This movie was a very respectful squeal, it feature more blood, and more robots. The acting was a little wooden, but hey where not an oscar film here. The action was good, the story was pretty good too, even though the average person can figure everything out pretty simple and pretty fast. But it does set up a great ending for which I hope will be another screamers. Bring it on.
I got this one from walmart, already without high hopes for a direct-to-DVD sequel to the badass 1995 film..but after seeing this i must say they did a damn good job with this sequel. taking place a few years after the 1st, it follows the daughter of joe henrickson from the original…its got ton more gore, more machines, and its only flaw: a reused plot…the only problem with this movie is the ending which you’ll see coming a mile a way! but still worth a watch!
This movie is further proof that not all direct to video sequels spell out doom. 13 years after the original, which is kind of a forgotten sci fi/ horror classic- this movie knew what it was doing and executed it very well. Sure the acting at times is grade c at best, and the big so-called ‘shocker ending’ is predictable, but in the end Screamers 2 is a really fun and entertaining way to kill an hour and a half. I really hope we get to see more Screamers.
I was a bit shocked by the quality of this film as I expected it to be much lower than it was. Not as good as the original but a very good sequal.
