    I’m really shocked at the BD review here. Mr. D obviously had someone wrong him the day he saw this. It is better than Midnight Meat Train and Candyman by a long shot.

    He also didn’t watch the movie close enough as his review wasn’t exactly true of the movie.

    Book of Blood has a great cast and wonderful script. The character relationships were strong, believable and natural. This is a top notch movie. I would definitely recommend ignoring the BD review, because this movie is awesome.

    BD review is waaaay off. This is a great movie. While it is definitely a slow burn, it is very atmospheric, and the creepy moments are spine-crawly and effective. Great use of surround sound. When the faint sound of kids playing started coming from the rear left, I looked out the window, trying to determine what idiot was letting their kids play outside at midnight. So, yeah, great audio on the Bluray, at least.

    This is a very faithful adaptation of an extremely unique story. Whether or not you like it, it is definitely a unique viewing experience, and it’s worth a shot for anyone. From my own opinion, this comes highly recommended.

    I thought it was better than I anticipated. I was okay with the idea that this guy was faking things at first, but it was hard to believe that he could have done everything that was happening before the real ghosts took over. I don’t think this is a bad film, and liked the whole collecting the guy’s skin so she could continue to tell the dead’s stories.

    Reading some reviews of this film had me a little turned of to even seeing it and I’m glad I stuck to an old saying that everyone is entitled to there own opinion and I watched it. I really liked this movie. The story is so strong and is presented in a fantastic movie. Also, I’m not a huge fan of CGI but when used right can really make a movie that much more effective and this is a great example in my opinion. This is a creepy, somewhat haunted house, ghost story, with not much gore but gore done very well. i suggest you watch and make your own opinion’s.

    A mediocre ghost story told at an absolutely crawling pace. I agree with the main reviewer that this is one of the worst horror films I have seen of late. Leave this on the bargain table–not worth the $$ or the time.

    They tried and almost did it. I liked this, but it had bad cgi and was very dull. Good story, okay acting, and decent directing, but I don’t recommend it. Anyone who likes Clive Barker stories might enjoy it, but otherwise it is just disapointing.

    I wonder WHY Bloody Disgusting loves movies like “Red Riding” and gives movies like this one skull?
    This movie was far from fantastic, but had a suspenseful story with decent acting. It’s Clive Barker for Christ’s sake!!
    You may not have deliverance, but a story by Barker is worth seeing.

    I really loved this movie. I guess I am just weird like that but I found it very entertaining. Watch it on a regular basis.

    The review of this film actually implies the movie was not really watched. It gets a very significant plot point wrong which screams “I was doing other things and the movie was on at that time, here is a review anyway.”

    //spoiler//

    He faked the first night. That is all. The second night (with the things he could not possibly do) was real. He probably started to fake things (he used the switch again) but the ghosts took over from their. She just thought he faked it all after discovering his tricks. Its not exactly hard to follow and the reviewer getting it wrong speaks volumes.

    //spoiler//

    Its not a film for gore hounds or people who require a kill count but it is a very good horror film for those whose taste is more varied.

    If you are into gore, this is not for you. If you like interesting and rather disturbing plots, check it out. Not mind blowing awesome, but not bad either. Rent it.
