Toy Fair ’10: First Look at ‘Dante’s Inferno’ Figure

At this weekend’s Toy Fair in New York a brand new Dante in ‘Crusader’ outfit and Unbaptized Baby were shown from NECA’s “Dante’s Inferno” figure line. Both figures will most likely be sold as a 2-pack, reports Figures.com. NECA also confirmed the following new video game licenses which will join the Player Select toy line: “Borderlands” (Articulated Claptrap with sound effects), “Splinter Cell 2″ and “Assassin’s Creed 2″.

Arriving on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday, February 9 is Anchor Bay’s Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic. The animated feature is a collaboration with Electronic Arts, which will be releasing its “Dante’s Inferno” videogame day-and-date with the animated feature. In the same vein as Dead Space: Downfall, Starz Entertainment is releasing an animated feature film for Dante’s Inferno to arrive alongside EA’s much anticipated video game. “Inferno” will mirror the game’s plot and follow Dante’s journey through the nine circles of Hell — limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery — in search of his true love, Beatrice. Didja enjoy a little of that animated Dead Space: Downfall feature from Anchor Bay and Starz? If so, they have more video game adaptations up their sleeve as Electronic Arts and Starz Media are readying their second animated feature, Dante’s Inferno, based on the videogame bowing next year. This is not to be confused with Universal Pictures’ feature film adaptation also in the works — but if you’ve been following the progress, this release is the first time the actual pot has been revealed.
