pretty cool
It was mildly entertaining, but I think it’s been overrated by most of the reviews I’ve seen. Usually I like it when films deviate from the expected, but in this film’s case, I wish it would’ve taken a more simplistic ‘When a Stranger Calls’-esque route and finally given us a great “the calls are coming from inside the house!” film, which as of yet there has not been.
Takes the elements of When a stranger calls but actually turns it into something good and entertaining with a good twist (but unfortunatly i sort of predicted the twist to come) but it still succeeds in being an entertaining suspense horror film that probably wont satisfy the now blood thirsty audiences of films like saw and hostel, but I always prefer a film like this as opposed to something like saw, because aside from gore, aside from acting, aside from twists, aside from all those things, at the end of the day the thing i crave most in a film is a story that keeps me interested from beginning till the end, and this film does just that, most fans on this site will dismiss this film as nothing good, but dont listen to that, check this one out at least once, for something different than the usual flow of pg-13 failed suspense movies and over gored torture porn films, this is something that came along at the right moment for me to watch.
for best viewing, do not read anything about the film before viewing!!!
i expected this to be the same old slasher movie as when i saw baby sitter wanted and watched the trailer i thought it was just a film that was based on the urban legend well lets put it this was i only started clicking there was more in it when she prepared the boy his meal (dont want to give it away here) watch the film you will see what i mean in my opinion it was good
Way better than expected. I agree with Protecious, don’t read about it or watch the trailers.
shity movie everything was bad about it nothing was good
Something must be said about a film than revels in simplicity for most of its running time and executes rather well before unraveling a creative twist thats a bit ridiculous and making it actually work. The film isn’t high art but it is entertaining, chilling and unique. It feels more like a pilot for a TV series than actual film but it’s a really entertaining movie nonetheless.
geesh,i was better than ost films about being a babysitter, but thats not saying much, good time killer though.
This was shot in my home city. Can’t say much about it.
I’m not suprised this is getting mixed reviews. It’s so remniscent of many other films yet at one point it becomes it’s own. It feels like an homage to horror of old but rather than following a blueprint it fuses a couple together. There’s a twist and it’s kinda obvious but it’s a good twist. Apart from the *annoying* overuse of tension music, this movie is awesome!
Completely took me by surprise, and I’m really glad I bought this. Sarah Thompson was awful in her last horror ‘Brutal’, which was godawful, so I was apprehensive about her in this movie. However, it turns out she was really good and the movie was great. The twist was great, and the trailer does not do this slasher justice. It’s much better than ‘WASC’ and slasher fans should appreciate this one. For an independent movie, it was very-well made and didn’t look amateur at all. A solid script, great gore and solid performances make this a great slasher flick.
I was expecting this to be brutal. But It was a lot better than that. Sure it will remind you of other films, but there’s just something about it that worked for me.
Highly entertaining nonsense that had a strong beginning but the last half though bold was way too over the top. Check it out if you want to see half a slasher, half torture/psycho flick and half demonic freakshow. This was outrageous but I kind of liked it alot! Check it out or not it’s up to you but be ready for one wacky twist.
I Love it . but this movie have any big problem !!!!
I guessed the ending of the movie after I’d watched 15 minutes of it. It was stupid and very predictable.
Watched this movie over a year ago, funny its still not out yet.
Not a bad movie, not great either. Had some neat gore. The little boy was extremely creepy. The poor preist really got the S**t beat out of him. It was better then I expected.
good actors, great plot and amazing music – but a bit too lengthy
This was a nice surprize.
I watched it on demand knowing nothing about it.
It looked very very low budget but the story pulled me in and the gore was off the chain, plus the twist was cool, very reminiscent of
“The Last House in The Woods”.
I ended up really liking it plus it’s memorable and something I would watch again.
Overall a nice movie, that reminded me of the old Wes Craven films… The cinematography was excellent and the main idea was pretty solid too. My only problem was that it was too stereotypical ( using cliches like the villain that explains his motives to his victim) and that it limited itself while it could have been great with better developed characters and less inane action towards the end. This being said, Sarah Thompson is fantastic in her part and I can’t wait to see more of her…
I would have preferred it be just a regular slasher bc IMO the twist was a little too far fetched but it was still a decent movie
It was pretty funny and a little entertaining but nothing special.
For a film that looked like just another bad direct to video low budget movie, Babysitter Wanted had some things going for it. For starters, it had a passable cast, a steady production value and it had at least some attempt at a layered plot.
This is not to suggest that it necessarily succeeded entirely on its ambitious tale to take a new twist on the small town, innocent girl babysitter who take a job that puts her in danger. The decision to present multiple possibilities for what is happening around the main character are a nice touch, although the end result is not entirely an original concept. Misdirection has been so heavily used throughout the years, the any horror film veteran will anticipate the twists contained within.
Still, there was some solid gore and violence, mostly towards the end of the film, including a scene that made me grimace in pain as it looked so horrible. Bill Mosely is always fun to see, even if they didn’t necessarily use him as much as I would have liked.
Ultimately, this is a solid horror film that I would add to last year’s House of the Devil as both films have a similar feel and pacing to them. Your mileage may vary overall, but this one is was a solid purchase and at the very least a worthy rental.
Kind of a retarded storyline after an ok slasher style 1st half–the 2nd half has gore that feels a bit too staged and pointless, but ‘Sitter is still watchable for the most part. The mom and dad actors have some movie-destroy worthy chops at times, but the dad’s acting/dialogue can actually be unintentionally humorous. The ending is not a movie saver, either–it severely lacks the necessary “evil” it is trying to portray. Ok time killer for just a rental. Not worth the $$ I paid for it, though.
I highly enjoyed this horror flick. I thought it did borrow from many other horror movies like this but it did come to feel as if it was it’s own movie by the end. I highly suggest this and would definitely buy it if I came across it!
this was a great movie. I really liked twist, I was thinking it could go that way but i was not too sure before half way mark, but the twist still shocked me.
Great movie!
If you liked House of the Devil you should like this too, House of the Devil is good movie but i liked this one better.
To predictable and boring.
