This movie is really, really really bad. It’s just barely entertaining enough to finish, but by the time you get to the end you will not be satisfied whatsoever with the story telling. It ends on an obscure pointless note, and you’re left to wonder why the fuck you were shown the last hour and a half of film. There is no point or conclusion to this story, but merely a pile of cliches and dudes in fairly weak monster costumes.
This really feels like a 13 Ghosts type of movie, but much less fun. With the majority of boring, derivative movies like this they usually compensate for lack of story telling with some over the top cheese and high amounts of gore. You’ll find neither here as it seems those who made this are taking things very seriously.
Anyways, blah blah blah, not tryin’ to sound naggy but I have very low standards for my horror movies as long as they entertain me and wrap up the story. This one really didn’t do either. Those expecting to be scared will be disappointed, those expecting violence will be disappointed. Those expecting good acting… well I’m sure no one expects that. Except for Goreman from Aliens shows up as the token asshole, so he’s not all that bad. All I can say to it’s credit is that the production values look pretty shnazy. That’s it.
It’s a waste of time. Really.
I kept waiting for this movie to get better and it didn’t . No ofense but this is not my type of horror movie it might be for someone else but this doesn’t have a high recommendation from me
;
entertaining fun, the monster makeup looks great, and while some things don’t get answered most of it wraps up fine to the ending
booooring
It wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be. It was pretty boring though.
Surprisingly eerie and entertaining at the same time, with few moments of a few laughs, the best part of the film is the creatures, not the ghosts, but i found it coool to see such a different mixture of ghosts, creatures, it’s usually one or the other.
good stuff. so far the best of this year’s “ghoust house underground 8 films”
This movie was so cheesy. Red crayon!!!! Haha. But I still liked it.
Not bad. I liked the shift of dimension and time.
not bad not bad . i like this shit
I have to agree with most of these folks… it was terribly acted, especially the little girl, unimaginative, and totally unsuspensful. These characters are completely unrealistic. The only good part was the cinematography. The monsters wear costumes that a heavy metal band could wear on stage and pull off, but for the purpose of scaring the audience these are weak cheesy displays of production
I thought this movie was cool as hell, went in this one not getting my hopes to high just in case, but i have to say in the end it was awesome. Lordi’s make-up was sweet looking and the story was eerie as well…sort-of a film adaptation of a DS game called
Dementium: The Ward. the film had okay acting, and the stories end made no damn sense. other than that worth seeing!!!
very awsome
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Story makes no sense. The first ten minutes were respectful, but after that it goes straight downhill. Plus, it is not scary in the least bit. Also the ending…ridiculous.
I don’t understood why this movie didn’t get a theatrical release, it was an all right movie. there wasn’t that much going on and when there was it was something you didn’t want to miss. Its OK.
Eeehhhh…boring as fuck nuggets….but i do like when the Lordi Demons show up…for like a split second lol…i don’t know…the Makeup saves it a bit.
Some cool creature designs & interesting ideas going on, ultimately though I’m not sure what the hell happened…
An pointless, dull, confusing supernatural/horror movie that is pretty forgettable. The story, characters and killings were all pretty uninteresting. It wasn’t scary or thrilling, it felt like the movie went on and on without going anywhere which felt much longer than 86 minutes. There isn’t anything much about it that I found good, it just had way to many flaws to recommend it, but I’ve seen worse out there so I gave it 2 stars. Overall skip it!
im a huge LORDI fan and i found this movie really confusing like was it a dream or did it happen but all in all i still enjoyedthe movie when ox and that showed up
Well I’ve seen better movies but as Lordi are my favourite band Dark Floors gets a 10
This hospital from hell reminded me of Silent Hill at times and the creature fx were above average.
Not a bad film, not a good one either, it’s good to waste time on though as it will keep your attention and the creatures are nice eye candy for the most part.
A baffling hybrid of the Langoliers and Jacob’s Ladder. I’m unable to score this any higher than a 5 because I’m still not sure what I saw.
A silly, bizarre film. Great atmosphere and not without it’s entertainment value.
Horror films are such delicate things. They must be handled by capable filmmakers, and they must either be entertaining, scary, or beautiful. “Dark Floors”, however, is a horror film in which only one word applies: ugly. Here’s a movie that qualifies as one of the two worst kinds of horror movies, the first being “remake”, and the second being “a horror movie that builds, builds, builds and manages to do absolutely nothing”. Luckily, only the second one really applies.
Guy and his autistic little girl get stuck in a Mental Hospital with some other random people. Everyone else is dead, yet they’re not alone. Guy tries to be hero, and gets pissed whenever someone else, from the group, attempts to steal his torch. Enter supernatural monsters, and I think you’ve got yourself a horror movie. The plot moves along as the director probably thought it should, although it’s all build-up until the climax. The build-up isn’t interesting, and I came very close to turning this thing off. And then I figured, there must be some payoff. Boy, was I wrong.
This film sins by not explaining too much. It’s good when a horror film makes you use your imagination, but you can’t imagine story-telling. I kept asking myself strange questions, one of them being: Why are these reptilian/demon monster-things wearing what looks like a radical “chain”? If you WANT to ask unnecessary questions that will never be answered, then maybe “Dark Floors” is for you. However, it’s fairly insulting to me; as it is not poorly made, necessarily, just poorly written, acted, and conceived. This is what they mean when they say “Direct-to-video” in a very negative sense. No kidding; this is pretty bad. It’s dumb, ugly, and fails to satisfy on any given level. Simply put, not scary, not entertaining, and worst of all; not at all fun. This film has officially sinned as only most modern horror films can.
