I honestly wished I would have been able to select a 0 of 10 on this one. The movie started off weak and ended worse. The only pro I got out of this movie was some sweet killings on the children.

Not too shabby, can’t hold a candle to the original but worth a watch. The wife in this movie is about as irritating as you can get. In reality with her attitude she should have been dead in the cornfield WAY before the children even came out;) Pretty tough to rate this movie due to the great movie it’s trying to remake. Decent addition to the series, much better than other CoftheC that I’ve seen.

I have not yet seen the original. But this film was absolutely groovey. You start a movie with with a interracial married couple played by David Anders and Kandyse McClure driving across America. They are misserable, at each others throats, threateni…ng each other with divorce and talking about how much happier they would be with out one another. Their planing for the future are put on hold when they run down a child. Seeking help they drive into a small town to confess their car accident, only to find that the town is presumabley abandoned. But unfortunately for them they are not alone They are being stalked by a flock of kids, a cult who will murder them in a New York minute for they are old and do not carry the same values as them. They beleave that in sacrafice of life will they enjoy gods profits. This is a violently intense movie were kids are and adults are both lambs for slauter. Watch the adults fight for their lives against the Children Of The Corn

The first half of the movie was the couple fighting over every little thing. The second half was worse.

Watching this movie was about as fun as running naked backwards through a corn field.

It is terrible, and not nearly as good as the classic original. The acting is atrocious, and the few changes from the original plot are amateurish and silly.

The couple in the remake is absolutely annoying and only outdone by an incredibly long scene where the man is running through a corn field and having flash backs to Nam. Not kidding. He is mistaking the children of the corn for Viet Cong.

It is depressing that in every recent movie set in the 70s there has to be at least one vanilla character who is an emotically scarred Vietnam vet.

Anyway, remakes are usually not as good as the original but this one takes it to a whole new level. Wow.

An awful film that actually starts out… oh, wait. It started off poorly. But even so, it manages to devolve throughout the film before a truly awful final twenty minutes and a confusing ending.

I actually enjoyed the first half of it.Although the wifes nagging got on my nerves. But then after one of thems death it just got drawn out and stupid! it was like two different movies. It just simply fell apart after that.No other way to put it.But to me none of the COTC films are great not even the first, but I get that its kinda a classic.

Holy I wish the wife would have shut up, every time she talked. Rage. Wasn’t an even slightly acceptable remake.

This is less a remake of the original Children of the Corn, and more just another entry in the same mythology that has fueled countless sequels with the name Children of the Corn.

A husband and wife strike a child by accident on the interstate. When they drive the body into the nearby town of Gatlin, that is when things begin to become darker. The couple are soon set upon by a mob of religious children and the violence and darkness spread on.

This film has taken two of the least like-able characters I can imagine, given them lackluster performances, slapped on some drivel about Vietnam War PTSD and then to add to the fun, tries to remake the whole Children of the Corn movie.

While the characters of Isaac the preacher and Malachi, the ginger murder fiend have returned, nearly every other facet of this film is just phoned in. The kids in this movie make the ones seen in the Offspring look like top notch special effects and costumes. Isaac is not longer portrayed by a tiny, creepy evil child, but more by a kid who looks like he snuck into his Dad’s dresser and took his Sunday clothes.

Despite a few scenes of decent violence and gore, the entire movie felt more like it could have fit into one episode of Masters of Horror. I hope that not only was I one of the few to buy this movie, but also one of the few who saw it, period. I cannot in good conscience recommend this film to anybody, even for a rental.

I just want to know why there was a cutoff??? This movie was moving in the right direction, but for some reason they cut it right when Mr. army man should have started on a child killing spree…

I saw this online and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Total raping of a classic 80s film.

Lousy made-for-TV remake of a lame adaptation. The only good thing about it is that it’s extremely true to King’s short story. Apart from that it’s incredibly boring with no atmosphere or tension, annoying acting and lengthy dialogue.

I can’t understand why people are so dedicated to the original. I read the short story, watched the 84 version and then the 2009 version. And not only was the remake more true to the original story, it was a better movie than the 84 version. Has anyone actually watched the ’84?? It’s a terrible movie!! I mean really, does everyone feel the need to stay loyal to it purely because it came first?… I hate most remakes. Friday remake was terrible, the nightmare remake was awful, and wickerman was atrocious. But I hated them because the originals were actually better as films. The remake is not amazing by any means, but it was definitely a step up.

Dull, boring and no suspense. It follows the book, which wasn’t very good to start off with. I found the whole experience mind numbing.

Nothing all to great here, I was waiting for then to remake children of the corn but not like this, this is just a poor movie but not the worst from the corn series. I just hope this isn’t all we get for a remake because the story line for children of the corn is a good one and i think alot can be done with it. It moves slow and drags but theres a few entertaining parts i guess… i cant think of anything off the top of my head but then again i haven’t watched it since it first came out. I’d say its worth atleast a one time watch if your a fan of the series otherwise you’ll probably turn it off before its over. Over all i guess ill give it a 2

The new Children of the Corn remake seriously has problems and it falls short and it is not a good remake of the 1984 movie. Seriously this movie has lots of problems and faults from start to finish. I really didn’t like this remake of the original 1984 classic and it really didn’t make sense at all. This is also possibly one of the worse remakes ever since The Hitcher remake. What I only like about the new Children of the Corn movie is that the plot of the film is more faithful and true to Stephen King’s short story than the 1984 version because the 1984 version has several things from the book but the rest were not in the novel here in the 2009 Syfy remake the movie has everything from the novel it follows the book a bit more than the original movie and that is one of the things I like about the new Children of the Corn remake. Now the main problem and the bad things about this movie is that the film has lots of dull and lengthy dialogue and the dialogue is too predictable and the other problems with this movie is that the film has zero suspense, scares, tension and there’s no atmosphere because the original 1984 classic has a really dark atmosphere which makes the 1984 version a better movie than this Syfy remake here in the 2009 remake the atmosphere has been removed, there are no scares and tension even suspense as well plus the other problem with this movie is that the acting is super horrid the lead actress who plays Vicki in the movie seriously ruined and spoiled the entire movie Kandyse McClure seriously ruined the film and she seriously overacted in the film from the start she was beginning to overact until in the next scenes she even ruins the entire film more and her performance was so horrible plus the two antagonists in the film are not scary at all in the original the children even the two antagonists were menacing and super scary but here in the Syfy remake the two antagonists doesn’t look scary at all because Malachai in the remake looks more of an adult than a menacing scary teenager and Isaac looks more of a spoiled little bratty cat than a creepy and scary looking kid like in the original he was scary and creepy but in this film he looks like a spoiled bratty cat than a scary and creepy kid and the only actor who did a good job in the movie is the lead actor who plays Burt he was way better than the two antagonists even the lead actress who seriously spoiled and ruined the entire film due to her overacting performance which I seriously hated and I didn’t like at all and other than that the kids in this movie are not scary or creepy like in the 1984 movie here in the remake they look more like homeless children seeking revenge on adults for not giving them money which is even worse than the performances of the casts. This film seriously didn’t make sense at all there’s zero suspense in the movie even zero tension as well and there is no atmosphere in the movie at all which really makes this movie falls short and the only thing I like about this movie is that the film is more faithful to the novel than the 1984 film. The other thing I like about this movie is that the film has some incredible gore effects which I enjoyed watching in the movie I did like all of the gore effects in this movie here we get to see lots of incredible gore effects like the pig in the opening scene getting slaughtered by the children by stabbing it with a knife to the throat and the blood comes out and I also like the other scene where we see Vicki’s dead body with her eyes stabbed by the plants which I really wanted to see in the movie and all the effects were so good Robert Kurtzman seriously did a good job with the effects in the film plus I also like the scene where Burt breaks a kids arm and punches him in the face I did like that scene because the way the effects were handled in this movie were seriously nice so far and I also like the scene where Burt kills a little boy and you can see his blood coming out of his throat and all the effects in the film were really good so far thanks to Robert Kurtzman he seriously knows how to handle special effects so far. Director Donald P. Borchers seriously didn’t do a good job with his directing in the movie so far he would have added some suspense and tension in the film not only following the story through Stephen King’s short story so far. Overall the new Children of the Corn gets a 2/10.

The Ultimate Movie Review! – http://tss5078.blogspot.com – @tss5078 – I’ve liked Stephen King’s Children of The Corn series since I was a kid and I was very interested when I heard that they were remaking them. The new version is different, but that’s not always a good thing. It’s definitely a lot more gory and frightening, which is a good thing, but they cut a lot out of the story which was a bad thing. We aren’t given any background information, characters are missing, and Isaac is so little and cute, that he isn’t believable. On top of that, instead of a loving middle aged couple, we get a fighting interracial couple, in 1975, that features a Marine with PTSD and a prom queen who won’t shut the fuck up! I’m glad it was a little creepier and bloodier than the original, but they cut out some of the best parts and give absolutely no background information. I felt like I was jumping into a movie after missing the first half hour, besides that, the acting was so-so, and overall the film was okay at best. In my opinion this film does not live up to the original and would have trouble rivaling some of the sequels as well.
