I can’t believe this got even a half decent rating on this site. Don’t be fooled. This movie is bloody awful. Not to say that it wasn’t entertaining. The acting is real bad, not the worst ever, but not passable by any standards.
This movie throws all logic completely to the wind without so much as an explanation as to why. For example, with a destroyed car that won’t turn over, 2 friends decide to push the car and let it coast to and old house for shelter. But the car is then seen slowly and calmly coasting UPHILL! I was astonished that no one would realise how fuckin dumb that is. But that’s just a taste.
All decisions made by these kids are completely illogical and stupid. Even their good ideas are bad. And if you’re hoping for gruesome bear kills, sorry. The bear is actually not even on camera with any of the actors for entire movie. Kill scenes consist of “scared looking guy-bear face-fake paw hits guy-paintshop looking blood splatters on the camera-guy goes flying onto roof of shed” Seriously. Onto the roof!
I could go on. If you like sitting around with your friends making fun of movies, this is a great one for that, and I had a lot of fun with it. But if you’re really interested in a good man vs nature/bear attack story, this definately won’t satisfy you. The ending is priceless. It’s like the movie shat it’s pants and rolled credits. Impossible to explain without giving too much away, but wow. That was the biggest laugh out of the whole film for me.
Tex Massacare got this wayy wrong. This movie was terrible. It was not scary, I hate monster flicks when bears are the monsters. The acting was atrocius and the directing was terrible for this film. It is definettly right now the worst movie of 08.
I can’t believe he gave this a 7/10 rating. This movie is horrible. The acting is bad and the special effects are cheesy. It was on the Sci Fi Channel! Stay away from this movie.

although it was very bad there is a few things that were salvageable
just because the acting and FX were bad ESPECIALLY the acting its a low budget b movie what did you expect. i did hate (spoilers) the way the bear was throwing the idiots around literally and dragging it by its paws ITS FRIGGIN PAWS and how much they obviously wanted this film to be only like 45-one long because when ever they walk anywhere they show every step so instead of only showing brief seconds of the travels they show it all.
however, there is a lot of good things about this movie (spoilers) such as the plot some people would say that there is nothing to it as if thats a bad thing honestly how complex should it be a bunch of really dumb post grads run over a bear cub while off-roading and the mama wants revenge seriously who wants it to be complex also i did like the slash marks on the camera i dont know why i guess i just like cheesy effects and most people hate the ending (spoilers) from the very beginning you dont really like any of these characters i mean the girl is annoyingly simple headed and the guys i just idiots so how really cares if they all die i mean shit they deserve it.
btw i did like those seens where the characters have slightly dramatic moments cause u rarly see those in these films its just too bad the acters are horrible and can’t sell it.
the main problem with this movie is that there is way to much filler and nothing really concrete thought there is some salvageable moments and plot lines it deserves a redo at the least.

THIS MOVIE IS SO BAD, IT’S GOOD. The “victims” in this movie are basically just begging to be mauled by an angry bear. The bear kicked ass, even though the acting & the special effects were beyond lame. So basically, if you want a good laugh and you prefer bears over people, then this is a great movie to watch.
An angry bear screaming on the cover, along with a girl who doesn’t look like she’s wearing the most appropriate hiking attire? HOW COULD YOU SCREW THIS UP?! Apart from the way the movie ends, there isn’t anything redeeming about it. Not only the relief that you don’t have to watch the movie anymore, but the way the filmmakers chose to end things.
