal playing in the background is also a fun touch. Not a good movie by any means, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t enjoy it and look forward to watching it again.
I have been putting off seeing this movie as it sound a bit poor but I am clad that I decided too check IT out as I do enjoy slasher movies like this.
I really enjoyed watching this movie very much, I really like the killer Clown mask that was really creepy and bit scary However the killer voice did sound a lot like Ghost-face from scream series.
I also liked some of the gory death scenes in this movie and they did make some of the deaths scenes really funny at same time and acting is okay for a movie like this.
This movie is a lot of fun to watch with friends if you are staying in on a Saturday night.
A really enjoyable modern slasher that super sizes on the kills and will certainly entertain!
A above average slasher that is defiantly watchable despite an obnoxious killer, the generous amount of gore helps too. Worth a rent, just don’t expect to much out of it.
Clowns scare the everliving crap out of me, which is exactly why I adore horror movies with clowns in them. And while this was an okay movie, with plenty of gore and creative kills (though sometimes beyond ludicrous… the microwave? Really?), it lacked something. It was not at all original and came off as a ripoff of A Nightmare on Elm Street with a killer clown in it. But! Blood! An axe! Fire! Not a complete waste of time, though it could have been soooo much better.
Drive-Thru is one of the greatest Direct to DVD movies that mainly beat the previous Direct to DVD movie Captivity. Drive-Thru is a simple yet a fun slasher flick that is full of thrills, scares, tension, suspense and inventive gore effects that are really neat and tight plus the film is also full of hilarious dialogues from Horny The Clown who is the serial killer in the film and the guy who plays Detective Crockers plus the cashier guy is even funny in the film. I seriously enjoyed this movie so far and it is really nice as well. What’s great about Drive Thru is that the film has lots of good themes and tones that are used well in the film. This movie is like an 80′s slasher film that shares similarities to various slasher films like Friday The 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street because the film has lots of similar themes from those movies that are used in this movie and this movie is like a Friday The 13th in the restaurant. What I personally like about this film is that the movie has so many hilarious dialogues that made me laugh a lot the scene where Horny The Clown threatens the gangsters in the opening scene by saying various insults and bad language in the intercom seriously makes me laugh and it is hilarious so far and it makes the film look good. What I also like about Drive-Thru is that the killer Horny The Clown is really nice and he looks scary in the film plus his dialogue is really funny in the movie so far and it really fits well for the movie so far. What I also like about Drive Thru is that the film also has a really nice dark atmosphere that fits well along with the scares and tension in the movie. I also enjoy the gore effects used in the film and all of the gore effects are really tight and neat and they are well used in the film so far and all of the kills are really graphic as well in the movie. The scene where Horny kills his first victim by placing his head on the deep fryer where they cook the french fries is really graphic and disturbing. The scene where he kills one guy by cutting his body in half with his big butcher knife is really good and it is well executed in the movie so far. While the rest of the kills are really good as well the scene where the two guys in the play space gets killed by Horny The Clown is really well executed and really shot tight in a nicer way so far. The acting in this movie is really good. All the casts did a good job with their performances in the film so far. The beautiful and gorgeous Leighton Meester seriously did a good job with her performance in the movie as the main lead Mackenzie Carpenter while Final Destination 5 star Nicholas D’ Agosto did a good job with his performance in his first Horror film before he played the lead role in Final Destination 5 so far and he seriously did a good job with his performance so far. Directors Brandon Cowles and Shane Kuhn seriously did a good job with their directing with this movie and they seriously did a punch in the gut with this movie and they both did a good job with their directing so far. I would rather say that this movie is better than Roland Joffe’s Captivity. Overall this movie gets a 10/10. I heard that there’s gonna be a sequel to this movie and I can’t wait for it.
