Otis was a fun and creative movie.It’s unique style reminded me if Quentin Tarantino did a revenge-themed episode of Married With Chidren.Confused?Each of the Family members in the film are comparable to the dysfunctional and idiosyncratic ways of The Bundys, Except that Illeana Douglas (unlike Peggy Bundy) shines as the perceived meek and mild June Cleaver-esque matriarch who instantly goes Amy Fisher-vengeful-vixen on “Otis’” ass.Love her bug-eyed, quirky expressions and her recipe for a smoothie.Ashley Johnson, the “damsel in distress” sure has come a long way from her cutesy-curly top days of the youngest daughter in the Seaver clan on “Growing Pains.” What a naughty girl!As for Otis, he was the most likable sexually repressed, bi polar,socio- and psychopathic villain in a long time. Watch this movie!
I had the pleasure to meet Bostin Christopher at the Valdez, Alaska theatre conference. His from Alaska, you know…anyway, we talked some about the movie and his time filming with such a great cast. He was very excited about the film and what it could mean to his career.
After watching the movie I have to say that this is a HUGE step for him and he played such a menacing and yet, a very humble character. The way he interacted with Reily and the parents when he would call them was funny and really opened up the type of person Otis was. Especially when his brother showed up on the scene. He idolized his brother but his brother treated him like crap. It was sort of sad.
Overall I loved this movie. It was very funny and at times creepy but a fun ride overall. I highly recommend this movie to others. I’m glad to know Bostin and call him a friend. I can’t wait to see what else he does in the future.
Great great movie, extremely original and mostly hilarious. Too bad that one guy rated it a 1 by accident cause he’s dragging down the user rating. This should be seen by any horror fan since it offers up such a different skew on the abduction/torture type movies there’s been so much of lately. The only thing that fucked with me was the very ending. It’s like the movie took a shit and died out of nowhere. Maybe I’m not grasping that much of it, but everything else is great. Glad to see Daniel Stern still getting good roles. If any of you have had the displeasure of seeing the director’s other, much less entertaining, film Sublime, watch for an extremely brief cameo by that film’s only highlight, the insane African orderly Mandingo.
Now go see this. You’ll laugh your ass off.
I loved this movie. i felt kinda sorry for otis at the end though… he’s so vulnerable, but at the same time…. the opposite. i deffinatley reccomend this movie for anyone. it is interusting and keeps you watching. another good movie for Raw Feed. (I personally loved rest stop, although some people didn’t) and whoever played otis(i dunno his name) is really good. he had a few different emotions going on at the same time.
This movie was hilarious… More of a dark comedy than horror but I loved it all the same.
I enjoyed this movie very much. It had a nice blend of horror and comedy. Otis plays the role of a half retarded and lonely predator very well. It is one of the most original movies I’ve seen in a while.
Thought it was definately one of the best “Raw Feed” movie i’ve seen. Definately worth a buy.
Otis himself was a little disturbing…. The plot was done well but there were some parts that just didn’t make complete sense. For instance the detective on the case was made to be funny but really never made sense to have him funny in the situation they were in. Overall a decent movie
Leans more towards a comedy than horror, but definatly has both in place, I was expecting this movie to be really bad, but overall i was actually surprised at how much i was liking it, the best part of the film is the revenge of the parents, situations that become morbid, accidental and unfixable, definatly glad i watched it, but it’s nothing of a 10 rating calliber, i felt the police detective guy was very annoying and should have been portrayed by someone else, and the guy that played otis did fairly well for what little dialogue he is given.

It wasn’t a bad movie, it was just a lame movie. It wasn’t very effective or that funny for the ending.

As pizza delivery guy Otis Broth(Bostin Christopher) accidentally kills his abducted/kidnapped/pretend girlfriend Kim he decides to set out to find a new one.As Riley(Ashley Johnson) leaves her semi-normal suburban home Otis kidnaps her and makes her his new abducted/kidnapped/pretend girlfriend and also insists on calling her Kim.
As Otis and Riley’s relationship grows(handcuffs,chains and all) Riley has to play along with Otis’s pretend games of football,prom and fake dates to keep from being beaten and burned or worse.As her parents(played by Daniel Stern and Illeana Douglas) slowly track their daughter down with the help of Agent Hotchkiss(Jere Burns).We find Otis is also dealing with an abusive brother Elmo(Kevin Pollak) who beats on an mentally abuses Otis.So we see where Otis is getting some of this craziness from,kind of.
As Riley escapes and reunites with her family her mom starts planning revenge.Her family takes the law in their own hands(so to speak).As Riley’s family waits on Otis to show up at his house his brother gets there first but never has a chance to tell them he’s not Otis.As the family dances a funny ballet with a shovel,baseball bat and a butcher knife with Elmo they turn the table and start dreaming up ways of payback.They put Elmo through hell still not knowing he’s not Otis!
As Agent Hotchkiss interogates poor Riley she starts giving him the information he needs and he calls the family and they find out they’ve got the wrong guy!Uh oh!The comedy in the disposal of Elmo is priceless!As Otis arrives home to a disaster area he starts pacing and getting more dillusional than ever.Agent Hotchkiss lets the family know that he knows what they did,”he has audio in Dolby Surround”he says.Hotchkiss never finds out it’s Elmo.As Riley and her brother order “pizza” and wait on “the pizza delivery guy”,the doorbell rings her brother lays shotgun shells into the door,we hear a loud thump,door falls,”is it him”her brother asks.As a body lays on the side walk with the face covered by a bush.So is Otis a goner?Great ending!?I hope there’s a sequel to this fun,campy,gory comedy/horror flick!Great cast!I bet it was fun making this movie!
overall good movie….Otis is a fucked up character, and the movie leans somewhat toward a sequel maybe???? hopefully because that movie is good!!!
There is only one thing I didn’r like about this movie. It is the only movie in the Raw Feed collection where the badguy dies at the end. =/ Well, in the deleted scenes, in the Special Features, the alternate ending has him winning at the end.
A disturbing, sometimes bloody, yet wickidly humorous dark horror/comedy that was somewhat refreshing and original. The acting was decent from all, and it was overall pretty entertaining. My problem with it was the ending which just left you hanging, and it didn’t explain the killer’s motive much, and why did he call all of his victims Kim. Recommended if you want something different.

Good Movie to watch with friends while “Medicated” lots of laughs. The guy who played Otis Did a great job, hope to see him in other movies.
