I just finished watching this movie and it isn’t all that bad as the site review says. Yeah it looks mad cheap, but I can see these guys really have a love of horror movies and put some effort into making it very entertaining for pretty much it’s entire duration( the 112 minutes goes by like and hour and fifteen). I especially liked the music! I haven’t heard a creepy synth score like that in years.Kudos to Pangborn for making nods to all the hardcore horror fans and I’m interested to see what these guys will do next. Definetely worth a look. The kid in the movie is relentless and badass! Not for the faint of heart.
I have to say I am a finicky movie watcher, shying away from movies over 1.5 hours since I usually loose interest. This actually kept my full attention the whole duration. I enjoyed the blood and guts effects and the revenge story line was done well. It really kept me wanting to see more and there was no disappointment with the variety and frequency of the death scenes. Some so-so acting( the kid is probably the most legit actor ) and a couple questionable cgi scenes aside, it was an overall entertaining movie.
A low rent attempt at Creepshow mixed with Pet Cemetary and what I think might or might not be some kinda zombies. Maybe they are dopplegangers or something?…Look, I got a soft spot for little kids gouging out proples eyeballs with power tools, so I’ll give this supercheapy a little more props than the usual sort of it’s kind. I ain’t a big fan of metal, but the rest of the music in the movie is cool.
I think this definetly falls into the category of ” exploitation ” filmmaking so don’t expect great acting or any real budget at all. But that said, all in all, I like it for what it is. Decent idea, and enough killing to keep me from fast forwarding ( Like I did to Evil Bong and Backwoods ). Three stars for showing the girl’s guts getting pulled out in slow motion. Nothing like pig entrials getting pulled out of a latex dummy to get me going in the morning.
