I like this movie, it was what it was. If it was ment to be a blockbuster it would have been sent to the theaters, but it is direct to dvd and it wss good. I do agree that the two Coryes should have been in it more.

id have to say that the movie overall was pretty freakin good. autumn reeser was f***in hot as hell as a vampire and not as one. i thought the ending battle was going to be longer. the movie was a typical sequal of an origanal that was made 21 years ago……….simply not as good. but like i said the movie over all was good and had my attention all the way through.

i went out and bought this movie the day after it came out, watched it, at times i was pleased (not impressed), and at times i was like wtf?, this movie is OK just lacking that gothic esque artist feel that its predecessor so renoundly had, it felt “rushed” like everything was happening so fast and then……”the end” not soo wonderful if you ask me, evenstill it wasnt bad, im not going to write a full review that was already done, just make some notations and critique like we all do whenever a sequel or a remake comes along, lets Talk Angus, half brother of Keifer( the f***ing man!) i like that they had him in the film, but the second he started to talk i was shocked and it kind of ruined his role he sounded like he had a mouth full of peanut butter or like he was on percocets the whole movie, he is a new breed of an actor so i will cut him some slack, but the next movie pal “all bets are off”, Corey, Corey, Corey Feldman, (a big icon to me and many others) reprising his role as Edgar Frog, typical antics of the character still remain, but with the time that has gone by the essence hgas faded a little but over all very warming to see his face, Corey Haim and his cameo (only found in the special features under alternate endings)i was again happy to see the two Coreys in a movie toghether the “dynamic duo” and i liked that Edgar’s brother was comming to get some revenge, overall i give it a 6 out of 10 for the effort, next time if there is a next time call me to make it, holywood needs people like us to take a crack at the industry, “SO GO SEE THE MOVIE ALREADY AND STOP READING THE JUNK PEOPLE TALK, MAKE THAT ASSUMPTION ON YOUR OWN LIKE YOU SHOULD” Stay metal people- metalmessiah007

And so yet again we make un-necassary movies. Now I’m not saying that a sequel to the Lost Boys couldn’t have been good. Had they focused more on the original characters and what happens to them and their continuing struggles to whipe the vampire scourge from Luna Bay. But, this is not that movie. I downloaded this movie because I’ve seen what sequels can do to franchises. One as big as The Lost Boys is one i wasn’t taking chances on. I’m glad I downloaded it because the disappointment i saw coming turned out to be correct. A brother and sister move to sunny Luna Bay into a beat up shack of an apartment and attempt to fit in with the locals. The main male character in the movie is a former Surfing champion who has since retired. The two are invited to a party with you guessed it vampires! From there the movie falls apart. The cheesy dialouge and vampires you probabaly would laugh at in person take the movie for a tailspin. The salvage of the movie is Corey Feldman. I personally think he deserved a bigger role than he had. When Feldman is on screen it usually made me laugh due to his over dramtic one-liners. There looks to be another one coming out thanks to the ending scene but who knows really. As a Lost Boys movie The Tribe falls flat, as a vampire movie it’s laughable. If your really into vampires or corey feldman watch it and come to your own conclusion. If you are looking for a true Lost Boys sequel i would avoid this like the plague.

The Lost Boys is my favorite movie of all time and this movie really disappointed me. I don’t even want to consider it to be a sequel because it in no way compares to the original. There could have been so much more effort in this movie, especially with it being 21 years since the first one came out. I really thought this movie was going to be good, but it proved me wrong. I’m hoping that some time in the future, Joel Schumacher will make a solid sequel, but that’s just me hoping.

Ok on the BD review of this movie…you must not have watched the first film, because your apparent disgust about how they “change the rules” is a direct carry over from the first movie…including the speech that Frog gives.

Second, research some info on the movie…Corey Haim was suppose to be in the movie a lot more than the few seconds he had, but his “personal” problems made him unable to spit out any lines given to him, so they wrote him out of the movie. One of the many reasons that things were under lock and key.

Granted the movie did have some “cheap” qualities, but the obscure/down right bad music, was once again a carry over from the first film. The fact that Kiefer’s half brother played the main vamp was a great tribute to the old film.

This movie does have some down sides…several of them that are miserable to sit through, but in this time where the creativity in horror writing has been flushed and we are wading through the re-make sewage that the money hungry schlubs at the major film studios keep pouring into theaters, this is not that bad of a movie.

I really wanted to like this movie but i can’t it sucks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. you want a good reason lets see, reasons it sucks…..
    Action
    special effects
acting (feldman really does suck as an actor)
    story
    lighting
    directing
    you get the picture.
Do yourself a favor have your teeth removed with a spoon It’ll be more fun.

This maybe the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. The head vampire is such a lame! he looks like the guy from nickelback and talks like David Blaine. What a jackass! And Corey Feldman, dude give it up you suck. How funny was crackhead Corey Haim at the end. I can’t help but think that Uwe Boll had a hand in this. If this is the kind of sequels that the studios are gonna give us, I wish they would just keep makin shitty remakes. I wish I could give this a zero

If you take yourself out of the moment and try to disassociate this as a Lost Boys sequel it’s actually an alright 90 minute time waster. It really isnt that bad but that doesnt say much. It at least tries in some way to connect itself to the original but blatantly becomes the same story all over again without the atmosphere and storytelling of the original and also missing the originals cheesy heavily late 80′s dating. I was pretty much reluctant to pick it up and was even the most vocal about it’s release simply because the original holds the distinction of being the first horror movie I ever saw. Is it a great movie? Fuck no!..is it even worthy of being called a Lost Boys film? Not even..but shit when you got a case of beer and some friends it at least had some degree to fun..if only a little

i thought this movie rocked…for the most part. Corey feldman has the same excact lines as in the first one. its hilarious. i loved the one-liners. but it does suck as a sequel. It’s more like a spinoff of the original. The next one needs to have the frog brothers kickin corey haims ass or something along the lines of that to make up for this movie…

What a surprise, Lost Boys 2 wasn’t great! If it wasn’t a sequel to Lost Boys it wouldn’t seem nearly as bad. Entertaining enough for a netflix rental. A little more gore than the original, plus a really hot naked chick.

I absolutley luv Corey Feldman his my favourite actor, he looks fantastic 4 his age I love him so much, I’m sooo happy to see that his made a return and Edgar Frog was my fave character in the original Lost Boys and still is in this film.

Lost boys: The tribe is seriously the worst movie I have ever seen. Sex, gore, and terror. So why didn’t I like it. The gore was so fake that a 3 year old could make better CGI than this crap. There was no terror, suspense, or scares at all. The acting was so dreadful I laughed at how bad it was. Every 5 minutes a character has sex and just dies in a bad (seriously it sucks) way. There was no need for all this profanity. Every minute all I heard was an f bomb. Wether you are a fan of the first one or not this film is so bad I wonder why it even came out on DVD. If someone gave this to me for free I would still refuse to take it. Overall Lost boys: The tribe was so bad I turned it off after the first 20 minutes. Even Date movie, Epic movie, and Meet the Spartans was better than this crap. And that’s saying a lot!

Flailing piece of dogshit. I have an idea: let’s wait 20 years to make a sequel to one of the best vampire movies ever made… and re-hash the same plot with inferior actors, writers, directors, effects. Corey Feldman does an impersonation of his famous character. Shameless.

At the risk of being crucified, I will state that I actually enjoyed this movie. Yeah, it’s lame and yeah, it’s just a rehash of the original with snazzier effects and hipper/sexier characters, but I was still entertained.

Primarily due to Feldman’s role; it was way cheesier than his character from the first film, but it reminded me the sort of over the top cheeseball heroes from the eighties (ie: Bruce Campbell). With great lines such as “your sister’s a suck monkey” and “who ordered the stake?” I found myself in more of a Bad Taste/Bride of Chucky sort of frame of mind. Which makes the film much more tolerable.

Tom Savini’s cameo was rad, if not a bit awkward. Speaking of which, the effects are pretty top notch (excluding the CGI oriented deaths) for a direct to video release.

The ending is the only really crap part. It’s over before you now; so anti-climactic, but sitting through the credits makes it worth it. Stoked for the third.

Jesus Christ, where to begin with this travesty ? Firstly, this has NOTHING to do with The Lost Boys, nothing whatsoever except the character of Edgar Frog, who isn’t really in it that much. Everything about this movie is downright atrocious. The acting is absolutely woeful, including Feldman who over acts and feels the need to shout every line of dialouge, which in some scenes is lifted from the first movie, line for line ! Is the script writer that useless ?
The blood and gore is excessive and pointless and can’t make up for the lack of a decent script and direction. Everybody involved in this disaster should hang their heads in shame. And the worst part that will have Lost Boys purists howling for blood, the lamest cover version and the inclusion of the song ‘Cry Little Sister’. Just fucking terrible. Avoid like the plauge.

If the original did not exist………………..
Unfortunately it does and because of that I think this movie suffers. Granted, there is a distinct lack of originality to the plot, however, in an alternate universe where LOST BOYS had never existed and with a little more playing out the story this could have become a good, not a great, but a good movie.
    Unfortunately, it is not !
However, some of the soundtrack is very cool!!!

ok it’s not great i’m not even going to pretend it is, but it was a bit of stupid fun. I agree with the fact this isn’t a lost boys film, corey feldman need not of been in the film at all, and his performance just irritated me, the biggest problem is angus sutherland just the worst performance ever, he was onl cast because of his last name.

yea it’s not the greatest film in the world. the acting is just okay, the new vampires are kinda lame(especially the main guy, who has the most annoying voice i think i’ve ever heard) and the plot is basically a remake of the first film. but, this could’ve been a lot worse, like that piece of shit wrong turn 3 for instance. i’m just glad corey feldman came back. in fact, i’m pretty sure if he didn’t, this would’ve been called something else, because it doesn’t continue the story of the first or really have anything to do with it for that matter. overall, a decent rental or worth one viewing. it isn’t THAT terrible, just a bad/disappointing sequel to one of the greatest teen horror flicks of all time

  41. Avatar of maynardmorrissey
Posted By maynardmorrissey on May 14, 2011 @ 2:41 pm

Most fans of the first part totally hate this 20-years-later sequel and I pretty much understand why: “The Tribe” is a low-budget direct-to-DVD rehash, unoriginal, quite unnecessary and it never comes close to the genius of the original.
Nevertheless, I surprisingly enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

Yeah, story and script are lame, the look of the whole movie is cheap (unspectacular camera work, boring-looking settings), the soundtrack is mediocre, many of the CGI effects look awful and there are just too many bland and superfluous characters.

Yet, there are few reasons why this is still watchable:
    * Corey Feldman – as cool and amusing as always, including lots of nice one-liners (“Who ordered the stake?” / “Your sister’s a suck-monkey.” / “What are you drinking man?” – “Frog juice. Garlic, holy water and raw eggs.”)
    * A few more cool performances from Tad Hilgenbrink, Angus Sutherland (Kiefer’s half-brother) and Tom Savini!
    * A shitload of gory and brutal kills.
    * Most of the time it’s quite tense and entertaining.
    * Many great-looking vampires.
    * Lots of gorgeous nudity.

Try to ignore the original as good as it gets, and you end up with a nice little b-flick that perfectly passes the time.

This should have just been a regular vampire movie. It never should have been called The Lost Boys with how it played out. It really only had Feldman really going for it and he wasnâe(TM)t even a huge part of the film.

As far as a âeoeLost Boysâe film, it gets 2 stars from me. Its not a bad awful horrible movie, just as a sequel it fails. But I gotta give Corey Feldman some credit for reprising his role and making the movie a little better to enjoy, and for that Iâe(TM)m giving it an extra star.
