TOLDJU!!! Lionsgate Pressing On With ‘Twilight’

Remember this? When we said “Twilight will return. In fact, they’re already discussing it internally. It will happen. It is still undecided exactly what the future of the franchise will be, though. It could be a direct remake, considering the initial saga is so poorly made, but then again it could also be a spinoff or maybe even a one-off sequel. It could be anything to keep the green bills piling high. But expect a remake. Yes, quickly.READ MORE

New Director Takes Arclight’s ‘Bait’

According to the Caleel Agency (among a few other agency sources) Kimble Rendall will replace Russell Mulcahy as the director for Arclight Films’ Bait 3D. Jesse Spencer was originally attached to star, with previous offers out to both Xavier Samuel (The Loved Ones, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Julian McMahon (Faces in the Crowd, “Nip/Tuck”), sources tell Bloody Disgusting. No word on the status of their involvement. Rendall was the second unit director on such films as Knowing, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and the two Matrix sequels. In a sleepy coastal resort community, shoppers at an underground supermarket find themselves terrorized by a crazed bandit when the unimaginable occurs… A monstrous freak tsunami swallows the town. Now trapped inside a flooded supermarket with an armed maniac and rushing water threatening to entomb them all in a watery grave, the imprisoned band of survivors discover they’re not alone. The tsunami has brought some unwanted visitors from the depths. As the waters rise they must overcome not only the threat of drowning, but another threat, just as deadly and far more bloodthirsty… Packs of hungry tiger sharks. (more…) READ MORE

BD Reviews: ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Doesn’t (Quite) Bite

Here’s a shocker: Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse doesn’t (quite) bite. Chris Eggertsen and David Harley report back from the third adaptation exclaiming it’s infinitely better than New Moon — but that’s still not saying much. “Where New Moon was a clumsily paced, brutally long-winded exercise that peddled in second-rate CW theatrics, Eclipse – while still at least twenty minutes too long and not without its flaws – is lighter on its feet and infinitely more bearable.” Click the title above for Chris’ full review, with David’s awaiting you inside. Check back here this week to write your own review to tell all of BD what YOU thought. (more…) READ MORE

Press Conference: Interviews with the Cast & Crew of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

You knew it was coming. Love the Twilight series or hate it, the third film in the series, Eclipse, will be unleashed with a resounding boom on June 30th, just over seven months after the release of $700 million global hit New Moon. Whether Eclipse can reach the same box-office heights remains to be seen, although horror fans specifically may find this installment rather more appealing considering it was directed by David Slade, the man who helmed a decidedly more hard-edged take on the vampire myth with 30 Days of Night back in 2007. At the very least it bodes well for the film’s visual style, taking into account the flair Slade brought to both Night and his debut film, twisted “molestation thrillerHard Candy. (more…) READ MORE

Second Trailer for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Directed by David Slade, As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Trailer Debut March 11, 10 Second Teaser NOW

Update: 10-second teaser available inside. Continuing to keep our Twilight news to an absolute minimum (we listen to your feedback!), we’ll pretty much only be reporting on major info such as trailer, poster and (exciting – if there’s such a thing) new image debuts. So here’s a quicky for you sparkly folks among the BD crowd. Summit Entertainment will debut the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse this Thursday, March 11 at 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST via satellite to media (I’m assuming this means a massive launch to everyone?). Prior to this, on Wednesday, March 10 a (super annoying) 10-second teaser of that trailer will be available at 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST. Obviously, the full trailer can also be seen in theatres in front of Remember Me, which also stars Robert Pattinson. The only reason I personally want to view the footage is to see what director David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) was able to conjure up. Thoughts? (more…) READ MORE
