Very stupid, but no where stupid as Lake Dead.
I thought this was a great creature movie with decent effects and story. The gore was good and the acting wasnt that bad either. I thought the creature was badass looking too.
almost as bad as lake dead.
alright
I fell asleep watching this.
Formulated creature film, but then I like creature films.
CGI can be good or it can ruin an entire movie, I never felt once i was scared of this creature, just because you make and have abilities to create cgi effects doesnt mean they will turn out well, as this movie should be a living example in why low budget horror films should just stick to creating actual creatures like “Feast”
F**^&&^&&& THIS S%$%$$%
The special effects were the worst part of the film, making this the worst movie at Horrorfest 2007 after Lake Dead (except that Lake Dead DID have an amazing sex scene…)
The absolute worst CGI I’ve seen in a horrorfest film. Period. This movie seems like Sci-fi daytime material. Don’t waste your time or money on this.
This film was just a piece of sh!t. the creatures were stupid and the special effects were just horrible. I should have ranked this film to the worst horrorfest movie.
forgettable cg as all hell monster it blew.
either this or nightmare man was the worst movie of this years batch, damn this sucked dog dick.
This movie is ALMOST cool… sometimes. I even thought the weird Alien rip off thing was kinda cool BUT it was usually seen in shitty CGI form, which is almost as ugly looking as the new CG Pumpkinhead.
Overall, I wanted to like it. These Horrorfest movies really need to start getting better or us horror aficionados are just going to give up.
This movie is simply shocking there is no other way to describe it. The script is proberly one of the worst scripts since i saw Eric Movie. Its just constant cliches and headscratching moments where you end up thinking “no way it can be this bad”.
The story is simple and started off okay with a monster secretly reeking havoc on a small town without most of the population knowing about it. It is these sequences that are actually not bad as the monster is hidden mostly from view and the deaths happen off screen. It is only about 20 minites in that everything kinda goes downhill. As soon as we see the monster, for me everything is completely and utterly ruined, the CGI is so bad it is not even describeable in this blog it has to be seen to be believed. This completely took me out of the movie and removed all further interest for me. Emmanuel Vaugiers performance is so bad aswell, its just so hard to really believe her as some kinda town drunk, i dont think its totally her fault though i just think she was simply mis cast for me.
My recommendation, stay well clear.
not bad but could of been a lot better. its worth a watch.
this movie was not completely terrible, but i can also so that there was no reedeming factor about this movie…
I agree with Grudge. Its not the worst I’ve seen (theres nothing WRONG with it) but it really does not have any redeeming qualities what so ever to make it worth watching.
I could barely keep myself awake for this movie. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and is not entertaining at all. Save yourself the time!
Imagine a blend of “Specters”, “Growth”, “Tremors” and “Alien” – that’s “Unearthed”, an ok little creature feature. No more, no less.
What’s good:
It’s full of really tense and thrilling scenes. There’s some great-looking gore, the monsters are all gorgeously designed and nearly all of the settings look quite cool.
What’s mediocre:
A few nice but quite lackluster characters. The acting is so-so.
What’s bad:
It’s packed with terribly cheap-looking CGI effects, the dialogue is largely rather stupid, the plot is full of vast holes and there are way too many boring scenes in the middle.
