This was quite a strange, intriguing, disturbing and sad character study about a man with a split personality disorder after his abusive mother passes away and gets worse after a train crashes in on his secret. I thought Cillian Murphy did an fantastic, oscar worthy performance as the damaged individual with the disorder as well as a solid supporting cast but this is definitely his movie. At first I thought that the town was going to figure it out that he is living two lives as a man and a woman but he effortlessly fools them and bewitches them and I’m just baffled that they could figure it out. As the film goes along it gets more and more complexed and you soon find both of his different personalities plotting against each other witch was a crazy and bizarre plot turn that I really didn’t expect to happen but it was very interesting and kept me glued to the screen in its mystery. The one thing that kept me from giving it an higher rating was the lousy and anticlimatic ending which pretty much made the viewing pointless and it made me made and disappointed. Overall it wasn’t awful but it really needed a better ending but definitely worth renting for Cillian Murphy’s brave performance, other than that it’s really not a must see. More of a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
this movie was a great surprise for me.this certainly not a commercial and thats the reason that-unfortunately-it was released straight on dvd,if im not mistaken..and thats a true shame…somewhere between dark drama and psycological thriller the movie says the story of slightly deranged young man who was abused by his mother that is now dead for a year..so he creates an alter female ego(he dresses up like a woman)to take care of him, like his mother used to do…but when a train crushes in his front yard he is afraid his secret is gonna be revelead..cillian murphy’s acting is absolutely amazing…he takes the whole weight of the film on his own back and delivers a stunning performance…the photography is beautiful and the scenario is like a like a slow ticking time bomb..definetely check this out…it’s really worth your attention…
A very strange movie that is not the typical Hollywood movie, to some point is a bit shocking to see Cillian Murphy in a dual role, this dual role he plays is not his best work, his performance left many doubts.
The movie is interesting but very boring.I can not recommend this movie to anyone unless I try to make someone sleep.
And definitely not a horror movie!!!
