Decent… First half hour and last half hour were awesome. The middle 45 minutes dragged and dragged. Thank God it ended with a bang. Some squeamish, invasive gore!! Overall worth a watch
Definitely doesn’t disappoint as far as gore but the film could had cut about 15-20 minutes off and been a lot better! But none the less it was entertaining.Jude Law did great! (It’s itchy as a mother fucker line was hilarious!!!) But if you like sci-fi thrillers of the future you can’t really go wrong its just not my thing, but I still enjoyed it until the terrible ending! HATED IT!
ok. i have not yet seen this movie. nor do i plan on paying to see it. i do plan on seeing it just so i can get my opinion and tell how much they REALLY stole. i am a REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA supporter. therefore i was against this film being released. i joined in on the #repovsrepo Repo revolution. and so sad to see the only 2 reviews have such a positive review! but on the bright side… the film has been out for 5 days and it only has 2 reviews! hahaha. and better yet. it onlymade 6 mill. hhahahha oh i love it. buuuuuut enough said. i will come back after seeing repo men and give you my honest FILM review on it with out my negativity for being a complete rip.
One trip to IMDB would clue you in on a little controversy over the film Repo Men. Despite beginning it’s early writing stages in 2003, people seem to think that it’s a “Rip off” of a film titled “Repo! The Genetic Opera.” Personally, I never got around to seeing that film, so I thought I would write this movie up, to give you a perspective from fresh eyes.
It was hard for me to watch Repo Men, and not think of our current situation here in the states. Despite the sensationalism(ripping someone’s prosthetic organ out in broad daylight.) It wasn’t hard for me to imagine our health care system ending up like the one depicted in the film. It also has some sharp commentary related to our current financial system as well. Is it so hard to conceive that this world is possible, if we continue to let corporate greed dominate our health care system, instead of evolving like the rest of the civilized world did 30 years ago? Is it so hard to believe that, without some financial reform, the trend will continue to purposefully pursue borrowers who could never possibly pay back their debt?
Now, that rant is over, let’s get into the film. Repo Man is set in the not-to-distant future. A future where any body part can be replaced, so long as you have the money to pay. When you don’t, that’s Remy(Jude Law) and Jake(Forest Whitaker) come in. Remy, and Jake are work for the Repo union, collecting organs back from patients who couldn’t make their payments. Though it’s a neat idea, we aren’t treated with much of this in action. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. Most of the story is spent on the concept of the collector, becoming the collected. Liev Schrieber put’s in my absolute favorite performance of his spanning his entire career. He plays the sleazy executive role to the T. “Gimme yer fuckin heart.” he says, in such a matter of fact sort of way, I loved it.
Repo Men is surprisingly brutal, and gory. Most of the gore doesn’t even come from the repossession scenes, but the fight scenes at the end of the movie. At the halfway mark, I wasn’t thrilled with this movie, the third act had me grinner ear to ear. The ending had me worried, but payed off after-all. I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews for this movie, but I feel they were expecting something from the movie that wasn’t promised to begin with. It’s mostly a brutally dark sci-fi/action film, but it does have it’s moments of intelligence. With social commentary that’s underlying, and doesn’t smack the viewer in the face, I can recommend this movie to anyone looking to have a good time.

okay first off, i am a HUGE fan of REPO! The Genetic Opera. but i decided to give this a shot. i set my bias aside, and watched this movie with an open mind. and i still thought it was pretty bad, though not as awful as i expected.
it wasn’t as gory as i would have liked (though while the guy behind me was freaking out bitching about how gross it was, i was laughing.) there were some pretty funny parts, and one of the best death scenes i have ever seen. the effects were good and Forrest Whittaker was not too shabby, but that’s about all i have to say that’s good about this movie.
i thought Jude Law was alright, but not outstanding. the movie itself was just pretty much ridiculous. the ending was AWFUL. i mean i was pissed. one of those “I WASTED MY NIGHT FOR THIS?!” moments. (spoiler alert) they could have cut quite a bit off the scene where they were clearing their accounts. that was just pathetic and it dragged on and on and on. i really wouldn’t reccommend wasting your time and money on this.
Pretty good overall. Entertaining movie but you’ll soon forget it later.
Now this movie looked really good from the previews but you see what sucks is when you go and spend $7 On a ticket to see it then it sucks well i dident really suck it just wasent that good .. i was dissapointed i expected better from this movie this movie had a really good first 20-25mins and i was actully getting into the movie a little bit and thgt i could like it then after the rest just kind of fell downhill from there Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker were ok in this movie but they really had nothing to work with here.
This movie is set in the future where you can buy or loan out artifical organs and the company that loans these out they pretty much never tell you that if you follow behind on the payments they send a Repo Men to collect it. Which Sucks!. Thats where Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker come in and collect the Oragans that you dont pay for. But when The Repo Man (Jude Law) is doing his last job supposely a faulty wiring in his defibulator puts him in a coma. He wakes up with the news that he needs a new Heart. And that they are gonna have to replace it with an Artfical one..
Well now he is falling behind on Payments and pretty much by now The Repo men are coming after him. And he pretty much is not gonna stop at anything until he can get his name out of the system. This movie like i said Entertained me for the First 25mins and this movie relied on Blood and Guts to keep you entertaind it realy did not have a plot or anything. But the only reason i am being so nice to it is because in the end i did not see the Twist coming usually i can point those things out a mile away and in this movie for some reason i couldent and for that i give it a 5

Thanks For Stoppin Buy….
i only wanted to watch this film becausei thought paris hilton was in it !!! surely she must get murdered in another film soon?!? any way watched this film and liked it the whole body parts debate is very real today and for the future, but why are thier guns so big and gay darts come out of them also not much common sense in it carving pople up on thier own driveways at a bbq i dont think so, also who did they thnk they were! got bored of them having cheesey action fights but at least the film did it with style and i could not really match it with other films….. body parts, the operation scees were good and made me feel uncomfortable love the romantic part at the end when all the parts are coded….. the twist was good but arrrrrrrrrrrh thats clever……….pretty good film should have been more futuristic like blade runner…… and michael caine
Crazy idea for a movie and I like that. Not a scary movie but scary to think about how possible this could be one day (obviously on a much smaller scale). The ending twist I thought was thrown out right in front of your face in the beginning of the movie. The movie is pretty non-stop and full of fun kills. I’m surprised Bloody Disgusting doesn’t have an official review on this. Pretty cool action flick and deserving of a watch from fans.
I enjoyed this movie but it was very mediocre overall. Nothing original considering theres already a Repo Men movie they took the idea from and the whole dreamstate twist ending was taken from Total Recall. And the worl looked like the city from Blade Runner. So its not original by any strecth. What it does offer is some decent action scenes. Check it out but go in with low expectations.
ehh it was alright not great
Was looking for something a little more brutal. I mean it is a movie about people who are having artificial body organs being repossessed because they are behind on their payments.
My other thing is (spoiler) is that I felt cheated coming to find out that Law’s character is only thinking of the last half of the movie because he sustained head trauma with his fight with Whitaker, and is being held basically on life support with a some new brain machine to live his days out as a vegetable. This kinda irked me.
This film had so much promise, but I was once again let down. Like the review below mine said, I expected it to be way more violent. I also didn’t expect it to be as humorous as it was, but Jude and Forest make a good team on screen. What really bothered me was the ending because one of the best parts of the movie near the end was a dream?!That really pissed me off, newayz watch it once then move on, definitely nothing special.
Kind of sucked and kind of ripped off REPO!
I did like this film, despite Jude Law taking the lead role. Was pissed when one scene in particular pretty much copied off of the flawless film Oldboy. Like the ending and would recommend it for anyone.
not scary but a very good movie indeed
It is not a horror movie, but a good movie. I liked. Good action scenes and good entertainment for the whole movie.
Liev Schreiber was a perfect salesman. forest whitaker is turning into a master of these well-meaning but clearly unhinged individuals. great action sequences and an ending which would piss you off.
but its too derivative. repo the genetic opera+ brazil+some oldboy+other action-sci fi movies.
still it can be watched.
